What makes Hannibal such a memorable character is Hopkin's ability to draw you in & convince you he was dangerous but still be captivated by him at the same time. The movie was Hopkins & everyone else was ancillary to his performance.
The book by Thomas Harris is really well written, one of the books that one must ready before you die. Also Lecter is one of my most favorite villains. He is so smooth, intelligent and very well focused. Great film and great book, bravo!!
Those are what you call actors. When I see him standing there in his cell along with the realistic timing and subtle tone of his dialogue, it actually makes me feel like I'm there. Brilliant.
This movie is an outstanding work of art. The actors, Director, the script & sets. It’s a phenomenal film that shakes it’s viewers to the core & keeps them on the edge of their seats throughout. One of my favourite psychological thrillers that I’ve viewed many times over the years. The book is a fantastic read also👍🏼😎👏🏽👏🏽
I never really watched this movie and then one day recently at 35..decided to watch it. I fell for It! Brilliant classic!! Now, I remember bits and pieces of influence in past movies but needed to watch the particular one thoroughly. It was amazing!
I remember when it was in the cinema back in 1991 and read an article in the paper saying they had put heart monitoring on some audiences and they showed dangerous heart rates, which worried me a bit but still went out and rented the VHS . I loved it...
The Silence of the Lambs was by far the best horrific movie I've ever seen and possibly the best this world has ever known! The book was mesmerizing in the most nightmarish way but once you finish this novel you know you can tackle horror without having fear within you. Thanks for the upload.
Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins great actors they both won oscars! Here is a fun fact! Anthony Hopkins thought Slience Of The Lambs was a children's story!
Josi Foster is brilliant. The scene at Buffalo Bill's house is sensational: the enormous tension he expresses - his breath, the tremors in his hands - takes our breath away. She is amazing.
That's awesome that Anthony Hopkins used to pretend to be Hannibal Lecter and talk to Demme-- I would have done the same. He must have been terrified. :)
Seriously as a kid this was just released on cable i hated scary movies i was about to turn it bc it was the biggest hit going and i knew what it was about it was the scene where clarice and hannibal are talking about the lamb i stopped and kept watching even hannibals escape. How brilliant to have an fbi agent talking with a man who doesnt look or sound crazy but is a monster and hes helping her catch another serisl killer. This movie deserved the 5 top category sweep it got at oscar
I use to live just 25 minutes from where this movie was filmed in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania I-79 south If your traveling from Eire Pennsylvania to pittburge Pennsylvania and you take I-79 south the town in Pittsburgh before moon run is where it was filmed at
The best Hannibal anyone could'a been! The only other one who would'a been great at this is Chris Walken. Watch "At Close Range"; see some of the looks Walken gave- an absolute human rattlesnake. A little different look than the chilling looks Hopkins gave here, but just as deadly-cold, almost inhuman, and I can't imagine a real serial killer looking anywhere near as scary and evil. That's why they're actors, I guess. No one could look as convincing playing their own life story as a hired actor!

So true.
This movie is absolutely beyond genius. It's haunted me for years

Two brilliant actors - Hopkins and Foster - at the height of their powers.
