We were all watching in 2022 when we went on that run to be 6-3 before Week 10. That was primarily on the back of a solid run game, decent pass protection, and Geno's supreme accuracy. Lucas was a huge part of that, being a huge factor in K9's explosive outside stretch runs as a rookie. Lucas has a ton of upside and we are all crossing our fingers. #72 lead the way!
@@Downunder12 My knowledge is better than your weak attempt at trolling. Hopefully when/if your balls ever drop, you'll be more creative in your trolling attempts or better yet..... you outgrow the childish behavior all together?
ANYTHING that improves the play of this OL is tremendously appreciated!! Lucas had a very solid first performance being back in. We can hope that he STAYS HEALTHY and proves to be, along with the change at center, the catalyst for an NFL caliber OL for Seattle.
Best thing this franchise ever did was not give up on Lucas and give him adequate time to get truly healthy... we have our RT back! We need Geno to quit looking deep on every throw that will help the rest of the OL. 4th longest hold time is not ok with this OL. When he is at his best is when he is getting it out quick.. That is what Penix did so well with the Grubb offense in UW then the deep stuff was there because the DL was tired. One XMas wish... JS learns that OG is a position on the team worth investing in...
If this ends up being a winning season and Lucas stays healthy and play well I still wouldn’t know how to feel about Schneider, not giving up on Abe is a smart move but he has so many whiffs on other decisions he makes that sometimes I wonder if he over analyze too much
Geno doesn’t draw up the plays, the fact that there is no easy buttons in this playbook is a major flaw. Even the “dig routes” are long developing for some reason. The other issue is without a proper run game it is impossible to not have long developing plays as they are often in second/third and long situations. It’s also obvious when they are running or throwing they aren’t really disguising much. All of those are schematic issues. Geno has been extending plays with his legs because he often needs to do so to give his receivers enough time to get open. Penix also had a relatively better O-line then Geno does.
@@Praying_Mantis3 I went back and watched ( as much as the wife would allow ) a lot of the offensive plays and while there are a few without outlets those are few and far between. What cannot happen is like what happened this game where he extends then throws to the wrong team. Grubb 90% of the plays I watch has at least one quick release and 1 dump route usually the RB/TE on the dump. If you watch you can see that Geno gets locked in on the deep WR and doesn't look off till it is too late usually at almost the 3 sec mark. Penix looked went 1-2 then dumped or didn't look deep and just went straight check. That can be due to the fact that Geno is still not familiar with the Offense but I am not sure because he had that issue last year as well. He has declined every year since the contract year. Are you willing to pay him the money he is asking? because if we do then you can basically kiss off the building process.
Good match-up for our line much like the Falcons. Cards pass rush isn't great but getting Lucas back and healthy for the stretch run is huge for us. Still concerns about our guards but at least we can find ways to help them now with solid tackles. The Hawks D looking better but they need to be big vs. this really good Cards offense. We have a 3 week span here where we could make a move but these divisional games are gonna be a tough test. Geno and the offense need to take advantage and execute. No dumb mistakes. I'm also glad Olu is finally getting his shot to develop. I want to see what he can bring to the table. He was solid, for the most part vs. the Niners although had a couple of miscues. I wasn't happy with Williams play but I wish him well post career.
That was my first ever draft and the year that I found your channel Brandon after Team 3 got traded! it was a very good draft also. Wow, we got Cross, Mafe, Lucas, Walker, Bryant, Woolen, and Dereke Young that year! There was only 2 players from that draft we dont have anymore, Tyreke Smith and Bo Melton. Anyway, last year, I felt like Lucas makes the biggest impact on the team for a single player, and he just keeps confirming it for me. I remember watching Lucas' college highlights after we drafted him, and I was impressed. It seems like his game has transferred quite well into the NFL.
Abe's' testing numbers at combine were often better than Cross. he is an athletic big dude. I often said if he was an LT he would've been snatched up very early in the first
Brando I have a crazy question. What would be your opinion if seattle drafts Ashton jeanty the Boise st running back. He is the closest thing to marshawn lynch/ Adrian petersen. And if they do draft him would you be for a trade of k9 or charbonnet. I know oline is the biggest need but if lucas stays healthy and oluwatimi improve each game I could see jeanty turning the offense into a very physical team. Also other I like seattle to try and get is starks, Williams and walker from Georgia, booker and brailsford from bama, Warren from Penn st, rourke from indiana, milroe from bama or nussmeier from LSU. The last three are qbs who if Seattle signs geno i would like a qb to learn from him like love, and Rodgers did so the young qb can develop. Plus would you be for a trade that would send trevor Lawrence to seattle while sending geno to another team. A click bait made a case for that trade just wondering your opinion on both questions
Great questions. The only way I take Jeanty in the first round is if I've traded Walker. Charbs would have no real trade value. I'd be willing to do it, as I would be Ashton is special. With Trevor, yes, I'd probably make that deal as long as the cost wasn't too great. You never know what the Jags might do, but I tend to think Trevor becomes an enticing piece for an offensive-minded coach.
Jeanty is one player I'm very intrigued about but there is multiple players I like. I have mentioned malaki starks because he reminds me of Kyle Hamilton but Jalon walker is player that I can see Macdonald liking. Booker and brailsford from bama is player who are from the deboer/grubb scheme. I started to key on Rourke from Indiana because he has the mobile big Ben/josh allen vibes who has lead Indiana to it's best record in decades. Ty Warren gives me travis kelce vibes. But getting jeanty would absolutely change seattle offense and I wouldn't be as disappointed because of how good and physical he is.
Sorry for the confusion. Air Raid. That was the college system and offense Lucas played in at Wazzu. I was referencing the type of offense, not the coach.
I’ve been impressed by Olu and Abe’s performance in the last game. Small sample size, of course, but Olu hasn’t looked worse than Connor Williams. Get Haynes out there between Lucas and Olu… maybe our right side will start looking like a… strength?!
Dear Abe,
Please stay healthy, please stay healthy, please stay healthy please stay healthy please stay healthy, please stay healthy, please stay healthy, please stay healthy.

