There's not one performance live by Floor or Tarja than isn't absolutely great. I follow them since 1998 and I saw them 3 times in concert, still need to seem them with Floor :P Can't wait for their next show in Montreal.
I love this, never heard of the band but know I think I'm addicted to this woman's voice. It's awesome to see someone react to live videos of bands when in concert. @@CypherReacts Just be warned Poet and the Pendulum was sampled by a German rapper and often gets flagged for copyright. The most common way to combat that is FREQUENT pauses. One of the only Nightwish songs to have this issue.

You can pick literally any song from that concert and it will have something that'll blow your mind. They have improved since then in some ways as there's been an album since then (and a new one next month) so even more fantastic songs. The drummer had to retire due to severe insomnia, but the new one is his friend / teacher and an absolute beast too. Not sure if you've seen the 6th member Troy yet? He's British and plays Irish bagpipes, flutes, guitars and sings too.

Loved this reaction! That show was almost two hours long, in front of 82.000 people and literally every performance is like this. Welcome to the world of Nightwish and the goddess that is Floor Jansen (she can also do death growls). Other songs from this concert I would recommend; Song of Myself, Ghost River and Romanticide - those are all on the heavier side. Besides Wacken '13, there are other live shows like Wembley '16, Tampere '15 and Buenos Aires '18. Hope you do more! You got a sub from me 👍
Nightwish best served live. They are always brilliant live. You can go to any concert of theirs and know the show will be awesome. If you guys are uk they are touring end of this year but you would want to look at tickets quick...

Well, this is a great compilation of classic NW performances at Wacken2013. You did this well! There's tons of material to go. It's gonna be fun for you an for us. Are they as good now as they were in 2013? They are better, they have had time to get accustomed to each other as bandmates. Floor(the singer had only been with the band for 9 months when this was recorded. She took over in 2012 on 48 hours notice when Nightwish fired their former singer in the middle of their 2012 US tour. I saw them in her 5 show and she was amazing. As to now, they are on top of their game and gaining momentum everyday. They are a live, visual band, live you get to see the passion and emotion they put into every song. They are currently the best live band in the world.
Guys, that was great. As a Scottish person myself I've never actually met a proper Nightwish fan in real life (and I have lots of metal friends)....and that's a national scandal. So great to see another two fans added. I look forward to part 3 and also Jinjer. I love Jinjer, and so do you. I can see a bottle of the stuff on your shelf.

