- Hey there, fellow adventurers! Today's video takes us on an exciting journey through the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Join me as I explore some of the city's most iconic landmarks and favorite tourist spots, immersing myself in the rich culture and vibrant atmosphere of this beautiful destination.
As I wander through the streets, I stumble upon what appears to be a local protest, providing a glimpse into the dynamic social landscape of Kuala Lumpur. It's a reminder of the diverse perspectives and voices that make up this vibrant city.
But it's not all about the unexpected. I also take time to visit some of Kuala Lumpur's must-see attractions, soaking up the sights and sounds along the way.
One highlight of my adventure is a visit to a Kuala Lumpur mosque, where I receive a guided tour and learn about the rich history and traditions of Islam in Malaysia. It's a fascinating insight into the cultural tapestry of the city, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to deepen my understanding.

There's a verse in the Qur'an "For you is your religion, and for me is my religion". We may have different beliefs but that's okay. That is what makes Malaysia unique because we are multiracial, multicultural and multireligious society
I like that 🙏 and I like Malaysia . Thank you
Your statement got my support 😊👍
By law, all Malays MUST be Muslim. That shows absolute compulsion. If they leave, apart from in one state, they face being locked up in a brainwashing facility and then prison. Three Northern states are actively seeking to execute apostates. Non Muslims are heavily discriminated against in Malaysia.
But by law, all Malays MUST be Muslim. There's no choice, just absolute compulsion and apart from in Negeri Semilan any Malay leaving Islam will face harsh punishment. Three northern states want to execute those who leave and no doubt, in time will do just that. If that isn't bad enough, the government places heavy restrictions on other religions and in particular Christianity that is attractive to many Malays. Given the choice many would convert or become atheist, something the government is petrified of. As aways, Islam is full of hypocrisy.
The Muslim guy is speaking TRUTH. It’s up to the listener to take heed and learn. Glad he brought this message to you and you posted it for the world. Alhamdulilah (thank Allah).
I guess so
Interesting explanation given by the Muslim man.
Yes, it was interesting. I enjoyed listening.
It was interesting, glad it was filmed.
Nicely done Wayne. I was really impressed with how patiently you waited for the Muslim Mosque docent to finish his statements. I am pleasantly surprised with how friendly the people are as well. You have a knack for engaging people with your very warm greetings so I am sure they feel very comfortable responding to you. Great series Wayne. Thank you.
Thank you John 👍
Liked the Muslim guy talking, very interesting.
Me too, I enjoyed listening to him.
@@WalkAboutWayne You say - Takbir (the way) followed by they say - allah akbar (god is the greatest), I learned that being on Palestine protests. Here's another bir ruh bid dam nafdeek ya aqsa 🙂
He's completely deluded.
Yes mate! One of my favorite cities in SEA! Have the best time and enjoy the great food!
Cheers buddy! It’s a great city and I’m addicted to the food.
😂
You just walked past the small corner of the city where most of the homeless gather. They're there because of the many social welfare independent organisations tend to distribute free meals there. But not all of the homeless are locals though. Thanks for sharing your vlog and your take on KL. Cheers mate!
Yes, it seems like this is the only part of the city where I see this. Thank you .
Hallo Wayne. The old car is a Volvo Amazon. That was my first car in the late 70 . I had one from 1965.
Nice! I wondered what it was . Really nice car . Thanks
The hot/dry season is usually in February and March. It has gone extended due to El Nino factor, there's an unusual heat wave from india to Vietnam and Malaysia.
April aswell. Most places would still be super hot now going into May. February wouldn’t be super hot in Thailand. We had a heatwave but it’s the same as usual this time of year IMO
Please take note that there are many many foreigners in Malaysia especially from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand, China and Vietnam. They are working here.
Yes. Thanks 👍
All the people hanging out and talking on their phones in your video is not locals. They are Bangladeshi.
Kl now is full of foreign workers. Tourists misunderstood them as locals.
love the honest not over-slick video. just th audio needs a bit more but otherwise its alright . keep it up. subbed !
Thank you buddy! Much appreciated. I’m happy with my audio but thanks for the sub
Majoity of those hanging out on the roadside are foreign workers out on their day off.
