@@elm0damian166 Interesting, those are not the skills I would choose, but I suppose it doesn't matter in Standard Zone either. You could play Standard Zone without any 5th skills and still manage.

Just so I can have a fully self sustaining base at all times positive on all stats so I can just do what I want when I want. In standard it's so easy I mostly just like messing around with infestations and freaks. Don't want to bother with worrying about resources.

I wish the bonus for munitions was +1 ammo for for pharmacology +1 medicine. That would make so much more sense and make them more useful than stupid storage
Yeah, that'd be a lot better. I think Undead Labs drastically misunderstood storage. This is even more true since they upgraded the base amount of storage everyone gets by +10 making these skills even less useful... but at the same time did not rework the storage system in general.
I forgot all of my methods for killing a plague heart on Legendary difficulty because it's been a while since I've played but I know 2 C4's are enough to kill a plague heart. Do not explode them in a chain reaction simultaneously. Detonate them one by one. So plant one, detonate and then plant the other as quickly as possible before you become surrounded and detonate. My fault for being away. I got experiments to do again :P
I don't think C4 are a great option for killing plague hearts especially on Standard Zone. They might be better on Nightmare, but even then, I think bloater gas clouds are better.

Heya Fox, Outstanding Video's for Education and Ideas! I have found the Thermite Grenades to be VERY useful/Helpful in Nightmare zone because you the Plague Heart attracts Ferals and they tend to run to the Plague Heart and the Thermite roasts them good. ;) In Nightmare it seemed to me about 4 Thermite Grenades destroys a Plague Heart and takes out the non-infected Z's around it. Of course I use Scentblock to keep the Ferals guessing and make it more relaxed. ;)
Can you do a top 10 5th skill video counting down to no.1? I think it would be interesting with the steam juggernaut edition launching soon. Or maybe best skills for a 5 man community and best skills for an 8 man community.
So I'm not sure if its mentioned but if it was I'll reiterate. Scentblock only works if you're character is alone. It will not work if you have npc followers. Gonna try to see if you can apply it before having npcs follow and if it keeps on or gets turned off.
@@GitGudFox its problematic if the mission requires that a non-community npc is with you and that's how I found out. Theres been red talon operatives that ask to kill juggs I just say hell no to that. Juggs are a colossal waste of resources. I've got a survivor with people skills and one with business and run the command tower radio...
One way you can kill juggs fairly safely while still being profitable is to use the sniper tower. It costs 50 to activate, and you just need to get an execution on 1 jugg to win your influence back plus a little extra.

Just curious, how many days do you typically allow a community to run in standard mode and what accomplishments do you go for to consider it to be late game? Great video!
I would say "late game" is in effect when the game starts generating juggernauts, hostile communities, and frequent ferals (by Standard Zone... standards). I don't know what specific day has to pass by before one would consider it officially late game. It's more about the probability of the typical survival taking sudden and continuous damage. In Nightmare Zone, it's day 1.
I have interest in it, but I would need to find the time to do it. I don't like making these kinds of videos unless I have... say 80% assurance MINIMUM that what I am saying is as good as it's going to get, and since I haven't even beaten all the LZ legacies, I can't even claim to have say... 50% understanding of the difficulty level.
The biochem station is essential for dealing with hostile humans quickly in Nightmare Zone because they can kill you very quickly. I just respond to the mysterious broadcasts, get one with the group of BP infected survivors, loot the supply crate, and let the horde of PZs kill them all because they usually have good weapons and stuff and there's no penalty for failing the mission soo 🤷🏾♂️. Plus the pitiful amount of influence for actually completing the mission is eclipsed by all the loot you can get from just letting them die. The biochem station, a dose of plague cure, and whatever cool shit they have on them, usually scoped crossbows, zedhunter consumables, Kbars and combat knives, etc
I never got around to finishing it unfortunately. That's when Nightmare Zone came out and people really wanted me to make gameplay videos. Most of the info is still good even in Lethal Zone. Pharmacology is REALLY good though, far better than I imagined it in the past due to the "strong pain killers flip" you need pharmacology for. It is a money making powerhouse.
Those are different resources. It isn't efficient at all if you don't have them. Selling items is about using as many types of resources as possible. Beer uses food.
Most people (me included) will not want to waste a slot on a dedicated medicine farm + dedicated herbalist + still in their base. If you're using the Brewery, you can skip that step that step altogether and make beer. Food is also a lot more abundant than meds, and it also takes away from using meds on bulk plague cures and Zedhunter items which would outrun the production from a medicine farm to begin with. I think that selling strong pain killers is a good idea, but it's definitely not a replacement for selling beer as it's way too much of a drain on medicine and ethanol to be sustainable as opposed to using both resources in a balanced manner.
ah i see. makes sense. I prefered the strong PK variant u get more influence for less ress in my opinion. But u right u need to focus on 2 resources and need a herbalist. Both methods have pros and cons. "your" method is way easier for beginners
Your method is what I'd call a build. It's a good idea, but it's a specific kind of setup that wants you to plant your roots into a base and prioritize base elements and 5th skills towards it.
I prefer to shoot plague hearts with 50 cal rounds because I usually have a partner they are shooting at it with their gun whilst I am shooting at it with mine so I typically dispatch of them with 3 or 4 shots. Same as when I fight juggernauts. I might be shooting a jug with my 50 cal riffle in the chest or head and my AI partner is usually popping magnum rounds in his face from close range.
Thanks you share my passion for this excellent game! Do you know what use Brock's 'Outlaw Chemistry' has it says unlocks outlaw Chem Lab facility upgrade but I can't see where this is done in Heartland?
I think it's a side upgrade to one of the buildings where you have to pick to upgrade in 1 direction or the other, but I haven't played Heartland in a very long time.
@@GitGudFox thanks for the response. I love your videos man. Your advice is my gold standard for the game. I feel like most people that play don't really understand the core mechanics and issues of the game like you do.
You need a strategy guide "playlist." ALL of your strategic comparisons should be lumped together for easy access. I enjoy watching your base reviews, and your skill reviews but have a hard time locating them in within all the other content you have. Right now I'm flipping through your "Uploads" trying to spot each strategy guide upload in between all your seasonal episodes and other content.
Is that playlist hard to find? If 1 person is having trouble finding it, I tend to assume there are actually hundreds of people that just don't comment also having trouble finding it. I can move it up higher in the list if it's hard to notice.
Your videos are very good and helpfull. Are you also going to make a video about mechanics and Utilities, or do you have one already? I really would like to here your opinion.😊😊😊
When Nightmare Zone was released, people wanted me to make gameplay videos which changed a lot of my focus. I do want to make more guides, but it has always been hard to juggle it with my day job and the channel gameplay videos.
@@RET-2-GO It won't be possible for me to obtain them all the same day. I have no idea when I'll review them, if I will, since many of them are very rare because they only come from rare weapon containers, and then you have to hopefully get the right ones over the other possible rare weapons... and there's 13 of them.
You can get 9 food from 3 facilities. - Hydroponics (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture) - Level 3 Garden (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture) - Level 2 Farm (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture) You can get 12 food from a level 3 farm (with compost bin + knowlege of agriculture) but only if your community's leader is a trader.

