I know very little about Trace Adkins and haven't listened to his music, but what a totally cool dude. A tremendously down to earth and kind person.
i know nothing about him, and i havent listened to country music since the year ~2000... but i just became a fan. what a cool dude
Same. Trace talking about working on an oil rig was fascinating. I just love the varied guests Bill has on his show and how much enjoyment he gets from talking to them.
Same here!
Listen to his music, you’ll love it!
That's my husband
Graduated with Tracy 1 thru 12. He hasn't changed. His dad was a nice guy. Remember all this..😊
Except his name apparently
No doubt autocorrect victim.
Trace Adkins, as American as they come...love the honesty , ,hard working, and insight into his world...... thanks..
@@hillorisartin6129
His given name:
Tracy Darrell Adkins[1] (born January 13, 1962)[2] is an American country music singer and actor.
@@emiliodaddio8517 .this is something I don't now????
I love Trace Adkins' deep soothing voice, but I really appreciate what he has to say about the value of working hard and having a strong work ethic. I also admire that he didn't get sucked into a long, drawn-out conversation about the Civil War and confederacy which could have set him up for some unnecessary criticism by some people. His live and let live attitude should be something to be emulated in our divisive social and political climates.
We met Trace in a restaurant a few years back. He's the real deal. There is no mistaking that deep soothing voice! We could hear him all the way across the restaurant. Love his music!
Grandma who's smoked for 60 years, would have the same deep, soothing voice.
My husband is the real deal❤❤
You don't know the real deal you need to go back to bed and stop dreaming and you have a lot of nerve going by his last name but it is funny he's never talks about you
I feel like there should be a section of high school dedicated to life. Learning plumbing, electricity, building, design, your finances (budgeting, taxes, economy), understanding the use of electronics on the human brain, things that can help someone with stepping into a home, running their life and family some day.
Especially finance.
Old guy here. Shop class was a thing, as well as home economics for women…but the one thing that never was is managing money…and I’m so sad that it took me years to realize that it was all by design.
@@SavoirRare I was in middle and high school throughout the '90s. We also had shop class and home economics (for both boys and girls), and some of our math classes actually covered personal finance. We also had electives for engineering, architecture and a whole bunch of other stuff.
I wrote an essay about this for my CBEST- an exam you take before applying for your Master’s degree (which I never bothered to get!).
I also included: how to pick and be a good rommate - but my list included everything your did (except the plumbing, electrical work and building).
But you know- I realize know that public school is designed to make us follow rules, obey, nit question authority…how to be sheeple, basically!
So glad my daughter lucked out and got a free (albeit elitist) private education from grade 4-12. It’s an excellent school- too bad it’s full of entitled rich kids!
We relocated to Taiwan- so the company my husband works. for paid for her schooling.
She knows how lucky she is!
@@matthewsmith3817wow- great school! I had home economics in middle school, but the Catholic hs I went to didn’t offer shop or home economics! Too bad.
"Every Light In the House is On" got me through something as a kid. Thanks Trace.
Me too!!! I told this story to my wife who thought me running up to a Kmart to push on the video clip screen for that song.
I can't tell you how many times I rewatched this part dying laughing. Trace saying, "These chairs make me feel like I'm squatting to shit in the woods". Bill, "Well, I wanted to make you feel at home." LMFAO!! 8:54
Hilarious
Or "We'll keep you alive when the world comes to an end" Basically saying Bill couldn't handle the survival mode. LOL
That's my husband's sense of humor Bill's chairs made all 6ft 6 inches of him feel like he was squatting to take a shit in the woods lol😂😂
I’m sitting in leather chats while waiting for my car to be fixed. Trace Adkins great singer and great American!!!
Thanks Bill this was hilarious! My favorite line was when Trace said he shoveled snow for 4 days so he could get out to get cigarettes lol!
It seems that when Bill has a very laid-back guest who doesn't speak in a rush, and Trace fits that description to a t,Bill's interrupting is down to a minimum. This made for a really pleasant, worthwhile conversation. 😊
yes bill's interruptions and arrogance are getting on my nerves these days. he's aging himself.
Being a European and not the biggest fan of country music, I never heard of this bloke before but he’s got awesome down to earth vibes. Really enjoyed this one. Cheers
You should check out his songs Arlington and Til The Last Shot's Fired. They're about soldiers and will rip your heart to pieces.
A highlight for me was Trace explaining what offshore drilling was like, since I've been asked that question many times. Most people want to know what the food is like (fwiw, the food varies greatly from rig to rig, depending on the cooks and the food budget).
