  • Stripping the frame ready for grit blasting. A clueless mechanic talking to his future self in the hope that he might be able to put this thing back together correctly 🤔
Back in the mid to late 80’s, I was the proud owner of a Vespa P200E which I rattle-can resprayed in a typically 80’s brash colour scheme. For over 30 years, it’s been stuck in a shed, gathering dust and rust.
Can a clueless, inexperienced mechanic bring this beauty back to life?
Many books read, countless videos watched and numerous forums trawled through. There will be mistakes, there will be cock-ups, there will be scraped knuckles, there will be tears BUT there will some serious fun along the way.
This is NOT an instructional video, quite the opposite 😁

Really nice!, but some stern advice. Producing the video you're essentially doing the opposite of what people want. We want to see you FIXING the bike, not TALKING about how you are going to fix the bike. And then you skip the actual fixing!! You're skipping removing the crust, angle grinding, sand blasting, priming, .... that's what we're here for mate! And don't call yourself a clueless mechanic, if you're a mechanic then you are by definition not clueless, it just gets silly. Stoked for part 3!

I sent the scooter to professionals to get it sandblasted and they put a layer of etch primer on to prevent rusting while I then work on the bodywork.
