You can just insert Safety pins and it won’t come off. No need for stitching.

This is by far the best and simplest zipper fix I have found! I have a hoodie that the slide had come off of. Nothing broken or damaged. Following these instructions I was able to get the slide fixed and I’m back wearing my favorite hoodie! Thanks!!
