Do you have that awful street light messing with your Halloween lighting effect? We have the solution to shut it off!
You need at least a laser light that produces:
1) Laser Power: 50mW@532nm, 150mW@650nm and MUST BE RED otherwise you’ll need more power in another color.
2) it is illegal to aim a laser light into air space that a plane travels. My street light has a cover (shield) on the back side so my laser light will never interfere with planes (most street lights have a shield as the sensor is position on the same side as where the sun goes down. Also, Can’t be shined on people (path) or in a vehicle... or house!
3) you have to hit the sensor just right in order for it to work. During the day I guesstimate where I think I see where the sensor is and point my laser there. Then durning the night I’ll cut my laser on and if not in the spot I’ll put on sun glasses to help drown out the light to see the point of sensor.
4) Let your neighbors know so they will not turn you in. Get their approval...hehehehe
My light is directly across the street from my house, the sun goes down behind my house therefore I am able to place the laser on a 6’6” column I use during Halloween. The laser is on top of the the column never once hitting a person/car or passing through street light.

Does need to be modified. I did have to modify the stand so I could have it angel up. Used another laser light stand that swiveled and connected to this models stand.
It is not water proof so you’ll need a box to put it in.
Disclaimer: There are Federal and State laws (Federal and my state laws is listed above) some States are more restrictive.‼️ Check with your state laws on the use of laser lights. ALSO, verify all laws each year as they may change from the date of my post.

Thank you for this. Fingers crossed that the atrocious street light in my yard has a light sensor directly on it vs being centrally located somewhere else.
Note: the strength of your laser depends on the distance you when pointing it at the sensor. The further you go back from the strong the laser needs to be. If it does not work move it closer until it does.
@@vvichcraft Copy that. I'm just going to go ahead and purchase the brightest one I can find and set it up in a permanent spot on a stand pointing out of my attic window. Should be easy to automate it to turn on automatically when the sun goes down.

Thank you thats awesome! However im a bit confused. You said it has to be a red laser otherwise it has to be alot more powerful but in the description right before that u mentioned 50mw @ 532nm which is green and 1/3 less powerful than the red laser u mentioned at 650nm.

@@MzClementine yes a plug. I ran an outdoor plug underground to the area I use the laser at.

Does the laser stay on all night? Or do you have it where it shuts off and on again periodically?
Either way can be done, but for our purpose we only turned off during Halloween (last two weeks). We have it set to come on at sundown and weekdays shut off at 9pm and weekends 11pm. We do a Halloween projection on our house that the light interferes with.
How long does it stay off? Do you have to keep doing it over and over?
Stays off as long as the laser is on
So I need my street lamps off because the light is making it impossible to sleep. Plus apparently the wavelength is frying us. I can’t set it up to keep a laser on it all night long.