First: congratulations! You picked three absolute masterpieces of Nightwish from the concert in Wacken 2013 for your reaction - but: this concert itself is a masterpiece, in my opinion THE gold-standard of doing a live performance. You can't fail with any of their songs from THIS concert. All are epic in quality of sound, of Floor (the singer) and performance. As you mentioned, Floor has a fantastic stage presence and it is not only pure fun to watch her, she also has the ability to let you FEEL music, and not just listen to. As I said, all songs are epic, but especially take a look at "Song of myself" (awesome and as heavy as "Storytime"), "Amaranth" and "Nemo" (both comparable to "Ever Dream") and "Last ride of the day" (pure energy, I recommend not only the song itself, but also the "Intro" to this song, where Floor talks to the audience). You find newer stuff on the "Wembley 2015" concert (Top notch: "Shudder before the beautiful", "Yours is an empty hope", "7 days to the wolves" and, of course, "The poet and the pendulum" (for this I recommend a little research). Then Tampere 2015 (in Finland, their homecountry) with the songs "My Walden", "The Islander" (Marco, the bassist, sings), "Weak Fantasy", "Alpenglow" and "Stargazers". Fresh from the DVD/CD "Decades" in Buenos Aires 2018 I recommend especially "Dead Boy's Poem" (wunderful ballad with [of course as always, you know] fantastic vocals of Floor), "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" and "Slaying the Dreamer". Enough said... one last sentence: I have watched hundreds of reaction videos to my favorite band Nightwish, since I rediscovered them two years ago. Very rare, that I have so much fun watching it like this one. Thank you for that. For special moments, I have a bottle of my favorite whiskey "Dalwhinnie". After watching ~4 Minutes I knew: this is a special moment and I filled my glass. Really loved this half an hour with you both, and guess what? It felt like 10 minutes... Greetings from Germany! You two just made my day, no week! I'm a 71yr old yank who was introduced to this band a little over a year ago by our 43yr old son, and I've been an avid fan ever since. First song for me was the Wacken performance of Ghost Love Score and I had the same stunned reaction you did. This reaction by the two of you to three of my favorite songs from my favorite live concert video was as entertaining as the songs themselves. I'm a subscriber as I want to join you on your Nightwish adventure. Every song is unique and in their live performances, which I prefer, their stage presence and production quality is beyond compare. @@CypherReactsFloor Jansen is from Holland as was the singer before her, Anette Olzon. Nightwish's first singer, Tarja Turunen, was from Finland, as is the band. In my opinion this performance is the greatest Symphonic Metal concert in that genre's history. Floor Jansen is a trained opera singer with a four octave vocal range who fell in love with Symphonic Metal after her opera training school and is the founder of three Metal bands. She was also a professional bodybuilder and is 6'2" 200+lbs. She is bigger and taller than everybody else in the band. Look at her arms and shoulders and you will see how big she really is, even though she has not competed in years(she is 39 years old). She still works out to stay in shape for Nightwish's grueling world tours. After she left her last band with burnout, Tuomas Holopainen, the co-founder with Turunen of Nightwish, contacted Floor with an offer to be Nightwish's Frontwoman. She accepted, and after many days of rehearsals, they played Wacken. Floor participated in a Dutch music show called Beste Zangers(Best Singers)last year and she was very well-received by the Dutch people, few of whom had ever heard of her. Her duet with Dutch opera singer Henk Poort on the great opera song 'Phantom of the Opera' is the last performance on that show and the best. She hits a D6 on the last note, the highest note I have ever heard her sing. Check it out. On a sadder note, the great drummer Jukka Nevalainen has retired from performing because of constantly recurring insomnia. His former mentor has replaced him.

Nice selection. If you were to do part 3 or more, do the other live shows - there is one from Wembley and then the recently released from Buenos Aires 2018. At Wembley they were touring on first album to feature Floor on vocals. Highlights would be Shudder Before the Beautiful, Your is Empty Hope, Alpenglow. Another is Poet and Pendulum, another 10+ minute powerhouse, but I hear it's more difficult to get past copyright issues, unless you do a bunch of breaks. Buenos Aires was for their greatest hits with a bunch of older stuff. Tough to pick a few highlights, but perhaps Dead Boy's Poem, possibly their best ever ballad, Gethsemane, and either Kinslayer, Sacrament of Wilderness, or Slaying the Dreamer.
@@CypherReacts you should you haven't seen Troy live yet! He's the multi-instrumentalist of the band he joined the same time as Floor. He can also sing so My Walden live at Tampere and the Carpenter from the Decades tour please. Also Tuomas, the keyboardist, and Troy have a band together with Tuomas's wife. It's called Auri and is a bit different but I think you'll like it. Auri only has one album... Auri. So from Auri: Desert Flower (Troy sings on this one), I Hope Your World is kind and Night 13.
Wacken was an epic show from beginning to end. 82K+ people and Nightwish was the headlining act. You have just discovered The Queen of Symphonic Metal. Floor Jansen (Yahnsen) from The Netherlands and the most powerful female vocalist on the planet! Nightwish is about to release a new CD and start a world tour in April 2020. You two sound Scottish? If so they already have shows schedule for London Wembley arena and Cardiff in December. They will probably add some more UK shows in the next couple of months. They are also set to do the summer festival circuit in Europe this year. This was only about 10 months after Floor joined Nightwish. They probably have improved since then. Floor is a highly trained vocalist . She attended the Rock academy in The Netherlands when she was a teenager. Since then she has had operatic training and also some musical theater training. Her charisma and stage presence are off the charts and as you just heard she has amazing power and vocal range. There is so much more to see and hear from this brilliant band of musicians. From Metal to celtic folk and beautiful ballads they are not stuck in one style. They can play beautiful or aggressive heavy music. With the key emphasis on MUSIC. Check out "Romanticide" from this same show or maybe something more recent like "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" live from Buenos Aires 2018. Loved watching Adelina's expressions. I think she could pull of the windmill just like Floor! I just subbed. Floor appeared in Beste Zangers 2019 not 2008. I won't argue with the rest. It's worth checking out. The whole season of the tv show was awesome. Basicly the concept: They gathered 7 singers from different genres. Each week 1 artist was in spotlight with the host and the rest of them sang songs that the artist performed (so covers of their own) or songs that have a special meaning to them. The final 8th episode ends with duets.

