Both German-Americans so not surprised by some of their similarities! Every Christmas I play his Christmas album and love his beautiful song Aspen Glow! He was the epitome of Americana, so was she! All-in-all and in so many ways, 1975 was a REALLY wonderful year for me -- especially that day in July when I borrowed 2 dimes from a student in the same summer class I was in at college so I could get a fresh orange from the vending machine, and we ended up becoming friends and still are to this very day!!!

I bought his first RCA album, and almost all that follows. Doris made more movies that I like than anyone else. Back when songs had a simple, but pretty melody. Back when comedies were funny and classy. Two of them together. That's nice.

As old as I am I never heard her sing with jazz bands. She is considered one of the great jazz singers.
