- The out feed table will be finished in this video. The dividers, top, and drawers will all be installed. The extra storage and stable out feed table is going to be a great addition to the shop.

As far as Miter slot you always cut just one slot if you are using a sled with just one slide. That way you can always match it to new table saw.
Get a cabinet saw! You've got the space!

As someone finally committing to building shop furniture and someone who also wants quality/sturdy builds somewhere between the normal/cheap 2x4 builds and heirloom-quality furniture, your series is really on point. I also really need to build an outfeed table first and didn't want to try and build the "finished" table first (difficult in my current shop setup) nor waste material building a throwaway outfeed, so building the shell of your table here and figuring out the rest later is perfect for me. Thanks for finding that sweet spot for me, lol.
Great table. More drawers! I keep seeing what I think is three 12x12 plywood pieces with hinges. The middle piece has a cutout for maybe a saw blade to store inside? It moves around on the miter saw table so it is getting used.
Also very curious about your planer stand. Always looking at cart/cabinet construction. Sheet or frame with sheets filling. So many ways and thought for function.
Thanks for watching! Planer stand is a mash of 2x frame, left over melamine on the top and bottom and some maple ply wrapping and drawers. I even edge banded all the maple ply with birch banding to finish the Frankenstein look🤣🤣 Hope you have a great day!!

The boiled linseed oil is my favorite finish. I like to follow it up with a paste wax for the slick feel it leaves. Thanks for the great video
Thanks for watching! Linseed is definitely a favorite of mine as well. Fairly priced and looks great. When I have the time to wait I like to use just regular linseed oil instead of the boiled. Takes a bit longer to dry but not much. Seems to penetrate deeper imo, don’t hold me to that tho. Just remember to get those used rags out of the shop and disposed of properly. @@squareandlevel I am. Mine was a good bit smaller. I went with poplar for the legs and stretchers. After watching yours, I could have saved money with pine. I used dominos instead of regular tenons. I trimmed my top with walnut cause I had some laying around. So far, its been terrific. With mine being smaller, and me never moving mine, I skipped the casters. I can slide mine enough to clean behind it. Bourbon Moth hit a home run with this one.

In this one you mentioned your saw predates the riving knife and you are considering replacing it.
I was in the same place six years ago.
Perfectly fine, well cared for, eleven or twelve year old 1 3/4 hp hybrid saw. The only thing wrong with it was it predated the riving knife.
When I retired and started woodworking a lot more, not having the riving knife bothered me more than it did as an occasional weekend warrior. Probably flawed logic, but my brain works in mysterious ways, I guess seeing it almost every day weighed on me.
Five years ago I bought a new saw.
While the riving knife is the most important table saw safety feature, if your finances allow, I highly recommend getting a SawStop PCS. It is an excellent machine and the additional safety feature is there as a backup just in case.
Regardless of where you stand on the SawStop, a modern design cabinet saw is worth getting and if you have the electricity a 3 hp motor is worth having too.
Sharkguard makes splitters, blade guards and anti-kickback pawls for older saws. I'm guessing he has a Unisaw. The more TH-cam I watch, the more I *think* I need a sawstop, as the majority of the woodworking channels have them. I often wonder how many woodworkers bought one because all the popular woodworking channels have them.

Have you ever installed the drawer slides prior to finishing the carcass construction? I’ve seen this done, but only by a few woodworkers on TH-cam. As I get older/less flexible this process seems like a great process.
Also, did you consider installing the laminate before doing the edge banding? I’ve never seen it done, but I don’t know why, because it seems like doing the edge banding after would provide better protection for the edges of the top.
Thank very much for watching and commenting on my videos. I have installed many drawer slides over the years but had always used the side mount slides up to about a year and a half ago I’d guess. After using under mount slides I’ve never used side mounts since. Even the cheaper “knock off” under mounts are far superior to the side mounts in my opinion. I’ve used many different techniques to install the slides, but it comes down to the weight that will be in the drawer I think. If its going to be heavy, the slide needs to be securely mounted along the length. If it’s a light drawer, just using the rear anchor bracket is fine and is MUCH easier to install. Sorry I didn’t get a better shot of this technique in the video as the outfeed table used both techniques. It’s difficult to cut 8-10 hours of video to under 20 minutes. I’ll get better. As for as the edge banding/laminate top goes, I did consider putting the top on first but decided to do it the way I did for a few reasons. 1-spills, accidents happen, and I didn’t want chemicals or whatever being able to seep in the crack and soak into the mdf possibly causing swelling and other issues. 2- glue doesn’t stick to the laminate, easy clean up and don’t have put anything down under my glue up, so I wanted the laminate to go right to the edge. @@rw7532 I’m putting the carbon coating on the new saw at this very moment!! Unfortunately setting up the new saw has pushed the next video release out a bit. Hopefully have it done in a week or so.
