We are Pat & Giulia, a couple from 🇬🇧 and 🇮🇹 living in London.
We decided to go travelling and ended up living getting stuck in Malaysia during 2020 which spurred the creation of this channel, we're now back on the road after a lengthy hiatus!
We're Malaysian enthusiasts who enjoy discovering spots off the tourist trail and don’t like taking ourselves too seriously. We're not here to be vloggers or to be famous, we're not necessarily here to "inspire" anyone to travel either - just enjoy the spontaneous fun of it, weird situations and of course making local friends.
If you like our videos, chuck us a subscribe or give us a shout on instagram.
Big love
Pat & Giulia
Dad!! You’re supercool, not afraid to try any foods. Bravo!👏👏 👏 Malaysian salute Dad!
As someone who follows your "parents in Malaysia" episodes, im gonna miss watching them when they leave. You have cool parents, your mom so young at heart kinda woman. Thanks to you two for promoting Malaysia to them!
Me too, just followed em to see his parents. They are lovely.
Hope he can upload more videos as much as possible while the parents are still here.haha
Hey,,your dad is very lovely and fatherly. I've been observing he would definitely offers what ever he got in his hands to share with every of you. Also i caught your dad feeding you tau fu fa while you were recording..what a beautiful and lovely. He's so sweet. hugs to everyone of you.
Pat, the effort you went thru to explain everything to your parents is just exceptional! It's always better to tell thru experience!
Thank you for the very nice video of British parents trying Malaysian street food 👍
🙏🏻🙏🏻🇲🇾
Dad as usual. Always cool 😎
You should bring your family to the Putrajaya Ramadhan Bazaar and eat picnic style during break-fast at the garden near the Iron Mosque. The evening picnic with the rest of Malaysian in the park is the best experience ever. Google the location and go tomorrow! Trust me, its gives you a different Ramadhan vibes than the city centre.
man, can i suggest you guys to go to the east cost of Malaysia, you may find language barrier there, but surely you find more friendly helpfull malaysian there, lots of culture to explore
To be honest, you really showing how we are the Malaysian culture to your parents... reslly thanks to you... having a great joruney at malaysia to your parents...
Taking your folks touring Petaling Street, no kiddin...I was there couple of weeks back. Temple , street lane, kopitiam , Street food, I reckon it was hell of a day. Yeah, i could see your dad was really soaking everything in.. Ahh!!.. Popiah!! I miss those , with you guys haha!! AweSome mates!
I loved how the dad being flabbergasted on something new, truly a gold reactions by him..and mom just being supportive character standing beside him..
Wonderful exploration. Thank you for this video.
You are truly a Malaysian food ambassador.
To be honest i just realized that you both already living at Malaysia for this whole year without uploading any video.. for that i am a bit curious.. what is your (Pat and Giulia) local Malaysian vegan food that you love the most?? Did you already found the "gulai nangka" yet (got to be super cautious because sometimes they have a salted dried fish or anchovies but it always depends on the Chef)
I always found that Giulia is adorable when she minding with her business and taking a random pictures that capturing her own POV of things in her imaginative perspective.. like watching an innocent child watching something that simple to us but magical to them.. 😊
Oooh besides roti canai (haha) we love all the veg nasi campur! gulai nangka is also one of our favourite foods but you’re right, it’s very hard to find it completely vegetarian in Malaysia, usually it does contain fish! But def love it - and all the pucuk ubi/terong!
18:39 you forgot to teach your parent how to cross the road Malaysia style. hahahaha
Seeing you guys at Petaling street reminds me of the time when you guys got scammed at kotaraya few years ago
😂😂😂 How are you bro? Hope all is well 🙌
Nice edit Giulia. Good job! 👏🏻👏🏻
good visual audio experience.
Love to see your parents again.
Do ask for "less sweet/kurang manis" for the drinks please.
Please bring them to visit mosques too - National Mosque.
* oh, I can see from earlier comments your dad is getting pretty popular ;-)
Good idea! Haha they’ll love hearing this! 😂🙏🏻
We as Malaysia country very small population, area & not popular internationally but we have world class "things" even those are among best top ten in the world..find out what is tht sure you will amaze
Haha, dont worry, the weather is not just hot for your parents, but for us malaysian as well. We prefer to stay indoor as well during this month as it is just too hot plus for muslim, we’re fasting as well.
U guys just keep on walking & walking on the streets of the chaotic KL.Bring ur parents to PJ,Putrajaya,n so on too! With nicer & comfortable places! The weather is extremely hot now,not recommended to keep walking at outdoor & on the streets that we Malaysians also trying to avoid!