Chemistry is mostly for speed runs because you get so much ammo from it which makes killing PH early more possible
Demolitions and Pharmacology is the combination that works for me.
Is it worth it to but the Independence Day bundle?
I would say it is probably the most powerful DLC in terms of items that you get. The Pyrolauncher is one of the best weapons in the game.
Git Gud Fox It's my least favorite pack because I can't stand to use silly weapons.
More profitable? C4 or Landmines?
You referenced a video in the middle of your video with no link in the description or comment. What was the name of it?
Thanks you share my passion for this excellent game! Do you know what use Brock's 'Outlaw Chemistry' has it says unlocks outlaw Chem Lab facility upgrade but I can't see where this is done in Heartland?
I think it's a side upgrade to one of the buildings where you have to pick to upgrade in 1 direction or the other, but I haven't played Heartland in a very long time.
My favorite consumable is coffee so I grab cooking when I can
Claim an espresso outpost, and you can make super coffee.
What are the best Red Talon 5th skills would you say? I personally like Infrastructure, Demolitions, Hacking and Mobile Operations.
I've only used 1 RT character because I dread playing Daybreak.
Jack My favourite is firearms enthusiast because if you get the specific hero bonus you get 2 ammo per day
One minor thing you missed was that you need the chemistry skill in order to upgrade an ammo outpost to level 3.
Upgrading outposts and outpost levels did not exist in the time of this video.
@@GitGudFox thanks for the response. I love your videos man. Your advice is my gold standard for the game. I feel like most people that play don't really understand the core mechanics and issues of the game like you do.
Good to know cheers fox
Good points!👍
I wish I could get chemistry on my characters more often in Nightmare Zone.
They should all be in the "Strategies" playlist.
This is the first indexed episode which should include the playlist. th-cam.com/video/ZwELADU49qY/w-d-xo.html
You can also use the next/prev video on each guide.
@@GitGudFox i just saw this. thanks! I'm watching them right now!
Is that playlist hard to find? If 1 person is having trouble finding it, I tend to assume there are actually hundreds of people that just don't comment also having trouble finding it. I can move it up higher in the list if it's hard to notice.
How do you have 6 outpost slots?
You need a network signal booster. I talk about it in my top 6 mods video: th-cam.com/video/cL5r_xNyApI/w-d-xo.html&t=
I just put chemistry on someone how do I get it to be pharmacology?
You need to level it up some more.
Pharmacology is a specialization of chemistry, I think.
@@GitGudFox Don't worry that's totally understandable, but since I liked your deceptions the most of all out there, I could resist to ask. 😁😁😁
Did they announce when the WW2 weapons will be added to State of Decay 2?
I haven't heard anything since the initial stream.
@@GitGudFox Will you be doing a weapons review video when they release?
@@RET-2-GO It won't be possible for me to obtain them all the same day. I have no idea when I'll review them, if I will, since many of them are very rare because they only come from rare weapon containers, and then you have to hopefully get the right ones over the other possible rare weapons... and there's 13 of them.
I wish they would remove the Prestige cost of all the daybreak stuff it doesnt make sense
It's a pain.
Do more please
I am still working on more. They have been getting harder and harder to make lately, so I have been a bit stumped by them.
Can you make a video based on the dlc
Heartland I assume or just all the DLCs in general?
Git Gud Fox Heartland, never played it
Great Video ,i have one question how do you get 9 food from a hydroculture
You can get 9 food from 3 facilities.
- Hydroponics (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture)
- Level 3 Garden (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture)
- Level 2 Farm (with compost bin + knowledge of agriculture)
You can get 12 food from a level 3 farm (with compost bin + knowlege of agriculture) but only if your community's leader is a trader.
@@GitGudFox Ou nice thank you ,so nice to see that you answer your fans
@@justflo5146 I answer most comments within a day or so. Sometimes TH-cam doesn't tell me about new comments though.
Mechanic skill?
I haven't done that one.
I can be a pyromaniac after this. If only I have the game lol
Independence weapons are fun but a bit impractical.
Bulk plague cure? No. I have more than 30 guns, but I'll take it into mind.
love this shiiii
I feel like undeadlabs should take notes off of you
They seem to only pay attention to streamers.
Can a friend with the dlc give me red talon mods?
No, the game won't let non-DLC owners pick up the items.
👏🙂
