I love Trace Adkins' deep soothing voice, but I really appreciate what he has to say about the value of working hard and having a strong work ethic. I also admire that he didn't get sucked into a long, drawn-out conversation about the Civil War and confederacy which could have set him up for some unnecessary criticism by some people. His live and let live attitude should be something to be emulated in our divisive social and political climates.
I can't tell you how many times I rewatched this part dying laughing. Trace saying, "These chairs make me feel like I'm squatting to shit in the woods". Bill, "Well, I wanted to make you feel at home." LMFAO!! 8:54

This is one time the algorithm did good and tossed a Trace video my way soon as I log in. Man, what a treat this chit chat was with hivel swips and Trace lol. We're exactly the same age, parents same age, high school same, fav high school songs same, but I didn't really catch the Trace wave until the lock down, though he got my attention during apprentice. Now I've seen him twice live in last 3 years, once in the boonies and once this past summer in the rain near home. Rain never felt so good!! I was front center stage holding the raincoat over my head and damned if caught Trace looking me right the eye while singing and I chickened out and look away all shy and stuff ha ha. I did push the girl aside who tried to steal my place with her birdies hanging out because gosh dang it, I earned that spot haha. His shows and his band are so good, so seasoned and so relaxed. You can tell he's not in a hurry that gives him longevity. What he said about his voice is the first thing I noticed - the awesome matured tone in his voice and some of the vocal skills he pulls. You'll hear "damnnnnn" from the men when he tests the mic with those low notes. I hope he keeps having fun as long as he can. If you haven't seen him live, the only way I describe the aura at his shows is 'the heart of America' - truly patriotic, down to earth and just about real, every day life. So many relate to that, that you'll find yourself high on America when you leave the show. Hence the name of the last tour. Keep up the interesting and relatable format, Bill, really enjoyed this! p.s. Trace, I got see Elvis in May of 77!! With my parents, no doubt, but it was fun to sleep in the car with mom in the parking lot to get the tickets, and then come back to do the same an hour later after the cop sent us home (and lie a little bit to dad) LOL!
We met Trace in a restaurant a few years back. He's the real deal. There is no mistaking that deep soothing voice! We could hear him all the way across the restaurant. Love his music!

Being a European and not the biggest fan of country music, I never heard of this bloke before but he’s got awesome down to earth vibes. Really enjoyed this one. Cheers
Such a big Trace Adkins fan. Have been ever since I first heard him when he hit the music scene and his voice made my spine melt. Yo Bill. Elvis still holds the Guiness Book of Records record for most records (singles & albums) ever sold by a solo artist and just about everyone in the world knows the name Elvis. even if they have never heard his music they know *Who* he is.

It's all about airtime and money. The producers, today, want to cross demographics chasing the greenbacks. I love that Bill AND Trace recognize that the unions overplayed their hands in the 70’s…white privilege and Capitalism were not the cause of the problems. …and I love that Bill had no idea how oil rigs work… neither did I. Very informative! 👍
Yes. I always had that dilemma in how I'd think about it. One one hand I could see the point and purpose of unions. On the other I saw what Adkins saw, men overplaying their hands, turning unions into 'gangs' and in one case, men who sold out their own sons for a dollar. It turns me off unions at a young age even tho I see SOME good in it too.
@@jonathandewberry289 I'd call them a net positive thing, but I have seen a large factory here get closed due to an overplayed hand. I do think there's a pretty bad attitude towards them cultivated by companies in US that probably are the very ones that need unions.
@@benwu7980 I disagree and would say the bad attitude is from those of us who experienced union damage, union attitudes and sell-outs but it something else. It's people who sat in traffic as a union contract game was repairing a road for 2.5 years at the expense of every other citizens. When they sit in a hospital and everything is much worse because it's the 20the Nurses work union strike in a decade. When the union bus drivers strike etc etc etc. There are more reasons but those are some of the reasons why a lot of us have a bad take and rational reasons to dislike unions. there are more reasons why. not feelings or 'attitudes' but reasons. Yes there s a time and place and there are some good outcomes but the rule with unions had become 'more harm than good'
@@jonathandewberry289 I can't argue with that, except maybe to say those would be 'headline' cases. In the case of the roadworks, if they got a contract to fulfill, then go on strike because can hold it hostage, then can sure see why would be resentment. The nursing one is a bit thornier since they tend to keep being underpaid and overworked despite many strikes, but there tends to be some valid reasons they choose to go on strike. That is not peculiar to US either, so it's not just about the system of healthcare for-profit. I'm sure there are a lot of smaller types of unions that don't either wield their power in bad ways, or draw much attention. The technical ones tend to be pretty strong, but also quite pragmatic.
@@benwu7980 Another problem is the creation of a privilege and sometimes arrogant upper-class of union wage earners and the 'they could form a union' scab class and then resentment like this: People who earn 30k to 60k a year, 3 sick days and there is little else. this is normal. This is most very hard working people in difficult jobs. Many of those jobs require all kinds of skills, attention, training and long hours, risks and so on. Then every week they need to hear that nurses are underpaid. So are teachers, so terrible underpaid. Then they FIND OUT that nurses are making averages of 110K a year, double what they make in their field. Then they FIND OUT that the teachers in question are making 65K for far less hours and have stunning perks, benefits, juicy options, are almost unfire-able all of which adds to 120K a year. All that becomes a problem when Mary from the pool-cleaning company ends up n the emergency room to find a stunning 3 hours wait due to a nurses strike Someone informs Mary, a 45 hr a week very hardworking pool hygiene worker who's injured herself being sure to keep the pool working for a rich couple; (the rich couple is a public school teacher husband and nurse wife, making a whopping quarter-mlillion a year plus sweet benefit packages), and, someone tells 65K a year Mary "Ya but you're going to be used because she's not paid enough. you are. You're paid enough but she isn't paid enough. so you're being used to get her more money again. This kind of thing enrages people and moreso when they aren't holding some corporation to task but Mary the taxpayer's money hostage.
I love this man! Great show. I appreciate the authenticity of both men. Bill- I always laugh when you say you don’t like kids. You love animals though- so you definitely redeemed yourself there! 😀🥸🥰
Another terrific episode! So enjoy the openness and authenticity of these interesting talks, and as always, seeing my favorites and also "getting to know" people I might never have known very much about otherwise. Especially someone like me, who has historically been more of a classical music and broadway musicals fan, though I have also enjoyed pop, rock, and country, just not to the same extent. But does anyone besides me wish they could do a little something with their chairs? I mean, the club is really cool and all, but they look uncomfortable in the chairs to me. I keep thinking about that as I'm watching, and then again when the guests go to get up at the end. Maybe another cushion on top of the others that lets people sit up higher and on a more supported, firm surface so they don't sink down so deep? Also, Bill... some classical music and broadway guests? :)
Funny I grew up in a town with no lights, but my cousins owned the only tiny little store called Four Corners because it was at our 4-way stop. It's still that way. They have a siren that plays every day a little before closing time so all the farmers know to come get their stuff before it's closed
Where I lived in Westport, County Mayo in Ireland in 1961/1962 they turned the streetlights off at Midnight. "What are you up to? You should be in bed by now!"
Not a country music fan, figured Trace was just some country MAGA supporter. (I live in the country and am Republican, but not full-bore MAGA) Pleasantly surprised this was an enjoyable conversation that I stuck around for the whole thing.
Hey Bill.....you really listened to that guy asked good questions and shared your perspective on things ....but I imagine that working on an oil rig as he did is clearly not the same as a 12 hour work time on a movie:).....do more of that .....cool dude and great insight into his life well done Bill.

