I actually filmed this twice, and the browned butter was for a doubled recipe. I didn't even realize it until just now! The recipe on the blog is the correct recipe for 1 batch. I'm sorry to make that confusing. 😜
I printed out your recipe listed above, then followed along as you made this, the printed recipe says 1 stick of butter, I did that and my butter, brown sugar and choc chips looked thick and dry, so I replayed that portion of your video and noticed you used 2 sticks, so I browned another stick and mixed it into my original butter, brown sugar and choc chips then continued with the rest of the recipe, and the recipe turned out perfect. I'm concerned that you might want to change "1 stick of butter to 2 sticks of butter" in the printed recipe as it still has that amount listed. We are enjoying these brownies. Thank you for another wonderful fmf recipe.
Kara, I just made these and my family absolutely loved them. They said “these are the best brownies you have ever made”. Of course I gave you credit and told them that you are the best milled fresh flour baker I know. You are so gifted and I thank the Lord for you! Please keep those recipes coming 😋
Yes! That is my favorite way, and I feel it is a bit more accurate for me as well! But, I will continue to write my recipes in weight, volume, and volume of wheat berries! Because I want all bakers to be able to try out my recipes! And we are all different, and have different preferences, and I love that! ❤
@@GrainsInSmallPlaces that is so kind of you! I have only been milling wheat berries for about a year! I still have so much to learn, and I really appreciate your videos!
Just made these. They are so good! For the sugar I did about 200g of coconut sugar instead of brown sugar and they still came out great with a nice crisp on top 😁 thank you for this recipe!
Thanks! You are a great at this and I truly thank you for your helpful videos . I hope for my and your sake you take it up a notch and try more ways to make your recipes healthier ❤ fresh milled flour is a great start ! To are health ! 🏡
Kara, Have you used dutch processed cocoa powder? Wondering how/if that enriches the chocolate flavor? Or if i would need to tweak anything else if i used dutch processed instead of regular.

@GrainsInSmallPlaces so you only doubled the butter? The rest of the recipe ingredients are the same as the video. I'm going to go by the video butter amount and hope it's not too much butter.
I filmed me doing a double batch first, but then I didn't get the whole thing. So I had to remake and film it again with a single batch. but my clip of the double butter must have stayed in.
Yes, that is correct. I used 1 stick to make one batch. The written recipe is the accurate one! Thanks for letting me know, 😉 so I am not confused when someone else asks me, lol. (silly cameras and electronics make filming so fun!)😜

I wish there was a fresh milled bakery!
Yum! That would be amazing!

It should work just the same. Let me know how it turns out!
Can we make this with only cocoa powder & no chips? Thank you
I think it would work just fine, just do like 1/2 cup cocoa powder.
Your printed recipe calls for 1 stick - 1/2 cup of butter, but you used 2 sticks in your video.

@GrainsInSmallPlaces ok, so you didn't really use 2 sticks? I should use the recipe as written on your website?
Yes, that is correct. I used 1 stick to make one batch. The written recipe is the accurate one! Thanks for letting me know, 😉 so I am not confused when someone else asks me, lol. (silly cameras and electronics make filming so fun!)😜