Decided to watch your Nightwish journey, it's always exicitig to see people making this major discovery in their lives. For me, this happened in 2007 when I accidentally stumbled across Amaranth video with Annette. The million of comments on that video took me to an "End of an Era" and I immediately became hooked on Nightwish and the old songs and the haunting stories of unrequited love and the magic created by Tuomas and the band, for ever. Bought all their albums, some beautiful deep meaningful music was created right up until Floor joined them in 2012. And a New Era started, Nightwish came alive once more! We now have a name: the Nightwish Army. We will be watching you experience this and hope you will grow to appreciate them and even like them (beyond "Well done Nightwish 👏👏👏) New sub here for you! Nightwish are good live. Period. The Wacken 2013 show was magical, though. Fifteen songs and they nailed every single one. The bass player's name is Marko Hietala and he has a solo album just out; if you like his voice that's really worth the time as well. The opening single, "Stones," is on TH-cam. ...And Nightwish has a new album coming up. The first single, "Noise," is also available on TH-cam. The music is called symphonic metal and is very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded in 1996. So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzon (Swedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley ( a multi instrumentalist from the UK) The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. Them being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions. They have the long epic multipart full production type songs like Ghost Love Score, The Poet and the Pendulum or The Greatest Show on Earth.. Then they have several of the more classic thrash heavy metal style songs like Romanticide, Song of Myself or Dark Chest of Wonders.. They even have a very celtic rock sound going on in songs like E'lan or My Walden.. You chose, but the Nightwish Army loves it all..

Yeah, everybody's feeling it. Just about 80k audience :) The male singer is the bassist. The guitarist is the guy running around the stage (he can't stay put in one place) and throws his guitar picks for the audience, takes a beer break, just in time to come in on his turn. In an older video the keyboardist poured wine from a bottle in the guitarist's his mouth while they were playing. Well, actually not the keyboardist, he had a small break. The keyboardist is their main composer.
Personally, I think that Nightwish is riding the very crest of their abilities right now. They are flying high and I am so excited for their next album and the upcoming tour. I’m going to be seeing them live in Hollywood come September, and it’s going to be my first time at one of their concerts, and I am so stoked I can’t even express how excited I am. They are on tour in Europe and South America this year, so you may be able to find tickets in your area, but they may be sold out, they’ve been on sale for a couple months, I think.
There are some good studio songs worth checking, like Noise (their brand new single from Feb this year), or Amaranth. But you can 1st react to all the Waken songs - that was an epic kick ass concert to quote one Nightwish member

