As in right now, do you "feel" that your metabolism have been permanently alter in a way that is harder for you to lose weight and easier to gain weight ? Is your glucose in the normal range, prediabetes or diabetic range ? Metabolism structure in general, anything abnormal ?

Get him off that stuff TODAY. Im autistic i went through the same things. You have lobotomized him. Im still in agony from my brain injury. Id also if youll listen recommend fish oil. @0g omega 3 a day from now on. He can heal from the injury. But make no mistake Antipsychotics cause lobotomy. They were invented by nazis as chemical restraints as the transorbital and electroshock were being phased out in France as seen to linked to the nazi eugenics program. Not at all helpful dealing with autism and a frontal lobotomy. get him help today before its too late

Omg it's so heartwarming to hear how he's rebuilding a life that he wants (a life worth living!) and seeking experiences he missed out on in young adulthood :) I'm still dependent on mirtazapine for the time being, was hoping I could find a way to taper without horrific withdrawals for too long.

    Thank you.
Russel B' s trauma is similar to my sons, perhaps accentuated with him speaking to court welfare officers from the age of 2 years upto 14.
He was forcibly taken for weekends, long weekend stays and half holidays from 2 years onwards against his will.

Russel is such an inspiration! His journey is very similar to my own (currently deprescribing from a massive psychiatric drug cocktail). Most of my life was sidelined from childhood into my late 20s thanks to these drugs. I still have a ways to go, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel regardless of the struggle

    • @russellbyt
      @russellbyt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Thanks for your really kind, supportive words! To answer that sleep question:
At this point, whether or not I get good sleep often comes down to stress levels and lifestyle choices. It’s hard to get good sleep if I’m super stressed, or if I have too much caffeine or were to eat a sugared-up piece of cake or something right before bed (which I don’t normally do, Lol). But that's kinda normal, right?
I’m not in the situation I used to be where I needed Seroquel and/or Ambien and (insert pharmaceutical here) to help me fall asleep and stay asleep each night. I only needed all that because that’s what my body was used to.
As for talk therapy: I’m not currently doing it. Might do some in the future. Just need to have a good reason for it. Really want it to be my choice as an adult after having been in therapy for so long when I was young, and couldn’t _truly_ make up my own mind about going. By the time I could make up my own mind and really understood what it meant to be a participant in therapy, it was more a habit than a conscious choice. And I was just there anyway to help me deal with all the problems others were causing me and didn’t yet have a good idea of what my own issues were, if that makes sense.
      -Russell B

Thank you Russell so much. Sending love to continue healing your lineage. You are amazing and inspiring. I think it’s in someways, depending on the perspective unfortunate that you described the benefit you were receiving from the psychiatrist offering psychotherapy in addition to the medication management, but I really see it as something. I wanna praise. not all Psychiatrists utilize psychotherapy with med management and I am so thankful that you had the opportunity to benefit from it, obviously it sounds like it would’ve been more ideal. Maybe to try psychotherapy first and then layer on medication as needed, however, I just want to say how happy I am to hear that you landed in a place where a psychiatrist offered beneficial psychotherapy.

Gosh, doing this to an 11 year old? I always wondered why a doctor would let a patient add on weight until 400lbs…were they observing him frequently? Was the psychiatrist noting his labs for metabolic issues? He had concerns and voiced them, but the psychiatrist response was inappropriate. It’s hard hearing all this malpractice.

There are studies on that !

It’s just so obvious that you have this child, who has parents at war, would have physical symptoms. It also makes common sense that this child would also develop OCD as a desperate attempt at controlling something, anything, in his chaotic environment.

The question is: Will your biological mechanism in the cellular level return to normal after quitting antipsychotics? Clearly the energy expenditure has changed and losing weight is difficult. Even if it is successful, it is independent to glucose structure.
Such horrific drug with severe horrible side effects can be publish into the society / system and not banned. No wonder people lose trust in the medical system.

The brain uses a lot of energy when creating thoughts and emotions so when it’s ruined by psych drugs it will no longer burn as much calories as before similar to how an amputee needs less calories because he no longer has legs or arms to feed. Once the brain heals metabolism will go back to normal
