Can't we make an AI which detects any logical fallacy in a given input data (subtitles or audio transcript) ? I know it will not be 100% accurate or precise. But still a good way to tackle mis/dis information.
Sadhguru makes these kind of content. It is because these kind of content is what worked out for him. To be a salesman is tough. You have to make them purchase your product whatever it is. Its his traits that helped him get there. He had a soothing sound and he was proficient in English.Hen business was not successful. There is a saying by Charlie munger, if you get an opportunity, don't ever let go of it, grab it with your life. People believe him because people wants to hear his bulshit. They want to be misled. There will be the misleading people and those who are misled, there will also people who show that you have been misled. The misleading people and those who show they have been misled are in sympiotic relationships. It is a win-win situation. But the consumers of the videos are fu*cked. They are using valuable time. It is like a pump and dump scheme. People who get dumped call it a scam and go to people influencers that tell them that the person who dumped them was a scammer. Same goes for sadguru. Interesting how you’re arguing semantics to insist that the person is evil and manipulative. Words and language, are a constantly evolving concept and its usage actually shapes its meaning. And this implies that there is a broader meaning to a word than any fixed definition can encapsulate. Your categorisation of different remarks, into some fallacy or the other, also attempts to leverage the “authority” of science to sway people into “believing” that actually your interpretation is correct. In a way, the very tool you’re using to discredit everything these gurus etc say, can also be used to discredit everything you say. The only difference is, the rational people will be the first to echo support for you, because they have also been brainwashed to believe in the absolute authority of science and rationality.
Bro I have a question regd all these fallacies. You are ultimately saying, if there is no evidence to a statement, we don't make a conclusion from it. But do you think, humans are capable enough or maybe not interested enough or even thought to do a research/study on each topic? We need to also consider whether the lack of evidence is due to 1. not even doing a study 2. not doing enough study 3. no evidence even after enough study and we are sure that no evidence can be found in future on doing even deeper studies Only in case of 3rd scenario, we can conclude that because there is no evidence, the statement is false, in all other case, it's always can't be said. Also, how much can we trust the current technology because any numbers we get to produce a statistical evidence using any scientific tool may have some errors or may not include all other factors which might be required to be considered but we don't know that based on the given statement due to missing details.
this is so subjective. As fallacies are objectively subjective means you can justify anything by your anology if you name your fallacy somewhat correctly. This can be a valid criticism but we need more context here. in third point, how can you be so sure without any leading evidence that you will find some in the future even after studying it thoroughly? It needs an appeal to something, whether bias towards it or because the authority is forcing you to, for instance, look at the making of department of ayush, CCRAS, ethics commitee for ayurveda, etc. They all have received funds to do research and institutes like e Central Institute for Research in Indigenous System of Medicine (CIRISM), the first Ayurveda research institute of India since 1952 and yet the most research they have done till now lacks matter and evidence. They still get funds even today in 2023 why?
I dont agree with this way of learning from textbooks about logic and fallacies, firstly if truth (which it self can be a complicated concept) could be discovered by reading books, then everyone would have the same opinions, but its not because written logic are not enough, there are more variables like the nature of contents and contents itself, the nature of nouns, creation of indvidualistic concepts and subjective opinons, and priorities. The best way of being a reletively intelligent person who has its own way of thinking and making their opinions is, first be born as at least decently intelligent person, then be incredibley honest and open minded, understand the limilations of language, nouns and categories, learn to observe first hand deeply and complexly and develope ur own way of thinking and create ur own labels, defination and categories. The only thing the written way of how to think does is: close the doors of mind for develop individualistic way of thinking, it also make same minded closed groups who have arrogance. Logical fallacy is a tool which we can use to have honest, clear conversation, not about finding the absolute truth. Your comment itself is a series of premises that develops logically so that you can present your argument (A because B then C) You used logic yourself to rationalise your position.

As an ex Pranav hater, I have a little advice for Pranav: The amout of hate comments will drastically reduce if he be a bit respectful towards people's religious sentiments. Just like in Acharya Prashant's videos, he is against all superstitions but at the same time he also tells that this superstition is not spirituality. Real spirituality is something else. This way people perceive that this superstition is like a weed in spirituality that needs to be removed. But the way Pranav speaks sometimes implies like the religion is wrong in some aspects. Which hurts people's feelings. And instead of agreeing, they get even more defensive and believe even more in the superstitions. According to me, 80% of Sadhguru is extremely wise and rest 20% of him is filled with bullshit facts that he read somewhere and didn't confirm (due to his bias) if the source is right or not.