If Cross gets it together, and Oluwatimi keeps balling out at center. All of a sudden, a healthy Abe gives us 3 quality O-lineman.
Wow...2 Oline men plus 1 Oline man equals 3 Oline men. Your depth of football knowledge is amazing

why do you think he holds the ball? if you are behind in most of your games and have to pass you are going to hold the ball for longer

Abraham Lucas was great hopefully we’ll get them back this week against the cardinals this Sunday Go Hawks let’s go get this win.😃😃💙💚👍🏻👍🏻
When we go on this run and win the division we’ll look back at genos run as the spark that lit the fire

Thanks for the great commentary. If Charles Cross can stay on his feet a few more times...we will be fine against the Cardinals on Sunday
Yeah Brandon as you know RT Abraham Lucas was my 2022 draft crush when he came out, when healthy he is an absolute beast

Bradford looking half decent in this game. I'm in shock. He has good chemistry with Lucas.
😅 Actually. It's really good to hear that about Bradford. I caught the game on the radio.
Al'GO' Hawks!!!
That was actually a really solid rep by Bradford at about the 3:15 mark.
GO HAWKS!!!
When I kept my eye on him that last game, I was always impressed. tbh I thought he'd look rusty
Now I know why Mike calls him the human Viking 💪🏽
Lucas is a monster. Hope that knee holds up and he can earn himself a nice extension
Love these film breadowns! Technical enough to learn, but not so much that my eyes roll back in my skull like with Brett Kollman sometimes.

Can you show how olu did against san fran
A great suggestion, and for sure. I'm going to do the Ernest Jones vid next, but Olu's vid's on the schedule.
You said Lucas played in Grubb’s system in college. He didn’t. He played at WSU, not UW.
Sorry for the confusion. Air Raid. That was the college system and offense Lucas played in at Wazzu. I was referencing the type of offense, not the coach.
Next year both guard positions have to go. All our attention in the draft has to be on that line. Also I think charles cross is suspect🧐
Draft Ersery from Minnesota and move Lucas to guard. Less wear and tear on his knees
But I was told we could only move the ball when Bosa was out of the game……
our scores came on plays when Bosa wasn't in the game
you have a knack for scouting oline
Thanks, Cody!
Your best ability is availability. You can’t be a pro bowler from the sidelines/IR.
