Galway is the second biggest tourist spot from Dublin, so the city is going to be expensive and is small so is often packed in the summer, it's also a college town so busy busy. Dublin is a little more campervan/motorhome friendly, a few no overnight parking signs, there are height barriers in some locations, but the likes of Sandymount, Clontarf and Howth and a few other spots do allow overnight parking, they are outside of the city centre, but as a Dublin person, that's not a bad thing, avoid buying or eating/drinking in Temple Bar, fine to walk through but plenty more on offer around the city, suburbs have some pub stop overs for motorhomes (Johnny Foxes is one, once you buy a meal/drinks in there, but be warned it's a big tourist spot too so could be pricey, but worth it in my opinion) The wild Atlantic way is amazing, but larger towns and cities along the route will be pricey. JP has gone a little off the route and seems to be having a "flippin" amazing experience, so that's always another option, then pop back on the the WAW route for the travel and views. And have to agree with others, we have Chippers in almost every town and village across the country, but on the quieter days opening hours may vary..