Hey I'm a big fan of yours. I want you to make an informative video on cancer in poultry and animals that give us red meat and its health consequences on the consumer. Another favourite youtuber of mine called Peepal Farm who's known for his altruistic journalism and concern for animals made a claim that we are risking Getting cancer by eating non vegetarian food which might have cancer or tumours. A Google search didn't give me solid data. Also I don't have the reach to raise awareness among people.Maybe you can talk to some expert for clarification as you generally do on your channel. I'm concerned because poultry is a cheap source of protein for many but there are many stigmas associated with Cancer and flus , while it's said that if properly cooked, it's safe to consume. Also give insights on redundant use of antibiotics in poultry and livestock industries, and its impact on humans and animals. I'll drop the link of the TH-cam video by peepal farm in this thread.

Can't we make an AI which detects any logical fallacy in a given input data (subtitles or audio transcript) ? I know it will not be 100% accurate or precise. But still a good way to tackle mis/dis information.
Sadhguru makes these kind of content. It is because these kind of content is what worked out for him. To be a salesman is tough. You have to make them purchase your product whatever it is. Bro I have a question regd all these fallacies. You are ultimately saying, if there is no evidence to a statement, we don't make a conclusion from it.
But do you think, humans are capable enough or maybe not interested enough or even thought to do a research/study on each topic?
We need to also consider whether the lack of evidence is due to
1. not even doing a study
2. not doing enough study
3. no evidence even after enough study and we are sure that no evidence can be found in future on doing even deeper studies
Only in case of 3rd scenario, we can conclude that because there is no evidence, the statement is false, in all other case, it's always can't be said.
Also, how much can we trust the current technology because any numbers we get to produce a statistical evidence using any scientific tool may have some errors or may not include all other factors which might be required to be considered but we don't know that based on the given statement due to missing details.

in third point, how can you be so sure without any leading evidence that you will find some in the future even after studying it thoroughly? It needs an appeal to something, whether bias towards it or because the authority is forcing you to, for instance, look at the making of department of ayush, CCRAS, ethics commitee for ayurveda, etc. They all have received funds to do research and institutes like e Central Institute for Research in Indigenous System of Medicine (CIRISM), the first Ayurveda research institute of India since 1952 and yet the most research they have done till now lacks matter and evidence. They still get funds even today in 2023 why?

I dont agree with this way of learning from textbooks about logic and fallacies, firstly if truth (which it self can be a complicated concept) could be discovered by reading books, then everyone would have the same opinions, but its not because written logic are not enough, there are more variables like the nature of contents and contents itself, the nature of nouns, creation of indvidualistic concepts and subjective opinons, and priorities.
The best way of being a reletively intelligent person who has its own way of thinking and making their opinions is, first be born as at least decently intelligent person, then be incredibley honest and open minded, understand the limilations of language, nouns and categories, learn to observe first hand deeply and complexly and develope ur own way of thinking and create ur own labels, defination and categories.
The only thing the written way of how to think does is: close the doors of mind for develop individualistic way of thinking, it also make same minded closed groups who have arrogance.
Remember, we all are subject of Ultimate Reality, we didnt created our self, the outside world, our consiousness, and ability of understand

As an ex Pranav hater, I have a little advice for Pranav: The amout of hate comments will drastically reduce if he be a bit respectful towards people's religious sentiments. Just like in Acharya Prashant's videos, he is against all superstitions but at the same time he also tells that this superstition is not spirituality. Real spirituality is something else. This way people perceive that this superstition is like a weed in spirituality that needs to be removed. But the way Pranav speaks sometimes implies like the religion is wrong in some aspects. Which hurts people's feelings. And instead of agreeing, they get even more defensive and believe even more in the superstitions.
According to me, 80% of Sadhguru is extremely wise and rest 20% of him is filled with bullshit facts that he read somewhere and didn't confirm (due to his bias) if the source is right or not.

Hey I'm a big fan of yours. I want you to make an informative video on cancer in poultry and animals that give us red meat and its health consequences on the consumer. Another favourite youtuber of mine called Peepal Farm who's known for his altruistic journalism and concern for animals made a claim that we are risking Getting cancer by eating non vegetarian food which might have cancer or tumours. A Google search didn't give me solid data. Also I don't have the reach to raise awareness among people.Maybe you can talk to some expert for clarification as you generally do on your channel. I'm concerned because poultry is a cheap source of protein for many but there are many stigmas associated with Cancer and flus , while it's said that if properly cooked, it's safe to consume.