Must be a lot of days off 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayneYeah Malaysia is well known for its many public holidays 😂 especially for every religious holidays and for every state's holidays as well (The Sultan's birthday etc)
@@WalkAboutWayne Yeah we get days off for all of the major religious holidays not to mention King's Birthday, Sultan birthdays, National day, Malaysia day etc etc. I saw a youtube channel of a japanese living in Malaysia and he was shocked at how many public holidays Malaysia has (Hindu holidays, Islam holidays, Chinese holidays, Buddhist holidays, Christmas, the tribal holidays in East Malaysia etc)
We muslim frm the age of 10 is taught to pray 5 times a day.No escape for whatever reasons😊
It was good to listen to the man in the mosque 👍
Most Malays in urban environments don't pray and many are secretly apostate.
Something about your video I like it very much I don't know why but I liked it even here or Thailand😊 enjoy on your travels
Thank you! I will be back in Thailand soon 👍
Man , you really sound like an English football league commentator....he, he.. mind you it's a compliment.😊
John Motson hopefully 🤞.
Its The Daggaaa Its The Equalizaaa 😂😂😂
Plenty of culture & local history - I hope you can get to - BaTu Caves - 🤩 - nice work my friend
Lot's to see and do around the city mate, I won't fit it all in. Batu Caves is coming though. Cheers Ant.
Interesting what the guy in the mosque said.
I can hear you talk all day sir. You sound like a nice lad.
The weather isnt always hot like this btw, it's the heat wave, and it's usually hotter before the rain. Even hotter in the northern parts.
You look 20 years younger with the shades and backward cap. Haha
I think most locals shop at GPO (Genting Premier Outlet), much cheaper but older stock from the main outlet i guess. There's also A'Famosa Free Port and JPO (Johor Premier Outlet).
Thanks buddy! Yes, I still look good for 32 years old.
What a wonderful exploration in KL.
Thank you 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne 😁
Great country ,great foods,great peoples..
100% I agree.
Thanks for the good look-about Wayne. Good you dropped by the Mosque. I've visited a few and found it generally a hospitable and friendly vibe, and a place you might even make a new friend. I was in Malaysia during both Gulf Wars and it was all good, people were as friendly and respectful as always.
At 8:13, likely best to move on as that little group could have been affiliated with our friends who kept things interesting in London and Portland a while back.
12:00, Yea, the heat does rip Thailand and I'd be very interested in what your take on it would be long term? I've been away so long I'm concerned how I might manage it now long term now that I'm getting on.
At 24:30, I don't recall ever seeing homeless in K.L. What you encountered is like what most of Portland and a lot of the U.S. West Coast has become, and a lot more dangerous too.
You ought to give Penang a visit, I'd appreciate your take and I suspect it might be your style.
Cheers Jack, it was a good day. The Mosque is not normally my thing but I must admit, I enjoyed listening.
Portland thought being a drug market and not prosecuting crimes was going to lead to anything but what is happening there now? Idiots
That depends where you were in Malaysia. Travel to parts of the northern states then was not safe for white people. Even now, it's best to be up to date with world and local events.
Nice vid. Love from penang Malaysia. Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you)
Thank you!
Welcome to malaysia mate!
Enjpy the foods! Enjoy your stay!
Thank you mate 👍
TQSM for a wonderful video on the diaspora of Malaysian experiences and your patience on the spiritual discovery too.
When I visit churches, they will expound the goodness of God and not run others down as untruth as you do not have the understanding or authority of other faiths.
My experience with them is to question, find evidences to discover your faith. You have a choice, just like the rest of your journey, enjoy!
Thank you for this great comment. You said it perfectly. I really enjoyed listening to the Man.
WOW !!!! Unlike other SE Asian countries cars actually stop for pedestrians.
Yes, that’s true
Haa..haaa…you will be cursed like hell if not stopping😊
Dear Mr Orange, thanks for sharing…pls enjoy your exploring😊
Ternyata ada juga yg tdur di depan toko. Sampah juga numpuk banyak. 😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks Wayne interesting to see some sights here. Very different culture compared to both Thailand , Cambodia and Singapore.
Thanks mate. Yes, very very different from the rest.
When u come at night the bridge so beautiful with colourfull lamp
Yes, it’s really nice .
Nice to see you in the Mosque Wayne 😃👍🏼
Cheers Kashif mate. Bet that's the last place you thought you'd see me 👍
Enjoying your vlogs, thank you.
Thank you 😃
Very nice exsploring beautifull city kuala lumpur
Great city 👍
Lovely city Wayne mate
Great city Robert👍
The man in the masjid is Encik Zul. A local activist.