😂 we love it!!
@@VeggiesOnTour Thanks for showcasing my country Malaysia & love my country so much mate! But other than the chaotic KL city, there are alot more places to explore! Selangor & KL is huge! Another famous spots that u can visit is Putrajaya,a very nice place with great scenery & beautiful lakes. The place is totally different from KL.I've been following ur Instagram & TH-cam as well, all the places u guys visiting is just KL city,it's quite bored actually😅
Petaling street is the no 6 the most interesting road or street in the world
The weather's been scorching, your dad is doing really well for a first timer, happy for you guys.
😂🙏🏻

Mantap Bro 👍🏼
All the nice food guys...
Good job.
Awww such a lovely familyy ❤❤
aha! Lovely comment, my parents will love hearing this! 🙏🏻
Petaling street sounds like peddling street using british accent.
Petaling is the name of local tree species, Pokok Petaling. The Malays love to name the places after tree name. Believe it or not, 80% the places name in Malaysia are from tree species.
Should come to TTDI, Putrajaya & Gombak
It is said kaya toast were invented by Hainanese chefs working with British during colonial times in Malaya. The Hainanese chefs adapted kaya from fruit jam using local ingredients like eggs, coconut milk and pandan. I suspect the half-boiled eggs eaten with soy sauce and pepper was also inspired by the English soft boiled eggs.
Kaya toast maybe. But seri kaya is local nusantara thing, not chinese influence.
Please dont claim and making up story if you dont know the real history. Kaya jam was invented by Peranakan Baba & Nyonya and not Hainanese. Chinese Peranakan who assimilated with local Malay cultures has their own identities; language, culture, custom, cuisine etc. Hence it exist in all Malay Straits Settlement; Penang, Melaka and Singapore. Peranakan cuisines are heavily influenced with Malay cusines eg Asam Laksa Nyonya, Kari Kapitan and many delicacies (Kueh). Kaya spread is not adapted from English fruit jam, as Pandan has been used in many Peranakan and Malay cuisines eg Nasi lemak for coconut rice and desserts and boiled eggs have been consumed traditionally by Malay a long before and normally mixed with honey and sometimes with dark soy sauce, and nothing to do with English at all.
@@hafizhassan9786I think they were confused as there is a Hainanese variation of Kaya. So yes Kaya wasn't invented by the Hainanese but they did adapt their own recipe and made a variation that's different from the Nyonya Kaya.
Itu Makanan China Tiongkok Kenapa ada banyak Budaya China Tiongkok di malasia melebihi Pribuminya
@@suhanjayalian5044 Indon Cina jangan suka menyibuk..kamu balik saja ke Tiongkok tanah nenek moyang kamu. Cina Malaysia baik baik aja di sini. Jangan campurin urusan orang lain. Semua video Malaysia kamu ada, mesti nggak ada kerja. Nganggur ke? Meh datang kebun sawit kerja.
Actually you can bring ur parents to experience crossing the KLCC bridge. If I remember correctly, the price isn't very expensive. Of course Malaysian and tourist price are different. But I remember it's still cheap.
You can also have a dinner at KL tower rotating restaurant. Food are so so. But the experience is unique.
Maybe they'll get a discount for senior person
Yes you shd try coffe mix with tea they put milk or creammer tht why both flaour suit.. one more "neslo" nescafe mix with milo
Nice video
DBKL tak peka, dah Nak masuk Raya puasa kenapa tak gantung hiasan utk Raya puasa kat seluruh KL termasuk Petaling Street.
Entah, kalau masa Christmas dan CNY beria jalan jalan dihias. Masa Hari Raya sepi, macam tak serasa Malaysia sambut Raya..malah Singapura dan London lagi meriah dengan hiasan lampu Eid. Dahlah shopping malls di KL masa raya kalah jauh nak banding hiasan masa Christmas dan CNY.
Wow
Please take then to santa capati house at tawakal hospital. Try the capati & curries. U will love it. Not far. 10 minutes walk from chow kit
Have not reached the seafood yet hahahha
Belum!! 😂
@@VeggiesOnTour not bad response... Nice one m8 ☺ any plans for your next travel? Welcome to show us more video of Korea and more of Korean ppl I do find them fascinating.

Good idea! 🙏🏻

Nahh .. aku bagi ❤ ..
