    I absolutely love the M&P HP in my 308 using reloader 19. I’m casting them around 16-18 bhn and driving them around the 2100 fps and getting 1.5-2.0” at 100

    Dam good shooting DR. I told you I was getting really good accuracy. With those castings I’m glad to see you did as well now I know for a fact it wasn’t a fluke. You should see what they do to a milk jug and if your able to capture one is crazy the expansion. Good projectiles made with everything at home. Thanks for giving me a shout out brother hopefully this video will show people what cast is truly capable of.

      Thanks again! These are a ton of fun to shoot and you weren't lying about the accuracy. Still have a few others to test from what you sent. I don't think my range would allow the water jug, but we'll see. Take it easy!

      Thanks! With those 3 powders you should be able to reload for anything we can get our hands on. Might not be cycling your AR15, but if you need ammo, you can make some ammo. Thanks! 👍🇺🇸

    Excellent reloading practice and narrative. The results are evidence that you can prepare and shoot great cast bullet loads. I had similar results using the Lyman 311284 and SR4759 powder in an old Remington 721 300 H&H magnum. Thanks!

    30 cal seem to get really good results with cast bullets . My Mosin likes the Lee 155 with Unique , Red Dot , Green Dot and Blue Dot powders . All grouped well under an inch at 50 .

    • @DummyRound
      @DummyRound  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've only used Unique out of those, but it's too rare to use up right now. I'd like to try the different Dots out, but they're as hard to get as Unique around here.

      Man I want to try Unique now. I was able to get half inch groups with the h4895 and the Ideal 311413 mold. That’s mold deserves more attention with powder coating being the new way to coat cast.

      I think the cases had some lube left in the neck, but I'll have to give the mica a try some time. I don't have much of any experience with 300blk subs, as I don't have a can, but I had a few videos using the Lee 230gr with no luck. Thanks!

      Sounds like a nice boolit, what mold is that and how do you add the silicone to the HP cavity? General use caulking, maybe? You don't have to tumble after brass prep to clean the lube. Just plan ahead and dump them into a tub with a couple of drops of Dawn or similar and fill with water to top of brass. Mash around a few times, rinse and put on a towel to dry. Load the next day. Or, put in an oven for a couple of hours at 110.
    How far down does that gas check go into the neck?
    Generally, a heavier bullet will shoot higher.

    • @jamespollard1670
      @jamespollard1670 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or you can place the brass on a plate and roll them with a splash of rubbing alcohol . They dry in a minute or two and can be loaded right away .

    Hi, hope you guys are well. Im new in casting bullets but need to get more info on lead hardness. I have purchased a block of lead which I don't know the harness off. What can happen if I cast bullets with too soft lead on .308 . I want to quench with cast and powdercoat afterwards. Does this increase the strength enough of the bullet? Will a soft lead powder coated bullet be safe too shoot in 308?
    Thank you

    • @DummyRound
      @DummyRound  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Quenching only hardens the lead if it has antimony in it, so you'll need an alloy with that. If you're just doing a bolt gun, you'll have no issues running up to 2k fps and finding some accuracy in there, but don't expect to run a semi or any faster than that without a much more refined boolit and load👍🇺🇲