Nice 👍
True Malaysian culture lies at National Museum in KL, and maybe visit our National Craft Complex that are also in KL
Fixed your eyes on iconic modern traditional MALAY architecture like the building of Muamalat Bank (near Masjid Jamek), Royal Chulan Hotel, Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman, Istana Budaya
Thank you 👍
Thanks Wayne! I LOVE YOUR VLOG. Have you considered making a cool "Bobby Dasler" shirt to sell?
Thank you my friend 👍. Bobby Dazzler merchandise 🤣. I’ve not thought about it, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
@@WalkAboutWayne I think you could definitely sell some merchandise. Start wearing them on your vlog.
Great tour
Thanks buddy!
Really enjoy the vids. Looks amazing place. I'm from UK can you use your bank card for payments or is cash best sorry but I'm a bit thick lol
Thanks Andrew. You can use your card out shopping or with some hotels. I normally use cash or google pay.
Sir, sorry you need to pass thru the dodgy parts of Kuala Lumpur..... Glad you taking it all in, warts and all
I never knew this was the dodgy part 🤣. This vlog is the most homeless I've seen for sure. Thanks.
I used to distribute used clothes , food etc to homeless in Dang Wangi.. i think theres homeless in every country in the world.. but we try our best to understand and assist them.
Plenty to see and do in KL. I recommend the Planetarium and its nice gardens for a chil in the shade.. Great indian food restraurants nearby Brickfields
Yes mate, so much to see and do around the city. I’ll have a vlog on Brickfields and little India 👍
Welcome to KL, truly Asia.
Thank you 👍
Good on you mate. I prefer not to buy into a religious debate and would never want to live my life 24/7 under the spotlight of controlling elements of its beliefs as some religions do. We have what is called freedom and I'd never ever forego that for anything. Women even moreso I would imagine. Enough of that. Another nice tour of KL Wayne. Cheers 🍻 🤩
Cheers mate! Yeah I’m the same . I know what I believe and think but best to keep that to my chest. I really enjoyed listening to that guy though.
16:15 Bangkok Bank building in the upper right hand corner. Thailand is going to be with you wherever you travel to now mate! 😂
haha nice, I didn't see that.
You can call Kuala Lumpur as (Column-poh) or simply "KL" like local. :DD
Nice! KL would be a lot easier.
@2.45 where did the guys phone go after he dropped it? The guy with the white hair picked it up and hid it under the books...
H me gave it back to him after
Bobby Dazzler in Kuala Lumpur !
Bobby Dazzler mate 👍
Which part of the phrase 'Alluha Akbar what a Bobby Dazzler!' is used to convey a sense of surprise or amazement? A) Alluha
B) Akbar
C) Bobby dazzler
D) Mate
Answer C) Bobby dazzler
Hahaha brilliant 🤣
Mate that littlest hobo theme tune is ringing true! Why settle in 1 country when you can JUST KEEP MOVING ON?!
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, The whole world is my home. 🤣🤣. Not sang it in Malaysia yet, I can feel a littlest Hobo moment coming soon though mate.
See you next time man!
Nice one Phil 👍
Interesting guy at the mosque, the thing is Isalm came 600 years after Christianity......
The point he was making was that Abraham, Moses and Jesus prayed like the Muslims do today but that was changed after Jesus death and the sign of the cross was introduced as was the Bible, which they had meetings about to decide what actually ended up in the Bible and many other things were discussed and changed in various meetings thru the early years of Christianity. The Muslim guy seems to be saying that the Muslims went back to the original teachings. It was very interesting. I don't think many Christians actually know a lot about early Christianity and how it was formed, they should read up on it.
Adam and Eve is muslim...
Adam n Eve never meet Jesus and his mother Mary. Adam only pray to God which we call Allah
So we Muslim believed all prophet from Adam to Noah to Abraham, Moses and Jesus is Muslim. Muslim means submission to ONE GOD (ALLAH). Have you all heard of about Pauline Christian? Google it, you will understand about how the early Christian is all about
I enjoyed listening to the guy.
Nice day bro 🎉
Thanks buddy!
Was it Bob Dylan that sang ‘everybody believes in something’?
I think it was mate.
The muslim guy in the masjid just explaining Islamic faith.. not to invite you into that faith.. its up to you to believe it or not as he already sent the God's message. His duty to God is fulfilled. There is no compulsion in Islam.. have a great day in Malaysia brother.
For sure! It was good listening to him. Thank you my friend 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne my pleasure brother👍👍
POV: English man returns to the crime scene 😂😂 jkjk welcome to Malaysia brother
Cheers buddy 👍👍
Lol mate, you walked into a May Day protest, by some of the worker-centric/left-wing/labour parties in Malaysia. No worries 'cos Malaysia largely allows peaceful gatherings.
