Im not a sosa fan or cubs fan but I dont think he used roids. Theres no evidence, there was a "leaked" steroid test with sosas name on it positive by the same company david ortiz rumored to test postive for. But hey He was a good ballplayer.
The circumstances surrounding the corking incident are never discussed. I was obsessed and watching every Cubs game on WGN at that point so I know what happened. He had been hit in the head by a Pirates pitcher weeks before the corking incident. After that he struggled and was very timid and afraid in the batters box. I genuinely believe he used the corked bat to try to regain his confidence. I don’t believe he ever used a corked bat before or after that. It was a very tough stretch for him. He deserves to be in the HOF he and McGwire literally saved baseball.
slammin sammy was a beast...i love how early no fans...later packed house lol & i love how his swag grew , bouncing after home runs...he didnt bounce so much when he was young...GOAT
That rightfielder underestamating Sosa's legs...lol..Gotta love Sosa, ran like a beast..Even when he was a little bulkier, still had great speed...A true athlete
@@EssexAggiegrad2011 no it wasnt dude. Why do you think none of those guys like Clemens McGuire palmerro arod sosa never got suspended then???? Because it wasn't illegal then in the mlb
@@ClaraInstalledAimbot yeah I fine with that. Studies have shown it actually harder to hit homers with a corked bat. Also he broke hundreds of bats over his career only one was corked. No pattern
Sammy with the flag after 9/11 was a great moment for sports.
An MLB legend. I’m still a Sosa fan. He was very exciting to watch. #Legend ⚾️🐐
He and McGuire saved baseball. Sure they cheated, but it was so entertaining
He was a corker and a roider but goddamnit I still love this man. He and Jordan made my childhood so damned special.

Sammy Sosa was the reason I was a Cubs fan as a kid all I want to be was Sammy Sosa
My uncle played for the cubs in the 2000s. I met Sammy & shook his hand & saw his wife & kids I was like 10 maybe.
Thanks for the memories Sammy. This was my childhood.

EL MEJOR EL MAS EMOCIONANTE ..
It's amazing how thin he was as a rookie. Gee, I wonder how he gained all that weight and muscle?
hard work and a complete breakfast😂
great tape. would love to hear the announcers. music not needed

This man, Bonds, Palmeiro Clemens and McGuire all should be in
Cheater, cheater, cheater and cheater
@@EssexAggiegrad2011 but it wasn't cheating when they did it

Why this song tho ? Killed the whole highlight tape
Y también los cubs
What is this song called?
"Requiem for a Dream"
He played for the white sox first?? Holy shit
A mi entender,se hizo injusticia con Samuel Sosa, y creo la MLB,son ingratos
totalmente de acuerdo
Really, really annoying background noise….otherwise thanks for the video
"Number 500 Sammy earns his ticket into Cooperstown." - Fact
Another example the Hall has absolutely zero credibility (rhetorical).
@Bread And Circuses that was a quote from the announcer.
wait, this man isnt in the hall of fame??
No, unfortunately.
Started the juice with the White Sox?
Sosa mcgwire clemons palmeiro belong in the hall. Pete rose too while im at it
Hate the music
Lol, ok...
Opposite. Loved it. Perfect choice.
Don't listen to them...great choice for a song!
Cheater
Too bad he was a cheater
He wasn't. It wasn't cheating in MlB when he allegedly was on roids
@@bobsmith1723 he did have a corked bat too though
