Let's also not forget that OL is a league wide issue. There are maybe 4-5 teams with OLs that are good to great, while there are probably 10-15 OLs that are poor. Not making excuses, the Seahawks have been at the very bottom of the league in this regard for far too long, but it's been a struggle for nearly everyone.
Laumea, Jerrell, and Sundell are going to be very good as soon as next year and if Abe can stay healthy those three late round picks could be an outstanding, cheap, IOL. Schneider rules!
I think it’s also important to point out the majority of our O-Line roster is Rookies - 3rd year players. To say the O-Line hasn’t been addressed isn’t entirely true, maybe they weren’t top prospects, but there’s lots of room for development and these players haven’t hit their prime years. With so many first and second year players you’d expect inconsistency early on, especially with a new coaching staff. Not saying they shouldn’t bring in additional talent, but there’s nothing to say this group doesn’t have potential gems in the next year or two.
I'm not bad at anyone lol I wasn't even that mad at Ryan I thought he was kinda picking it up but hey if McDonald and Grub have different vision for how this offense should look I'm not upset with McDonald's decision
To just think a Gm who’s been in the job for 14 years to just over night to change his philosophy is utterly ridiculous. The other day JS already said they have never been a big free agent player and the draft is there main focus to get better. He also has shown no willingness to use the credit card to push money down the line to sign a big free agent offensive line man. I just don’t understand the optimism that the current players on the line can all of sudden become a competent group. The packers game showed they are still a ways away. Rolling into next year hoping the line will improve with draft pick and internal development will just set this offense up for failure. This is JS last chance if he wants to keep his job, and to just keep doing the same thing that hasn’t worked for the last ten years is utterly insane. They have to attack this problem in free agency with vets and develop the young players behind them. The goal should be to take this team to contention and the fastest way to do that is to be aggressive to fix the oline, if John doesn’t he should be out and would show he’s to stubborn and arrogant to take this team back to upper tear of the NFL.
For how many years did we watch Russell Wilson run for his life? I'm not interested in blaming anyone, especially John Schneider, but the O-line needs attention. Now's the time to maintain continuity with the pieces we know work and put concerted focus on what we know has deficits. The defense is coming together so keep it together. Hopefully, retaining talent on the defense doesn't cost so much that there's nothing left to solidify the O-line. Put together an elite O-line that can develop elite continuity for the next few years. Firing Grubb may not have been such a brilliant plan because now the offense will have to start over again with yet another learning curve. Some of the struggles Grubb faced may not have been his fault. A new OC might help or it might set us back yet another year.
Well I appreciate your optimism but the Seahawks Oline had one good game in the last 6 games against the Cardinals . The other 5 they were mediocre at best. Under JS the Seahawks have given a second contract to one drafted player Justin Britt. So they are not drafting/developing good players and he does not believe interior lineman are good way to spend $$$ in free agency so he brings in guys past their prime that are bargain basement players. Hard to imagine things changing under his watch but maybe Coach Mike can change his mind.
Brother Dan, Not only will Schneider improve the O-line but the QB situation is also well in hand. Let Geno finish out his contract but make damn sure that Sam Howell is also given the same chance to improve his game the same as the O-line. Here you have a kid sitting on the bench that has more raw talent than any of the new draft prospects or other teams cast offs out there on the market. He has already been in the wars and was thrown to the dogs by a lame duck coach an a OC who was so bad he is still unemployed. Part of Sam's past problems stemmed from an over whelming desire to try to make up for what his team was lacking and along with being inexperienced got him into trouble. He can and will improve. After all, his 21 interceptions for the 2023 season was only 7 more than Geno threw this year and Geno has over 10 years in the league! I just wish all you media guys would take the time to watch all of Sam's 2023 game tapes. He is a hell of a lot better QB than he is given credit for. You would see that if you watch all those games. John Schneider knows what he has got sitting there ! In my opinion He ought to trade DK and Kenneth Walker for high draft picks. They can be replaced. Walker played like he was hurt all year and did not give of himself as he should have. DK did not seem to be able to separate himself from the defensive backs and was forced to make contested catches and his YAC numbers should have been a lot better for a man with 4.3 speed. A play caller who can mix it up better and adapt to the ingame changes should help everyone. Does John sit on his butt and do nothing or will he be aggressive and go for it? He knows what the team needs! Go for it John!! POMO
So you know he will fix the line based on what? The last nine years he knew the line had to be fixed and didn't do anything about it? And if you still think Sam Howell has a future after watching him in Washington and in his brief appearances in Seattle I would argue you don't have all that great a handle on the game. He is what he is, and a long-term NFL starter isn't it.
He is not going to really try and improve the o-line because it isn’t in his dna. He is outdated as a GM and should be fired for not understanding todays game. The proof, the fact that McDonald got rid of the players John brought in, that helped shaped the worst offseason in Seahawks history. Fire John now and end the hostage situation he has put this franchise and Geno in. I’m convinced he hates Geno, because no GM puts out an o-line like this if they believed in their qb. You bring up Haynes, but Puni was there after him and he’s a stud In year one at the same position. What happens if they’re just waiting to sign his replacement who is on these playoff teams before they fire him? How do we know that he is coming back when they haven’t said that he is our guy next year yet? Teams have been known to say he’s our guy right before firing them. Again, Seahawks won’t and can’t win with John. This team was the most successful when Pete drafted, signed or traded for players he was fond of in his college days. Don’t ever forget that and this is Pete’s team that John and McDonald are working with and so far, McDonald has proven that he knows talent better. Go Hawks!
Great thoughts on the O-Line! Would still like to solidify LG with a high draft pick, free agency, trade whatever it takes.
Laumea, Jerrell, and Sundell are going to be very good as soon as next year and if Abe can stay healthy those three late round picks could be an outstanding, cheap, IOL. Schneider rules!
Okay John lol
Go Hawks!

Thank you!!!!
Time will tell if OL will get better or not. 12s have waited for a long time. Hope we won't be disappointed again next season.
Exactly. They've been trying to fix that line for nine years and yet it gets worse and worse.
Good insights.
Nicely said! 👊🏽💯
#Hawks4Life 💚💪🏾👊🏽💯💙
Dan, can you discuss the $15 million in cap space we have for this year and the massive amounts available the next 2 years as per over the cap.
I’ll get into the salary cap on an episode soon.
I'm not bad at anyone lol I wasn't even that mad at Ryan I thought he was kinda picking it up but hey if McDonald and Grub have different vision for how this offense should look I'm not upset with McDonald's decision
Just hoping that our Line magically gets better is setting ourself up for ANOTHER mediocre year. We need to shake things up!

I hear your concern, and I literally address it in this clip.
It will improve.. because it can't get any worse..

No faith in JS.
I said at the time frank Clark should have stayed. Glad he got his 2 rings.
We suffered again. Clark was a stud
