    I have the four-string Harley Benton version of this bass, and it's very, very similar--right down to the roasted-maple neck and the Wilkinson bridge. It gives that very "thuddy" P-Bass sound that we all love so much. I'm tempted to upgrade to this 5-string Aria version.

      Crazy how similar, huh? I love the five string Aria. It rocks!

    Thanks for helping convince me to buy this bass. I tried the 4 string, which has a killer tone with clarity. The neck and fingerboard is a standout feature.

    Sold. It's got the bark. Really nice resonance and growl. Even with the tone down you can still hear the growl and roundness lurking in the background. Lively resonance.

    Good review. Being a Detroiter, I give 313 Mk2 2 thumbs up! My first serious bass was an Aria Pro II RSB Deluxe. My dream bass is Musicman 25th Anniversary Edition or Gamechanger.

    Two of my favorite bass players John Taylor and Cliff Burton have played Aria basses, so that definitely assures the quality of them. Awesum review by the way. Glad to see you putting out some great content. Hard to find a trusted dealer for these online. Any recommendations? Also. I noticed you upgraded your Helix. Didn't you used to use an HX Stomp? I'm guessing you upgraded so you could get more effects in your patch chain. Haven't seen any reviews on this Lt version though.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Sean. Thanks for the good feedback!! Yes, I love Aria’s basses and really like that they’re fairly affordable too. I think Reverb is probably the best place to get one of these. So, the HX Stomp I had was technically owned by a church that I was working at full-time. When I quit my job there in 2020, I had to give it back. So recently I bought the Helix LT to use for pretty much everything I do. Planning to do a video soon specifically reviewing it for use with bass.

    I love the P/J bass pickups configuration. It's the best of both worlds as Van Halen (or Hagar) once said. And in mi opinion the open pore finish improves the sound.

    Just received mine a week ago after I saw your video. Quality is ok and it sounds great with a particular character.
    Which string set would you suggest on this bass. I mostly play fi ger style in different style soul/funk/rnb/rock...and reggae. If any pickups upgrade which would you go to in order to get more low end (not boxy) but in respect of the natural sound of this bass?
    Keep doing the good work.
    Big Up from Paris, France

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For strings I recommend medium gauge DR Pure Blues. 5-string PJ pickups can be expensive, but really any upgrade is good. I’d be interested to here some Duncan QP’s in it.

    Hi Rumble man any 60 cycle noise. Or noise in general while touching ( not touching strings )?

  • @Mezziah777

    What does it weigh? The specs and the looks, ticks all the boxes for me, but if it's too heavy, I'm just not going to be able to gig with it. I like to run/jump around a lot on stage.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  ปีที่แล้ว

    The Wilkerson bridge used in the early days on carvin basses, was not trustworthy, it had a number of problems,but maybe they've improved.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I get it. My experience with the modern day Wilkinson hardware has been REALLY good!

    • @mlchaelphelps1158
      @mlchaelphelps1158 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's the reason why I said, they may have improved the Wilkerson bridge. Back during the carvin days, with my own personal experience, bass player magazine had a negative review on that same bridge but, this was back in the early 90's.
      Through Trial and error, you bound to improve since the early 90's, it's not my intention to affend.

    This looks almost exactly like the new Harley Benton basses, all the way down to the pickguard.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed this as well when the new HB basses came out. It’s important to note, however, that these Aria basses came out more than two years before the Harley Benton models, premiering at the 2020 NAMM Show.

      @@RumblinMan sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that Aria copied Harley Benton. I had just seen those and then your video appeared in my feed and I didn't really think about it.

    If they're your friends, please ask them to make an exact same thing, only fretless.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      They do have a fretless version, but it’s a four string and a jazz pickup configuration.
