I'm gonna believe that The Autobot logo is more like a patch. Bee was clearly made without one as he was around before the civil war. Maybe it's more like a patch as he'd take it off once the war had ended.
This also can explain why Blitzwing in the 2018 bumblebee movie says "B-127, as a member of the autobot resistance, you are a traitor to cybertron and hereby sentenced to death.". He only says autobot *resistance* so he is just part of the protection. And for "traitor to cybertron" that might mean that he was once maybe a decepticon so he traited the decepticons and was destined to be a part of the autobots. So there may be a decepticon logo under the autobot logo. (By the way I am not stupid I know that when Scourge removes his autobot logo we just see metal but maybe the decepticon logo was between the autobot logo and the paint) That's just my theory.

Everybody saying it can’t be detached… I haven’t seen the movie yet and I know it can be detached. If Scorge can wear it as an additional piece, an Optimus can remove it , than it’s a part. Not just metal but a part of the whole, as a protocon originally he did not have a logo. Very well could have been granted the seal as he moved up in ranks

The Wheeljack design we see in the BB movie was his Cybertronian mode, when he arrived to Earth, he scanned a VW Bus and got a robot mode redesign which was the one we saw in ROTB
