  • On our first trip to the Seychelles, we had the opportunity to stay at JA Enchanted Island Resort which is a unique private island resort just off the coast of Mahé. Their concept of “Robinson Crusoe” holds true, while being incredibly accessible to travelers. We had an incredible time at this resort so read on to find out what to expect when you stay at JA Enchanted Island.
    In the review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know:
    00:00 - Intro
    00:39 - JA Enchanted Island Location
    03:33 - JA Enchanted Island Lobby & Check in
    04:35 - JA Enchanted Island Rooms
    07:58 - JA Enchanted Island Service
    09:17 - JA Enchanted Island Dining
    12:06 - JA Enchanted Island Facilities
    14:49 - JA Enchanted Island Style
    JA Enchanted Island is located approximately 15 minutes off the coast of the mainland of Mahé. After landing at the airport, it’s a quick 5 minute drive to the dock and a 10-15 minute boat ride to the resort. Offering a private island experience so close to Mahé is amazing because you are off the flight and on island time within an hour. The property is also located within a nature reserve, Ste. Anne Marine National Park. Moyenne Island is famously located right next to JA Enchanted Island and is known for its pirate graves and tortoise habitat. The proximity to both Moyenne and the surrounding islands makes JA a great jumping-off point to explore the surroundings via kayak or paddle board.
    The check in experience at JA Enchanted Island begins before you step foot on the island itself. We were picked up at the airport and taken straight to the dock at the sister property, JA Waterfront Lodge to board the quick 10-15 minute boat ride to the property. The staff were friendly, helpful and told us about the area on our way to the hotel. Once you arrive at the island, you are taken on a buggy to the lobby/restaurant just a few seconds, literally, away. We received a lovely welcome beverage during check in at a beautifully decorated table in the restaurant. The whole check in process was easy and efficient and we were whisked away to our villa by buggy within a few minutes.
    There are 13 rooms on property today including private pool villas, residences and 2 new categories: Hilltop Rooms and the Hilltop Villa. We were checked into a Private Pool Villa called Villa Lagati and it was my favorite of that room type on the entire island. Most of these villas are fairly private from the walkway, but definitely request this villa if you are looking for the most private experience as you cannot see into any part of the villa from the path. Some of the villas are closer to the walkway so you can see into the pool area or outdoor dining area from the path. Sitting at 1,400 square feet, the villa comprises a studio-style bedroom with a king bed, sitting area and desk. There are floor to ceiling windows looking out over the lagoon and outdoor lounge area as well as vaulted ceilings.

    Thank you for the great review! Very thoughtful and detailed - well done! How do the Seychelles compare to the Maldives in your experience? Thanks again!

      So glad you enjoyed it! They're actually quite different, Seychelles has a very unique look, with the granite boulders and much higher elevations than Maldives islands. The biggest difference is the price though, Seychelles is on average more expensive, and has less selection (less competition) than the Maldives. Both are incredible destinations though! Have you seen the destination guides on our website?

    Excellent video. My partner and I are travelling to very similar areas. Amazing channel and videos. We are currently in Lux Le Mourne in Mauritius and we are heading to the Four Seasons Anahita tomorrow. We feel like we are a few weeks behind your tour :) We were hoping you visited the Four Seasons in Seychelles as that will be our next destination after we finish with Mauritius :D :D

      Hey Nauar! Thanks so much for your comment!! Wow sounds like a WONDERFUL trip! How is Lux Le Mourne? We did not make it to Four Seasons Seychelles this trip but let us know how it is!!

    • @nauarknightly8550

      @@VoyagerGuru Lux Le Mourne is a fantastic location which can't be beat when it comes to the views you have when you're wandering around or walking on the beach. Its very picturesque. I would say that 3 days is more than enough in Lux as their dining options are limited and its felt a bit cramped with a lot of people around (especially on a weekend being a public beach). Plenty of activities there with boat tours, dolphins, horse riding etc etc....
      When it comes to strictly hotel factors FS has them beat in almost every category. We were in the Shangri La - Le Tousserock last year and they again have a much more private luxurious resort experience than Le Mourne but I suppose they all have their individual selling points.
      Keep making videos as you have two big fans :)

      @@nauarknightly8550 thank you so much for this!! This is really helpful feedback, both for us and for other people! It's interesting to hear that that it gets a bit cramped and crowded. And thank you so much for the compliment!! we are leaving for a month long trip in the Maldives right now so stay tuned!! :) xx Maren

    Wonderful Video and very helpful, a lot of appreciation. Thank you
    I have a question though, if i book only breakfast formula, how much do you think that a dinner will cost in that Hotel Restaurant?
    Do you have by any chance the picture of the menu ? thanks again

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! Thanks for your comment. The prices were quite high at the restaurant - I’d say if you have a cocktail or glass of wine with dinner you’d be paying around $200 USD minimum for 2. I hope this helps!

    How about a new category for pricing? Would be great to know.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gergina! Thanks for your comment and the feedback! Pricing is a little bit hard because it can vary so dramatically from day to day and season to season. This property in particular is certainly in the higher price point for the area and rates seem to hover around $1,000+ typically. I hope this helps!

    Thank you for posting this video. We plan on visiting this hotel for our honeymoon this December.
    We wanted to know the $ cost of
    1) Avg lunch/dinner for a couple at Bounty
    2) Activities (snorkeling, kayak)
    3) Romantic dinner
    Can you please help us out as it will help us to get an idea of the total cost ?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kalyan! Thanks for reaching out!That sounds like a wonderful trip. The cost of food in the seychelles is fairly high in general, so I would account for $75-100 per person per meal. They do have a optional themed dinner every evening and that costs about $100 per person. Activities like kayaking are included and you can borrow a kayak from the front desk any time :). There is no snorkeling immediately around the island, so I would stick to kayaking. The romantic dinner is, I believe, around $150 for setup plus food so an additional $200-250 on top of the setup fee. If you need any help booking or have more questions, feel free to reach out!

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Linda! It is not adults only but we didn't see any families while we were there. I probably wouldn't recommend the hotel for families with small kids because there are a lot of steps and not a lot of amenities for children. it's more of a romantic spot than a family-oriented hotel
