I've been digging a lot through item prices in the early history of RSC, and one item that changed a lot in value there was: Addy kite. Dropped from 900k to 30k in a couple months. And this was in 2001. The equivalent today would be approximately like a 2.5b item dropping to 80m in 2-3 months.
gloves are much much rarer, plus even on an iron you can do like 5-6 meds an hour, or just get them organically as you level up slayer. Have fun farming 1k+ elites.

Surprised you didn't mention the crystal seed, which used to sit around 3-5k each prior to Priff being added. It peaked at over 400k in 2022 and is still sitting at around 160k currently
RS3's archer ring used to be around 30k since 2014 due to Jagex accidentally handing a player MILLIONS of them during an item restoration process, last year they created new BiS rings that require 10 of Dagannoth King rings to be made and now Archer Rings have been hovering around 18-20m for a good while. Likewise, Seers' Ring was sub-100k prior to it and now sits at the same price range as Archers. There were also Cinderbane Gloves that on release had a very high drop rate and were worth just a meager million. Drop rate was nerfed and the gloves peaked at 143m. Heh, this makes me hope that one day OSRS will start making use of old items so that they won't become absolutely worthless like Treasure Trails is full of these days. Just some actual use for them.
dont forget about rs3s treasure trail items ;) a lot of them was just like osrs clue items then invention apeard. dragon hatchet was also a item that increased a lot in price from that some time later and several other items atleast for a period increased a LOT but clue items was 100% the biggest increase. like comp bows. they give fortunate componets. each fort is aroun 1.5m in value +/- 100k and was probably like 1k if that before invention. thats a 1500x increase over the years.
years back we bought 300m red spider eggs together with 6 others before the bot nuke, for less than 80 gp ea, sold them 2 days after the bot nuke for 1200-1400 ea

Pures and Mains in the PK community had hundreds or thousands of these in their banks at a time for return sets. That update made them 1000000x the cost and a lot of people cashed out big.
It happened in mainscape and you're overshooting the increase just a bit. :D The boots went up to 75k and there definitely was an uproar about how this benefited people who had happened to own a lot of them.
yes, he missed this. This was the biggest from like 2gp to 75,000. One guy showed a screenshot of hoarding them, he had 211k boots which automatically became rock climbing boots, so do the math 75,000 x over 200,000. You can say that guy became a happy man.
Man... Right before the Zulandra teleport update I sank ALL my gp into best in slot, supplies and TONS on zulandra teleports in hopes to grind out pet and max cash. Got 1.6B selling the teleports sold all the supplies and gear and had max cash after 3 days haha
Big love for my Eldritch and Harmonised Orb, big big upgrades for a 1 def pure and seeing the price increase 10 fold on the Eldritch was mind blowing, I knew people didn't seem to understand how great it was with Lightbearer.
There's 2 reasons the ely went to 1.1/1.2 that you didn't cover. Ely first went nuclear when soul wars came out bc it was bis at the pvp minigame, i had it at that time and i went 1,150+ Also people were buying it in preparation for nex, thats the 2nd reason it went over 1b.
I managed to flip a bunch of bgs's when they buffed it and used to profit to buy a dhcb for the fashionscape that they ended up buffing shortly after. Literally made my entire account.

I think it would be an interesting concept if a feature would be added so that we can Invest money into a certain item. For the 3rd age pickaxe, for example, just adding a certain amount for it, and keeping it there. It would help you progress slowly towards a high priced item.
The Elysian increased to 1.2b dec 2021 because people thought it would be good at nex which released in January. Same thing happened with the spectral. I made over 400m just on spectrals alone 😂

I mean this is pretty old but back in RS3, I believe it was pre-eoc, when they first made climbing boots tradeable on the GE and the price went from 12gp each to 10k. Most pures already had a climbing boot collection since it was the only option for pking and pvming on a pure. In a day your 1k stack of climbing boots went from no value/12K to 10m. And there were people who were into collecting climbing boots since they weren't easy to obtain and their 10k+ stacks turned into 100m+, all overnight. It was crazy. I was so mad I only had 20 pairs lol

One thing that’s odd is, when you were talking about the bandos godsword, you said it peaked at almost 25m, when it actually peaked at 21.2m. That’s a bit far from 25m
I'd say because clues are entirely unreliable for their rewards, getting clues themselves is a pain, and because clues are traditionally more cosmetic focused with just few exceptions like Robin Hood and yes, Rangers.

Largest percentage price increase was climbing boots in 2010 when they went from 12gp to 75,000gp overnight which is a 624,900% increase.

Ranger gloves are 1/1275 from a elite clues. Hardly the same level as rangers that are 1/293 from a medium

The fact that OSRS is now nearly as old as RuneScape was when OSRS was released is insane to think about.