If they are good today? They are awesome, more mature and able to basically do anything as one of the biggest metal bands in the world. Try doing this triplet: Slaying the dreamer - Live in Buenos aires 2018, 10th Man down - live in buenos aires 2018 and Dead Boys poem - Live in Buenos Aires 2018. Also you are still missing two masterpieces : The poet and the pendulum (live at wembley ) and The Greatest Show on Earth (live in Tampere). These two are best to make one reaction video for each. There is not a bad Nightwish song.
My fav 3 songs from the concert. Great. They released a live DVD in December thata was recorded in Buenos Aires in 2018 you can check out some songs from that to see what they sound like now. Can you checck out from Their Tampere and Wembley shows in 2015 Alpenglow and Shudder Before the Beautiful. Up-tempo, fun tracks. If you are ready for it you could also take on The Greatest Show On Earth from Tampere, but it is well over 15 minutes. Adelina is a lovely reactor too.
Every of their performance from Wacken 2013 was stunning and Ghost Love Score was the highlight. Here's my recommendation for another great live performance from different show: The Poet and The Pendulum - live from Wembley The Greatest Show on Earth - live from Tampere Dead Boy's Poem - live from Buenos Aires.
And 6es Nightwish is best served as live. They have such a good spirit in band, also their fans are happy, audience is men and women about equal amount. And many generations represent there too. It cool to see that Finnish band enjoys so much fan base and so diverse. And everyone is happy in their concerts.
Thank you for your great reaction! just keep up with the official live concerts and you won't be disappointed, not that the studio versions are bad but the live performances are much more energetic. Wacken 2013 is the best start. Tampere and Wembley have the most recent sogs while Buones Aires 2018 has many old great songs. btw these are all shows with the latest singer, imo the best :)

After going through some turmoil with Tarja and Anette, Nightwish got totally blessed with Floor. She's just the total package that completes the band. She deserves so much credit because she literally had to learn their setlist in 2 days before coming in and helping them finish their US tour in 2012. Consider that these performances were in 2013, she was in the band just a year give or take a month and she OWNS these songs!

I would say maybe 2018 Buenos Aires Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Slaying the Dreamer and then for example High Hopes, Islander or While Your Lips Are Still Red to hear basist Marko’s voice better.

Yeah! We did notice that, we’ve been having problems with my microphone creating a really annoying buzz so I have a second screen setup that I use to monitor the audio levels while I film to make sure the buzzing comes back, because when it comes, it ruins my audio and video completely

Hello hello hello. First time watching your show. I haven't decided to sub for your show yet. But you are on the right track by playing nightwish 2013 concert. There isn't a bad song on this whole concert.the night which army is here and they will let you know and what songs to play in all the band members and info that you will need to know. This is just the start as for Nightwish.. As for the Wacken 2013, you should do "Romanticide" Song of Myself" Dark Chest of Wonders" Then "Ghost River" if you want to get into some heavier songs. Every single song they do at this performance is excellent but these are just a few you should do from Wacken 2013.. Then you can really blow your mind by moving on to Wembley Arena..
She is the third singer of the group, had a short time in nightwish before this live, but it gave her time to improvise, change and add arrangements in the songs and they are perfect as well. In addition all those around her receive + 15% / sec of healing and +5 attack
Like I said: Nightwish is best enjoyed live. 😉 And no, they have not degraded at all, they are improving. Nightwish is the ultimate live band. Their shows from Wembley Arena 2015, Tampere 2015 and their most recent Decades tour, Buenos Aires 2018 are all stunning. Each show is different though, and they all have their own highlights. A new album is coming out in april called Human :||: Nature and it looks very promising. The name of the singer is the Dutch Floor Jansen (pronounced as Yahnsen), and she joined the band in 2012 when they were in the middle of the Imaginareum world tour and their previous singer suddenly left the band. Floor was flewn in to Seattle to take over the lead and finish the tour. She had two days to learn the setlist while travelling before the next show. Wacken was one of the last shows on this world tour in august 2013. She had been with the band for 10 months at that time. Amazing eh? Both the band and Floor have been around for 20 years already. Floor has been in two other bands and a lot of side projects before she joined Nightwish. She already was a household name in the European metal scene. Floor’s powerful voice is a force of nature that has no peer. She is the queen of versatility, she masters all techniques, including opera and growls.

There's not one performance live by Floor or Tarja than isn't absolutely great. I follow them since 1998 and I saw them 3 times in concert, still need to seem them with Floor :P Can't wait for their next show in Montreal.

@@CypherReacts Just be warned Poet and the Pendulum was sampled by a German rapper and often gets flagged for copyright. The most common way to combat that is FREQUENT pauses. One of the only Nightwish songs to have this issue.

They have improved since then in some ways as there's been an album since then (and a new one next month) so even more fantastic songs. The drummer had to retire due to severe insomnia, but the new one is his friend / teacher and an absolute beast too. Not sure if you've seen the 6th member Troy yet? He's British and plays Irish bagpipes, flutes, guitars and sings too.

