If your pipes freeze again you could always use a hairdryer, powering it via your power bank. I've had to do this, this morning to remove the truma cover. The campsite looked lovely. Scotland has so much to offer I just hope the no parking doesn't take over and stop responsible vaners.

I had a weather station from Amazon and sent it back got a return code from them and you can drop it in at any post office and the refund was made in 22 minutes it was great hope that helps good luck Kev.
❤St Andrews is lovely our daughter has a Lodge there. Pitlochry is a lovely place it’s only one street the drive there is stunning. The Cairngorms is lovely in the autumn and summer but freezing in the winter. Aw shame you had all that hassle it’s so stressful.Get your hat on Mark looks like it could snow. The gold post box is a tribute to those who won gold medals in the 2012 Olympics. There’s a lovely ZOO with tigers just outside. Aviemore.Safe travels lovelies❤

I was up in Ullapool last week in my converted Renault Master , just me and the dogs , it was -14c for 3 days and bright sunshine , not a problem , warm and toasty in the van and no problems , all down to design of water location etc , Most motorhomes are poorly designed in my opinion

Fraserburgh has a brill motorhome aire called Glenbutchy, owners are lovely, it’s only £5 a night, overlooks the sea and they have water fill up and waste disposal (think charge extra for emptying loo)

aww poor Mark....buy some walking sticks...the one's for speed walking...some have points at the end that easily take a better hold in icy ground. He can't afford any broken limbs...he's the Driver !! He also needs to wear a hat, scarf and gloves or he'll get pneumonia in Scottish winter weather. I am booking in at Glenmore which is the other site near Aviemore on the way to the visitor centre . You must have driven past it . I was looking at Dalready but it’s not close enough to where friends are staying and I need to cycle or walk to them . May need to follow Marks tip and insulate my waste pipes . Struggling to find places to stay at on the way from Midlands and also on way back . Great video you did as I could see where I am going .

Aviemore Gold Post Box Since then David Smith MBE has also added to the Olympian contingent with a Gold Medal in the mixed coxed fours at the London 2012 Paralympic Games at Eton Dorney. As tribute to all those in the 2012 Olympics who won a gold medal, the Royal Mail painted the Aviemore Post Office Post Box gold in recognition of his achievements. The box can be seen at Myrtlefield Shopping Centre outside the Aviemore Post Office

just came across this video as I am about to come to scotland in my campervan for a photography trip. The cold has me a little concerned I wont lie, although I am excited at the prospect of some pretty winter photographs! The gold postboxes were painted to commemorate the 2012 Olympics btw. Looks like Aviemore isnt a good place for campers though, and an expensive tourist trap place to boot, so I'll avoid that one - thanks for the heads up! now to go hunt out your other videos!!

both us and our friend’s where frozen up solid we usually use the diesal heater but with being on a camp site we where on hook up and i think this caused the problem as last year we didn’t have this

Post box are gold in honor of Oulipians. You can get a 12Dc pad to put in your water tank for the winter. Good lagging under the bus is always worth a look as most UK vans wont have it as uptil recently it was thought only for summer month. Oh and I would think cost too. £10 for rice thats mad.
with being off grid water tank heater would flatten the battery’s we have lagged the water pipe but i’m going to have to re do it for next year and the rice was the most expensive we have seen 👎🏻
But you would only need the pad in sub zero. Tough full time as we are not so it’s always drained for winter. Stay warm guys. It’s going to be a proper cold week 😢
Hello. Nice to meet you. I know that Scotland is really cold in the winter, and it must have been really difficult living in a van. I also travel by motorhome, but I have had a truly dizzying experience when the water freezes in winter. I live in Korea and it is cold in the winter, but less cold than in Scotland. It's really amazing to see van life and traveling in cold weather. We hope you continue to enjoy van life safely. Hi, the wife & I went to Scotland in ’96 & had a fab time. Pitlochry was nice, one fun thing - my wife needed the public loos…..she had to pay 10p & got a raffle ticket for her payment. Have never laughed so much as I imagined someone going round the toilets calling “Tickets Please” 10p a pee!!