This is one time the algorithm did good and tossed a Trace video my way soon as I log in. Man, what a treat this chit chat was with hivel swips and Trace lol. We're exactly the same age, parents same age, high school same, fav high school songs same, but I didn't really catch the Trace wave until the lock down, though he got my attention during apprentice. Now I've seen him twice live in last 3 years, once in the boonies and once this past summer in the rain near home. Rain never felt so good!! I was front center stage holding the raincoat over my head and damned if caught Trace looking me right the eye while singing and I chickened out and look away all shy and stuff ha ha. I did push the girl aside who tried to steal my place with her birdies hanging out because gosh dang it, I earned that spot haha. His shows and his band are so good, so seasoned and so relaxed. You can tell he's not in a hurry that gives him longevity.
What he said about his voice is the first thing I noticed - the awesome matured tone in his voice and some of the vocal skills he pulls. You'll hear "damnnnnn" from the men when he tests the mic with those low notes. I hope he keeps having fun as long as he can. If you haven't seen him live, the only way I describe the aura at his shows is 'the heart of America' - truly patriotic, down to earth and just about real, every day life. So many relate to that, that you'll find yourself high on America when you leave the show. Hence the name of the last tour. Keep up the interesting and relatable format, Bill, really enjoyed this!
p.s. Trace, I got see Elvis in May of 77!! With my parents, no doubt, but it was fun to sleep in the car with mom in the parking lot to get the tickets, and then come back to do the same an hour later after the cop sent us home (and lie a little bit to dad) LOL!
Thank you for coming to Mayfield after the tornado Trace. It meant a lot, and probably more than you will ever know
It was our pleasure
Bill started making the “stuck on an oil rig with 50 guys drilling for 14 days” joke and that look on Trace’s face. If looks could kill.
My husband worked on an oil rig many years ago. Bill has no idea what that's all about
I enjoyed hearing Trace talking about his work on an oil rig.
First time I've seen Trace without his hat on. Love his pithy humour. Made for one of the best episodes.
Looks totally different.
The DiStefano Ad was hilarious 😂 i always skip ads, but i listened through on this one haha
Trace - love the music, love the talent, and appreciate the man you are. Thank you for the work you due for our Vets. As one, it is greatly appreciated. Bill - thank you for reaching out and getting this one done. Very cool on this long holiday weekend.
Trace has a great voice for talk radio if he ever tires of music.
Funny as hell. Trace is so good handling bills attempts to start shit. Like a puppy trying to bitch slap a grizzly.
Totally
Yup that's my hubby alright
He's got a great voice, like Sam Elliot in 'The Big Lebowski' - 😵💫
I like your style, “Dude”.
Roadhouse.
Wow......Trace was the first big musician I ever worked for in Grapevine, TX around 2005 something. I've got the date pics and all but.......Trace was super nice. I was the first person he shakes hands with right after he played, Thanking me and Carlos for the great work. After that, the company that paid to see him where all waiting in line LOL.......Awesome memories.
Cool! What work did/do you do with musicians?

I wish I could meet him
That's my husband a true southern gentleman
I've been going through Real Time withdrawal. I'm glad it's back next Friday!
The chair joke, oh Bill.🤣🤣 And being a parent myself…I have to say, the challenges/disappointments are many, the joys are few. May all be worth it, but Bills not to far off 😅
Once again this “Show” introduces me to someone I had little knowledge of and this time I go away better for it. Great stuff.
"These chairs make me feel like I'm squatting to shit in the woods."
"I wanted to make you feel at home."
Lmao
That was a damn clever line! Trace liked it too.
Very quick
Just my husband's sense of humor being 6 ft 6 inches tall lol
Such a big Trace Adkins fan. Have been ever since I first heard him when he hit the music scene and his voice made my spine melt.
Yo Bill. Elvis still holds the Guiness Book of Records record for most records (singles & albums) ever sold by a solo artist and just about everyone in the world knows the name Elvis. even if they have never heard his music they know *Who* he is.
If I hadn't have been here, I wouldn't have come...Best line ever spoken!
1 hour, 12 min & 32 seconds, of which Trace was allowed to speak maaaaaaybe 22 minutes TOTAL.
Why do I continue to piss myself off while watching Bill talk to himself for over an hour .... time and time again??!!?!?!
I really wish someone would give that man a shock collar.
I ask myself the same question every time I watch an episode and yet I keep coming back! WTH?! Bill’s therapy sessions are oddly enticing.
Trace has so many good stories to tell. I love his soulful songs and his deep voice, a big fan from Germany
Trace Adkins could read aloud the telephone book (if we still had them), and I'd be mesmerized. But he's honestly interesting and comes off as a genuinely good person. Loved this interview!
Such an interesting conversation! I'm so grateful Trace discovered his country music vein and gave us so many great ditties!
A lot of younger people share that opinion of Elvis, Bill. It was "Edge of Reality" that got me to really appreciate and further explore Elvis' works.