Welcome to the world of Nightwish and the goddess that is Floor Jansen (she can also do death growls). Other songs from this concert I would recommend; Song of Myself, Ghost River and Romanticide - those are all on the heavier side. Are they as good now as they were in 2013? They are better, they have had time to get accustomed to each other as bandmates. Floor(the singer had only been with the band for 9 months when this was recorded. She took over in 2012 on 48 hours notice when Nightwish fired their former singer in the middle of their 2012 US tour. I saw them in her 5 show and she was amazing. As to now, they are on top of their game and gaining momentum everyday. They are a live, visual band, live you get to see the passion and emotion they put into every song. They are currently the best live band in the world.
Guys, that was great. As a Scottish person myself I've never actually met a proper Nightwish fan in real life (and I have lots of metal friends)....and that's a national scandal. So great to see another two fans added. I look forward to part 3 and also Jinjer. I love Jinjer, and so do you. I can see a bottle of the stuff on your shelf.

First: congratulations! You picked three absolute masterpieces of Nightwish from the concert in Wacken 2013 for your reaction - but: this concert itself is a masterpiece, in my opinion THE gold-standard of doing a live performance. You can't fail with any of their songs from THIS concert. All are epic in quality of sound, of Floor (the singer) and performance. As you mentioned, Floor has a fantastic stage presence and it is not only pure fun to watch her, she also has the ability to let you FEEL music, and not just listen to.
As I said, all songs are epic, but especially take a look at "Song of myself" (awesome and as heavy as "Storytime"), "Amaranth" and "Nemo" (both comparable to "Ever Dream") and "Last ride of the day" (pure energy, I recommend not only the song itself, but also the "Intro" to this song, where Floor talks to the audience).
You find newer stuff on the "Wembley 2015" concert (Top notch: "Shudder before the beautiful", "Yours is an empty hope", "7 days to the wolves" and, of course, "The poet and the pendulum" (for this I recommend a little research).
Then Tampere 2015 (in Finland, their homecountry) with the songs "My Walden", "The Islander" (Marco, the bassist, sings), "Weak Fantasy", "Alpenglow" and "Stargazers".
Fresh from the DVD/CD "Decades" in Buenos Aires 2018 I recommend especially "Dead Boy's Poem" (wunderful ballad with [of course as always, you know] fantastic vocals of Floor), "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" and "Slaying the Dreamer".
Enough said... one last sentence: I have watched hundreds of reaction videos to my favorite band Nightwish, since I rediscovered them two years ago. Very rare, that I have so much fun watching it like this one. Thank you for that. For special moments, I have a bottle of my favorite whiskey "Dalwhinnie". After watching ~4 Minutes I knew: this is a special moment and I filled my glass. Really loved this half an hour with you both, and guess what? It felt like 10 minutes... Greetings from Germany! First song for me was the Wacken performance of Ghost Love Score and I had the same stunned reaction you did. @@CypherReactsFloor Jansen is from Holland as was the singer before her, Anette Olzon. Nightwish's first singer, Tarja Turunen, was from Finland, as is the band. In my opinion this performance is the greatest Symphonic Metal concert in that genre's history.
Floor Jansen is a trained opera singer with a four octave vocal range who fell in love with Symphonic Metal after her opera training school and is the founder of three Metal bands. She was also a professional bodybuilder and is 6'2" 200+lbs. She is bigger and taller than everybody else in the band. Look at her arms and shoulders and you will see how big she really is, even though she has not competed in years(she is 39 years old). She still works out to stay in shape for Nightwish's grueling world tours.
After she left her last band with burnout, Tuomas Holopainen, the co-founder with Turunen of Nightwish, contacted Floor with an offer to be Nightwish's Frontwoman. She accepted, and after many days of rehearsals, they played Wacken.
Floor participated in a Dutch music show called Beste Zangers(Best Singers)last year and she was very well-received by the Dutch people, few of whom had ever heard of her. Her duet with Dutch opera singer Henk Poort on the great opera song 'Phantom of the Opera' is the last performance on that show and the best. She hits a D6 on the last note, the highest note I have ever heard her sing. Check it out.
On a sadder note, the great drummer Jukka Nevalainen has retired from performing because of constantly recurring insomnia. His former mentor has replaced him.

