After a failed attempt at getting a job with the e-scooter company Lime back in New Zealand, I have a second chance at working for a micro-mobility company in Brisbane with TWO e-scooter companies currently operating in the city: Beam and Neuron.

Thanks for this video 😀👍 Beam are offering ex-rental scooters for sale. Given your experiences with these scooters what are your thoughts? Would you buy an ex-rental or use one if they gave you one for personal use?

Absolutely, not just saying that as a former employer. The scooters are actually Ninebot Segways which are very robust and reliable. Seeing the punishment the public puts them through, they've gotta be tough AF.

@@MarkRobles Thanks for the reply. I bought one and I know a lot more about them than I did two weeks ago! The SNSC 2.3 model is built like a tank so it should be a great way to zip around. Weird that the brakes are reversed though. Front on the left hand and rear on the right. I’ll have to see if I can swap the cables over. Cheers!

Hey Mark! How did you find the job and what required experience did you need for it?

I applied directly on the Beam website in their careers section.
No specific experience is required, just a driver's license with a clean record. During the trial shift just show that you can operate the van and work independently and efficiently on a run. Good luck! ✊🏾

Two things. Why are you wearing a N.Y. Ball cap? Not enough Canadian teams? Are you forsaking your Canadian roots? Secondly. Don't imagine your folks are too thrilled with your ideal job. Hope they send you a bill for what it cost to educate you. This the only negative reply I've sent you. Just had to get it off my chest.

Haha there actually aren't enough Canadian teams to represent when you're on a backpacker budget. Someone left that tired Yankee cap in our hostel room. I wear it when running or when I'm on the job.
Second I actually made more money doing this job than my office job back home due to the higher pay scale in Australia compared to Canada. Weekend premiums in Australia make a big difference as well, my pay being nearly doubled on Sundays. My parents have been extremely supportive of this job and understand the importance of doing what you love over what will make you rich. They couldn't care less about the degree that I paid for.
