Great video. Definitely catch myself doing that sometimes. I have a black norwegian elkhound. High prey drive, easily distracted by the environment, classic "stubborn" behavior as most northern/spitz type breeds are. Then you come across someone with a herding/retriever breed and it seems so much easier in comparison. 😅 You start wondering how far along you would've been with how much effort you put in if you had a food-driven Lab or Golden or something like that. Keep up the good work!
@@Needlerh3 I've met some lovely Spitz breeds but not a Norwegian Elkhound, I can just imagine the generations of hunting in them though. It sounds like you're already at a place where you can be mindful and understand what type of dog you have and perhaps the limitations. I think wondering what could have been is totally normal but something we are made to feel guilty of. I sometimes wonder what would have been in many different ways, but also need to remember all the ways I am grateful for the amazing dogs I have regardless of their flaws and quirks 😊