Nice selection. If you were to do part 3 or more, do the other live shows - there is one from Wembley and then the recently released from Buenos Aires 2018. At Wembley they were touring on first album to feature Floor on vocals. Highlights would be Shudder Before the Beautiful, Your is Empty Hope, Alpenglow. Another is Poet and Pendulum, another 10+ minute powerhouse, but I hear it's more difficult to get past copyright issues, unless you do a bunch of breaks. Buenos Aires was for their greatest hits with a bunch of older stuff. Tough to pick a few highlights, but perhaps Dead Boy's Poem, possibly their best ever ballad, Gethsemane, and either Kinslayer, Sacrament of Wilderness, or Slaying the Dreamer.

@@CypherReacts you should you haven't seen Troy live yet! He's the multi-instrumentalist of the band he joined the same time as Floor. He can also sing so My Walden live at Tampere and the Carpenter from the Decades tour please. Also Tuomas, the keyboardist, and Troy have a band together with Tuomas's wife. It's called Auri and is a bit different but I think you'll like it. Auri only has one album... Auri. So from Auri: Desert Flower (Troy sings on this one), I Hope Your World is kind and Night 13.
Wacken was an epic show from beginning to end. 82K+ people and Nightwish was the headlining act. You have just discovered The Queen of Symphonic Metal. Floor Jansen (Yahnsen) from The Netherlands and the most powerful female vocalist on the planet! Nightwish is about to release a new CD and start a world tour in April 2020. You two sound Scottish? If so they already have shows schedule for London Wembley arena and Cardiff in December. They will probably add some more UK shows in the next couple of months. They are also set to do the summer festival circuit in Europe this year. This was only about 10 months after Floor joined Nightwish. They probably have improved since then. Floor is a highly trained vocalist . She attended the Rock academy in The Netherlands when she was a teenager. Since then she has had operatic training and also some musical theater training. Her charisma and stage presence are off the charts and as you just heard she has amazing power and vocal range. There is so much more to see and hear from this brilliant band of musicians. From Metal to celtic folk and beautiful ballads they are not stuck in one style. They can play beautiful or aggressive heavy music. With the key emphasis on MUSIC. Check out "Romanticide" from this same show or maybe something more recent like "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" live from Buenos Aires 2018. Loved watching Adelina's expressions. I think she could pull of the windmill just like Floor! I just subbed.

Floor appeared in Beste Zangers 2019 not 2008. I won't argue with the rest. It's worth checking out. The whole season of the tv show was awesome. Basicly the concept: They gathered 7 singers from different genres. Each week 1 artist was in spotlight with the host and the rest of them sang songs that the artist performed (so covers of their own) or songs that have a special meaning to them. The final 8th episode ends with duets.

Decided to watch your Nightwish journey, it's always exicitig to see people making this major discovery in their lives. For me, this happened in 2007 when I accidentally stumbled across Amaranth video with Annette. The million of comments on that video took me to an "End of an Era" and I immediately became hooked on Nightwish and the old songs and the haunting stories of unrequited love and the magic created by Tuomas and the band, for ever. Bought all their albums, some beautiful deep meaningful music was created right up until Floor joined them in 2012. And a New Era started, Nightwish came alive once more! We now have a name: the Nightwish Army. We will be watching you experience this and hope you will grow to appreciate them and even like them (beyond "Well done Nightwish 👏👏👏) New sub here for you! Nightwish are good live. Period. The Wacken 2013 show was magical, though. Fifteen songs and they nailed every single one.
The bass player's name is Marko Hietala and he has a solo album just out; if you like his voice that's really worth the time as well. The opening single, "Stones," is on TH-cam.
...And Nightwish has a new album coming up. The first single, "Noise," is also available on TH-cam. If you're pining for a show, they're going on tour later this year.

