Ahh, cozy ancient game commercials that are generally older than me reviewed by cozy streamer that is several years older than me. Cozier than a million fireplaces whilst drinking a dozen cups of hot cocoa. One of the best Vinny bits, along with corruptions, and weird AI shenanigans.
Fun fact: the guys that voices knuckles in japanese also voiced guts from the 90s berserk anime (and kabuto from naruto AND leon belmont from lament of innocence)

i was born in 98 but i grew up experiencing stuff from the 90s so i have lots of nostalgia for things from that era even though i only came in at the tail end of the decade. i still played lots of sega games. my family owned a sega genesis. we also had a ps1, and eventually an xbox and gamecube. so the late 90s and early 2000s is a very nostalgic era for me.
One of the reasons I adore watching old commercials is that it's a great way to engage with the culture and attitude of the era in a tighter vacuum, whether it's the stuff that was going around when I was in grade school or things from even before that. A lot of media revists to these eras tend to get alienating at times, with all sorts of unchecked -phobias or just general discomfort, but commercials tend to really sanitize these views while retaining the aesthetic. The bad vibes are still there, but sometimes, there's something cozy about a weird jingle, or a silly costume, or a bunch of actors dressed as Pikmin ready to assault New York for a singular hot dog.

i was born in 98 but i grew up experiencing stuff from the 90s so i have lots of nostalgia for things from that era even though i only came in at the tail end of the decade. i still played lots of sega games. my family owned a sega genesis. we also had a ps1, and eventually an xbox and gamecube. so the late 90s and early 2000s is a very nostalgic era for me.
That Japanese DQIV ad has the best version of the DQ theme I've ever heard, I need that in my life.

One of the reasons I adore watching old commercials is that it's a great way to engage with the culture and attitude of the era in a tighter vacuum, whether it's the stuff that was going around when I was in grade school or things from even before that. A lot of media revists to these eras tend to get alienating at times, with all sorts of unchecked -phobias or just general discomfort, but commercials tend to really sanitize these views while retaining the aesthetic. The bad vibes are still there, but sometimes, there's something cozy about a weird jingle, or a silly costume, or a bunch of actors dressed as Pikmin ready to assault New York for a singular hot dog.

Whenever there’s old advertisements and commercials you can always count on Vinny to show them off, react to them, analyze them and create the silliest TH-cam Poops with them. These Classic Game Commercials have a certain charm to them which makes them feel special in a way.
Vinny definitely has some serious PTSD problems after the Hugh Neutron Oil Drum incident...I hope he's alright, anytime those noises can come back thanks to the dumb but funny YTP library, these streams are always a joy to watch

Yup, I got that Pokedex toy back in the day. I still have it in a drawer somewhere, and I'm pretty sure it still works lol. One thing that's interesting, if you go to the page for Abra and go to where it displays its name, (at least on mine) it lets me scroll to the right even though it was already displaying the entire name, and if you hold the scroll button the text starts glitching out and you can just keep going and going with the glitchy text lol