Elvis and Michael Jackson were mega stars and both had mystique - stars like that can’t exist anymore either social media
I was born after Elvis died. But I grew up thinking Elvis was disgusting and hated his music, because my mother had told me how gross he was and then he was a fat drug addict who died on the toilet, trying to take a shit I just saw the movie. They didn’t even portray him to be that fat. I think he was fatter in real life than in the movie.
@@HH-gv8mxElvis weighed about 250 lbs at 6' tall when he died of a heart attack. (Some sources will say 350 lbs but you can look at him and tell he didn't weigh 350 lbs. A lot of the weight was bloat from various health problems. Don't get me wrong his diet was atrocious and the rx drugs didn't help his health either but he also had congestive heart failure and a large bowel obstruction most of the time. That's what caused his heart attack..straining too hard to go to the bathroom. A doctor and a coroner both said that the pressure made his heart fail abd he keeled over.
“You just triggered the perpetually persecuted.” That was the best line.
HER FAVORITE COLOR IS CHROOOOMEEE...
EVERY LIGHT IN THA HOUSE IS AWNNNN...
God I love trace.
Ladies love country boysssss... wow i havent heard any of those songs in forever but im not even 10 seconds in and they all came back to me.
haha i cant wait to hear this! You have amazing guests.
I love how Bill's greatest examples of country music are "Brooks & Dunn and Kid Rock."😅😅😅
Probably because he knows them and is sociable bill probably still does lines with kid rock
Because most country music is CRINGE.😮
And he didn’t even know who Ronnie Dunn is 😂
I love how Kid Rock is considered country music….nope
“If I wouldn’t have been here I wouldn’t have come” 🤣🤣🤣
Bill.....wonderful episode! So glad to see two old guys remembering what it's like to work hard!!!
Old guys? My husband is only 63
Bill is so genuine when reading the commercials. I think it's the most fun thing he does.
If they ever do another Winnie The Pooh movie, I vote Trace to voice Eeyore. The mans got pipes that can rock you to sleep.
I'll tell my husband Good idea!
Another banger, I was intro to Trace by from Bills show and the more I hear the more I like this dude!!
❤❤❤My husband is one very special man alright ❤❤❤
Great conversation, have Trace on more.
The energy these two give off is astonishing!
Energy was not the first word that came to mind….
Trace makes that Giant's chair look regular size!!!!
That's my husband all 6 ft 6 inches of him
Ooh boy another club random episode
Congrats on 100th episode🎉
I''ve really enjoyed the prior videos, but man I love this one with Trace. Might be because I'm closer to this one as having been a fan for years and having gone to Louisiana Tech as well. Trace is a total beast. been cool if he would have mentioned that Kix Brooks had gone to Louisiana Tech as well. Go Dawgs!! Thanks for bringing this to us Bill.
Good evening Bill and Trace
Yip Yip and YIP.
So relatable, indeed.
Music is medicine.
Appreciate the laughs too.
Super grateful.
🤣
💜
I walk alone a thin darling, dark shadows follow on.
Interesting man Mr. Adkins. Humble, tough, talented. A work ethic is what makes people intriguing. You couldn't BE a "Roughneck" on a rig if you were incapable of tolerating discomfort. This guy has fortitude that many lack, & in a non braggart manner. We could all learn from Trace Adkins.
He was a very long time ago
His bass voice is-Beel. ❤😂. Bill I love this because it isn’t political. Just two people sharing time and conversation and having fun. 🤩
😂😂😂😂😂
Bill "you're gonna smoke a cigarette!?" While he is literally smoking weed 😂
Huge difference
@@morbidmanmusic and Bill qualified it by saying it's probably not healthy to have any smoke going into your lungs.
regardless of what your smoking, the smoke itself is damaging and incredibly harmful to the lungs
@@JP21507Not incredibly. The data doesn’t lie
Those are clove cigarettes Bill is smoking. He's the type of person that may also drink a Zima and think he's plastered.
He did a great show in Rifle, Colorado in 2019. Walked around meeting fans before the show.
Trace Adkins is a normal down to earth kind of guy. ❤
Great episode!
Not a country music fan, but he is one cool dude.
Same! I do love classic country, though
That's my husband
I've driven the same roads Trace grew up on. Nearly all of my family still lives with 20 miles of Serepta.
The Sam Elliott of Country Music
Thanks for another great episode Bill...
Trace has got some good vibes coming off of him, and that silky voice is gold. Totally enjoyed this one. I like this podcast b/c I get music ideas, Bill got me into Sinatra, and now I will check out Trace.
Thank you Trace... your experience with Portland, Maine...is just what it's like being a truck driver..