@@benwu7980 Another problem is the creation of a privilege and sometimes arrogant upper-class of union wage earners and the 'they could form a union' scab class and then resentment like this:
People who earn 30k to 60k a year, 3 sick days and there is little else.
this is normal.
All that becomes a problem when Mary from the pool-cleaning company ends up n the emergency room to find a stunning 3 hours wait due to a nurses strike
Someone informs Mary, a 45 hr a week very hardworking pool hygiene worker who's injured herself being sure to keep the pool working for a rich couple;
(the rich couple is a public school teacher husband and nurse wife, making a whopping quarter-mlillion a year plus sweet benefit packages),
and,
someone tells 65K a year Mary "Ya but you're going to be used because she's not paid enough. you are.
You're paid enough but she isn't paid enough. so you're being used to get her more money again.
This kind of thing enrages people and moreso when they aren't holding some corporation to task but Mary the taxpayer's money hostage.
Bill is so genuine when reading the commercials. I think it's the most fun thing he does.
Bill, I love your shirt!!
The interview too!
It's a different thing billl!!! At last someone said it to bill.
I like real people like this guy
Thank you Trace... your experience with Portland, Maine...is just what it's like being a truck driver..
Top 5 for sure, nailed it, loved it... Rock On.
Great cr. Good stuff😊
You are so precious
“I just had game, I guess” 😂😂😂
I love this man! Great show. I appreciate the authenticity of both men. Bill- I always laugh when you say you don’t like kids. You love animals though- so you definitely redeemed yourself there! 😀🥸🥰
Trace is a a humble guy
Good interview

Bill was being a nice boy tonight..😂
Woa I just made the same comment 😊
Bill didn't want to piss off Trace
I do believe the chairs need replacing.
❤❤i love this man with all that i am❤❤
One of my favorite episodes now.
Love your voice Trace Adkins
yep...that's just two ol real American men sitting round just kicking back and talking...im trying..... is still my go to trace song. no better....❤
get Chris in there for all the ads and I'll start watching them!
Trace makes that Giant's chair look regular size!!!!
That's my husband all 6 ft 6 inches of him
The Sam Elliott of Country Music
I love Bill having help with the commercials. I wish he had the budget to keep Chris as his partner. They're great together.
I've driven the same roads Trace grew up on. Nearly all of my family still lives with 20 miles of Serepta.
I love all trace adkins songs great singer
Not a country music fan, figured Trace was just some country MAGA supporter. (I live in the country and am Republican, but not full-bore MAGA) Pleasantly surprised this was an enjoyable conversation that I stuck around for the whole thing.
"If I hadn't a-bin here, I wudnt'a come." Epic.
Hey Bill.....you really listened to that guy asked good questions and shared your perspective on things ....but I imagine that working on an oil rig as he did is clearly not the same as a 12 hour work time on a movie:).....do more of that .....cool dude and great insight into his life well done Bill.