Sure, it's been like this most days 👍
There's official warnings of heatwave all over Malaysia right now...take care sir
Yes, all over SE Asia. Thanks
I hope Malaysian streets can be cleaner. There is just too much litter and vandalism all over the place. This is evident from 24:10 onward, full of rubbish and beggars on both sides of the road. Malaysian are quite picky when it comes to ensuring the food and fashion are halal or not, I hope they also care about cleanliness and tidiness.
I thought most of KL was clean, this was one homeless part I came across. Very clean city from what I seen though .
fair observation . the spread of the city is so quick n yet th funds for civil services haven't grown commensurately. but slowly-slowly as we say
Hello mate!
Hey ya mate
Nearly! ‘Gotta serve somebody’….. even you mate!
👍👍
Come back
I'll be back soon.
I don't object to the founders of rhe great religions. It is the priests and organizers who make all the "have to or else" laws and rules that keep the "business" going.
I have my own beliefs but it was good to listen to that guy speak.
Yes. The Muslim hate here after 9/11 was scary.
Hindu temples are stunning. Really impressive sculpture work. I think there is a similar temple in Bangkok also (same name). Likely the workers brought the tradition with them when l]they left south India so many years ago to live in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc
Yes, very stunning temples
You are 200 years too late lah ...... should have come with Francis Light lah .....
Never to late son 👍
U just take as a information not to follow nor Believe brother. We all have different opinions n belief. Islam is our religion for most of M'sian
For sure buddy! I have my religion already 👍
Homeless n foriengner worker esp bangladseh n nepal make our country dirty 😢
So true
Sorry to hear that 😒
Homeless that don't do drugs ain't that bad. They are just the unfortunate ones. If you look carefully many are old folks. So sad. At least in Malaysia they don't die of hunger.
At least Allah sent you to that spoke person so you can use you 3 senses that the man was told you to think and find the truth about the truth religion. May Allah guidance you my brother.
I already have my own religion buddy. But, thank you 🙏
MasyaAllah Alhamdulillah 🕌🌙🤲🤲🤲
Welcome to Malaysia.
Hopefully you enjoy your stay..:
MALAYSIA BOLEH..!!! 🌷❤️🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾😁💪💪💪💪 💖🌹
Thank you! 🙏🇲🇾
The people who just hang out, on their phones are not Malaysian. All of them are foreigners, and most of them are from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. There are some issues when these people ruin the beauty of our City, most states, these people always spoil the view of our city. They also throw rubbish everywhere and make disgusting perks. 23:41 They make our country like their homeland
👍👍. Malaysia is a great country, I enjoyed my time here.
most of the people you saw on the street are not local.
Yes, many different people about.
Hope dbkl take action of that area which full of homeless people
It was sad to see, I hope they can het help.
Tak perlu nak compare to other religion and telling people that other religion adalah salah. Just respect other believe ok
Huh???
Sorry mate I wasn’t talking about you, I am talking about the religious man in the mosque comparing which religion is right and telling people Christian is wrong
nice one Wayne visiting all the non touristy bits. The Muslim rituals seem very OCD but whadda i know? Nice job saying uh huh every once in awhile🤣Stay safe
Cheers buddy 👍👍
I would've been tossed in jail for sharing my faith openly like that in Malaysia. Very strict religious laws. One thing I was concerned about when I was there.
Concerned? Did you want to talk about your religion?
Without saying too much, I did some aid work whilst there, and it was made very clear not to talk about my faith or risk jail. Still had a wonderful experience and would like to return one day.
My original comment was more about how strict their laws are when it comes to openly sharing faith other than Islam. When I saw the Imam saying Paul was wrong about his doctrine and whatnot, it really reminded me about that side of their religious laws.
You can share your religion in Malaysia as long as they r non muslims. Anyway, i think the people in ur own country need more guidance than us muslims😊.
@@scotsaulGo to jail for talking about your religion in Malaysia ?What rubbish and nonsense🤔🤔 Actually You can preach about your religion loudly and publicly to all non-muslim Malaysians (35% of the population.). Freedom to practise any religion is stated in Malaysian constitution🫡🫡
lol..maybe u just dont know the written laws in your own religius book..@@scotsaul
Sorry bud, can't do it..
No worries, stick to Thailand.
It a bit of a boring place.
Haha, Kuala Lumpur is the least boring city I’ve ever been too.
U @bobwelonia the most boring animal here. Why are u here? Having boring life, right. Get lost!