Bill is the type of person who could never understand how someone could actually enjoy manual labor. Ive always enjoyed working with my hands and enjoying intellectual entertainment during my off time.
“I just had game, I guess” 😂😂😂
"If I hadn't a-bin here, I wudnt'a come." Epic.
Great Interview. Great Conversation.
He is my life my love my heart brakes for him every day I need him in my life always
I wanted to make you feel at home… lol great one Bill!!
I wish he would have talked about The Wreck, Being shot through the heart & Having his finger fused to play a certain cord
It's a different thing billl!!! At last someone said it to bill.
One of my favorite episodes now.
I'm 55 years old with stage 2 emphysema.

I like Trace a lot as an actor. He had a great role in Old Henry. I guess, a small role... but played well.
Great show
I like real people like this guy
I cracked up on this talk about Elvis, felt sad you never got to see a show. The one I saw was in Cleveland, Ohio, probably the last tour. My older sister had been an Elvis fan since the beginning. I remember calling her and telling her to drop everything she was doing. One of our oarty was sick. That extra ticket was for her. Free. Her hubby watched the kids. She was 9 years older than me; my younger sister was similarly spaced. I'm 76 now and looking forward to the Marietta, Ohio, show with my niece. That kind of rock held us kids together, but stations back then played everything on the same station: rock, country, instrumental.
BTW, 1st podcast for me, new subscriber. I really enjoyed the sit down and shoot the shit format. Thanks.
Marietta show (Trace)
That kind of rock (Elvis)
Great cr. Good stuff😊
Funny I grew up in a town with no lights, but my cousins owned the only tiny little store called Four Corners because it was at our 4-way stop. It's still that way. They have a siren that plays every day a little before closing time so all the farmers know to come get their stuff before it's closed
Where I lived in Westport, County Mayo in Ireland in 1961/1962 they turned the streetlights off at Midnight. "What are you up to? You should be in bed by now!"
Bill, I love your shirt!!
The interview too!
Great, thanks for sharing. 💯💯
you're welcome
I could see how Trace felt out of his element and uneasy in this show, he rode it out like a champ but he just looked a bit uneasy. Great pod cast, interesting conversation.
Trace’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner before the Super Bowl a few years ago is the best I’ve ever heard. It even beats the Whitney Houston version. What a voice.
Chris Stapleton!!!
He's never sang at the Super Bowl and he's not even close to Whitney Houston and you're the dumbest person on TH-cam
OMG you’re right! Hahaha. It was Stapleton! My mistake. It was great!
You should listen to water down I think that’s one of his best
Trace is a a humble guy
Good interview
Wonderful iInterview great job Trace
Trace actually knows his shit about drilling rigs. That’s awesome!
He worked on one many years ago
Interesting conversation. Interview flows so naturally . Mr. Adkins it’s a very humble and hardworking man . I learned many things and their points of view in this friendly conversation .🕊️🇵🇷
I was a DJ during my college years (early/mid 80's) at a Midwestern radio station. Country music was still pure then...none of the Pop, R & B, Rap influences...true country.
It's all about airtime and money. The producers, today, want to cross demographics chasing the greenbacks. It's sad because the music and the lyrics don't resonate like they once did prior to the mid-90's.
Really enjoyed Trace in the movie Old Henry (about Billy the Kid...Henry McCarty)
Best interview today-great host and down to earth former oil hand-future famous talent. Very Refreshing.
I love bull he has such range with his guests he will have Tracy on today and can have freakin khloe kardashian on tomorrow and they will both be awesome episodes cuz bill knows how to shoot the shit so well
Bill is definitely improving but the ice still weirds me out.
What a voice 🥰🥰🥰🥰
You are the best Bill, see you in Houston March 2 got my tickets ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Top 5 for sure, nailed it, loved it... Rock On.
Good stuff.
I love all trace adkins songs great singer
Bill comparing Charlie Chaplin to Elvis. 😂😂😂
I actually watched your whole ads with Chris Distefano...... Nice!!!
Club random is so much better on TH-cam than on Spotify because you can see the conversation on TH-cam. Spotify only has the voice, no visuals
Thank you!
Bill was being a nice boy tonight..😂
Woa I just made the same comment 😊
Bill didn't want to piss off Trace
Without the cowboy hat I wouldn't have known who he was until he started talking. That deep voice! 😆

The ad was brilliant.
I did "The Marijuana Program" and it WORKED!!!
I quit drinking for 3 years and the only thing that got me through it was coffee and weed.
I can't claim that I was happy.
I kept my lifetime promise of not drinking for 3 years but I was miserably unhappy for a LOT of it and I was very happy to go back to drinking and even with all of the suffering that alcohol brings me I'd rather die a drunk than be the unhappy person I was when I was sober.