The music is called symphonic metal and is very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded in 1996. So far the band has had 3 vocalists
1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005)
2 Anette Olzon (Swedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012)
3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of.

The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Them being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions. They have the long epic multipart full production type songs like Ghost Love Score, The Poet and the Pendulum or The Greatest Show on Earth.. Then they have several of the more classic thrash heavy metal style songs like Romanticide, Song of Myself or Dark Chest of Wonders.. They even have a very celtic rock sound going on in songs like E'lan or My Walden.. You chose, but the Nightwish Army loves it all..

The male singer is the bassist. The guitarist is the guy running around the stage (he can't stay put in one place) and throws his guitar picks for the audience, takes a beer break,
just in time to come in on his turn. In an older video the keyboardist poured wine from a bottle in the guitarist's his mouth while they were playing. Well, actually not the keyboardist, he had a small break. The keyboardist is their main composer.

Personally, I think that Nightwish is riding the very crest of their abilities right now. They are flying high and I am so excited for their next album and the upcoming tour. I’m going to be seeing them live in Hollywood come September, and it’s going to be my first time at one of their concerts, and I am so stoked I can’t even express how excited I am.
They are on tour in Europe and South America this year, so you may be able to find tickets in your area, but they may be sold out, they’ve been on sale for a couple months, I think.

If they are good today? They are awesome, more mature and able to basically do anything as one of the biggest metal bands in the world. Try doing this triplet: Slaying the dreamer - Live in Buenos aires 2018, 10th Man down - live in buenos aires 2018 and Dead Boys poem - Live in Buenos Aires 2018. Also you are still missing two masterpieces : The poet and the pendulum (live at wembley ) and The Greatest Show on Earth (live in Tampere). These two are best to make one reaction video for each. There is not a bad Nightwish song.

My fav 3 songs from the concert. Great. They released a live DVD in December thata was recorded in Buenos Aires in 2018 you can check out some songs from that to see what they sound like now. Can you checck out from Their Tampere and Wembley shows in 2015 Alpenglow and Shudder Before the Beautiful. Up-tempo, fun tracks. If you are ready for it you could also take on The Greatest Show On Earth from Tampere, but it is well over 15 minutes. Adelina is a lovely reactor too.
Every of their performance from Wacken 2013 was stunning and Ghost Love Score was the highlight. Here's my recommendation for another great live performance from different show:

And 6es Nightwish is best served as live. They have such a good spirit in band, also their fans are happy, audience is men and women about equal amount. And many generations represent there too. It cool to see that Finnish band enjoys so much fan base and so diverse. And everyone is happy in their concerts.

Wacken 2013 is the best start. Tampere and Wembley have the most recent sogs while Buones Aires 2018 has many old great songs. btw these are all shows with the latest singer, imo the best :)

After going through some turmoil with Tarja and Anette, Nightwish got totally blessed with Floor. She's just the total package that completes the band. She deserves so much credit because she literally had to learn their setlist in 2 days before coming in and helping them finish their US tour in 2012. Consider that these performances were in 2013, she was in the band just a year give or take a month and she OWNS these songs!

I would say maybe 2018 Buenos Aires Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Slaying the Dreamer and then for example High Hopes, Islander or While Your Lips Are Still Red to hear basist Marko’s voice better.

Bit distracting to witness "double carousel-eyes circling sideways", other than that, thumbs up. :) And yes, Nightwish is one helluva live act.
Yeah! We did notice that, we’ve been having problems with my microphone creating a really annoying buzz so I have a second screen setup that I use to monitor the audio levels while I film to make sure the buzzing comes back, because when it comes, it ruins my audio and video completely

This is just the start as for Nightwish.. As for the Wacken 2013, you should do "Romanticide" Song of Myself" Dark Chest of Wonders" Then "Ghost River" if you want to get into some heavier songs. Every single song they do at this performance is excellent but these are just a few you should do from Wacken 2013.. Then you can really blow your mind by moving on to Wembley Arena..