Congratulation bro 🎉🎉🎉🎉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The taste of teh pahit (Bitter tea) is some times described as 金 (golden) i.e bittersweet, whereby at first taste it is bitter but has a sweet aftertaste. Some of such bitter tea include chinese tea, bittergourd tea and herbal tea and often give a ‘cooling’ effect to the body
Not forget tebu pahit drink too..😅
Sooo good! 🙏🏻💯
pahit is bitter in term of flavor but if we use for feeling "bitter" meaning painful to your heart
The slab of butter is meant to be eaten whole and cold. No need to spread it. You won’t be able to anyway😂
The plastic knife had no chance! 😂
😂😂😂
rendang is internationally known as ! of the famous Malaysian dish
hati2 jiran sebelah sedang memerhati😅
Take them to a beach and your parents will say that’s the best kind of holiday. They are the typical English brits travellers…unadventurous.
How long are yr parents be in mlysia? Will they be visiting all over? Borneo will be gd for them. Langkawi too
Get em a BO'OH'O'WA'ER
16:49 - I'm sure yourself haven't tasted "durian coffee" yet 😅
Those who sell bakso arent local, probably illegal immigrant
And dont recommend Petaling Street, instead Central Market (THE REAL REPRESENTATION OF MALAYSIA CULTURE )
Second .. 2nd
You mother looks sick bro. She's shacking. However enjoy you time in beautiful Malaysia 😊
These years finish
Heat - 1
Mom - 0
🤣🤣🤣
🤣
You’re stuffing your parents with Malaysian food! 😂
Of course! 😂💯🇲🇾
Maknye tak suka manis, kalah la kita... 😅
Your parents look like your older siblings.
Your mom seems not enjoy Malaysia 😢
Something was not right here. I wonder when you mention some Malaysian foods that are of Indonesian origin. No, it's not right. The Malay food, like rendang, asam pedas, laksa, and satay, is actually of Malay origin. To make it clear, these foods were actually created over 500 years ago and more. At that era, there were no such countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei because these countries were just created after World War II, after four countries gained independence. Traditional Malay regions include Riau, Sumatera, and Peninsular Malaysia. These foods already existed 500~1000 years ago. There are four historical separate countries, which were originally known as Nusantara. British and Dutch agreement to separate Malaysia and Indonesia, while Brunei and Singapore were part of Malaysia 70 years ago. Brunei and Singapore exited Malaysia in another case. I hope you don't need to mention the food that burdens and hurts Malaysians as well.
There is some confusion here lah, in the video I was saying that Bakso is Indonesian so the sellers there may be Indonesian.
I then mention Asam Pedas almost straight after as I'm pointing out a special Malaysian dish - I know Asam Pedas is a Malay dish - it's certainly not Indo. Have you seen how popular it is in Malacca? It's almost land of Asam Pedas!
There is some crossover but plenty of Malaysia only dishes, Malay have a special way of cooking. Even then with crossover dishes like Rendang, Sate etc - the recipes are berbeda. Trust me - i've been to every state in MY and can name food from each! I would never say Asam Pedas is from Indonesia... Hope that clears up the confusion, maaf lah 😂🙏
@@VeggiesOnTour got it 👌👍
Mate, you are trying too hard to sell Malaysia to them. Nobody enjoys walking around in that heat. Take them to a nice neighbourhood like Mont Kiara with nice restaurants and bars.
What's the fun in that? It's better for them to try out something unfamiliar rather than being in the comfort zone
you said nobody enjoys it? Can't you see a lot of people walking around? 😂..what is the point of going to mont kiara to find nice restaurants and bars when they can find that in their country? people come to malaysia not to go to a place like that😂
Agree! Places like Plaza Arkadia at Desa park city is great too! With lots of eateries, cafes, restaurants, bistro n so on..he just duno where to bring his parents, just streets after streets!!! Oh my god!
Maybe walk around really early in the morning, or late in the evening/ night, when the sun is down.
Wth? They basically from England freaking civilized place..wats wrong being adventurous
Your Malaysian food is too Malay Muslim centric which 3/4 of Malaysians of different ethnic avoid like the pandemic.
Ah yes Tau Fu Fah, Mochi, Char Kway Teoh, Kaya Toast, Chinese Herbal Tea? What video did you watch?
Sadly, all the food arent TRUE MALAYSIAN😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😅
*malasia street food* tapi yang dipertontonkan dijual adalah *makanan budaya China Tiongkok India dan Bangladesh* .
Apa sebenarnya identitas Malasia??
