TOO ambitious? Those 2 words don't go together. The amount of time it's taken has not bene unexpected by anyone taking everything into account - From Covid, to the UE5 upgrade, to starting and growing a game dev company, a game publishing company and a game server tech company all at the same time. That's not even mentioning the amount of time and effort they have to spend on being an open development, interacting with the community, monthly streams, etc. As far as I am concerned, it's all on point and been well within acceptable parameters. Game development isn't a linear thing (as in it took x long to do y much work, so it must mean it will take z time to do the rest) and setbacks are expected by anyone with at least a few wrinkles in their brain. A decade to complete a project of this scope is more than reasonable even without a Covid delay.
I think that TH-camrs covering Ashes led people to believe that the devs are holding out from content, that the showcases are just a fraction of what's really in the game. But with A2 being delayed until May 2025 (because it has, let's be honest here) I feel like they don't have pretty much anything in addition to the showcases. I would very much like to be wrong.
