Improve Your Kettlebell Snatch With These Tips

- DO KETTLEBELL SNATCHES HURT?
A question I get very often is, “how do you make it so the kettlebell doesn’t slam on your forearm?”
The PUNCH THROUGH! 🤜🏽
Punching through is basically extending your fist and kettlebell handle so that they both sweep under the bell.
This movement flips the kettlebell upside down so that the large part of the kettlebell makes contact with the forearm before the bell reaches its highest point. This prevents the bell from crashing down on the forearm when it’s above you.
Helpful tips:
-Don’t death grip the bell. The handle needs some wiggle room to rotate and flip the bell.
-Punch Through while the kettlebell is weightless. This is usually the point when the kettlebell loses most of its momentum. During the snatch, that’s usually right as the kettlebell is above eyebrow or forehead level.
-Practice lower punch throughs. Watch the portion of the video when I start at eye level and work my way to a full snatch.

I usually take my fitness watch off, good idea to turn it inward.
But does it still measure biometrics?
@@AndroidCraft1000 lol of course it does. I only wear my watch inward. I mean usually when people check for a pulse it’s either the neck or the inside of the wrist so yeah.
I wear a polar chest strap H10. I never have this issue.
Discovered that after some screen protectors shattered
@@orldoming Looks like a good option, probably I'll get one
Nice drill for building the skill. An insight that helped me: note that when it hurts, the arm is straight on the way up. Punch through is enabled by putting a little bend into the elbow by pulling the bell toward the body as it flies up.
Small but incredibly important detail.
Finally, an explanation I can understand 💪🏽
Love this breakdown. I love snatches and of all the vids I've seen, I love this one!!!!❤
Awesome, that low punch through practice will definitely help
What a great instructional video, thanks! Short, sweet, to the point, and extremely informative.
I like snatch

Great tutorial sir!!!!
Thanks for making it make sense.
Brilliant video. Thanks
Punch through THANK YOU I started today and it was fun but I wasn't punching through so my forearm is tight right now 😂😂😂 but this was great info for tomorrow's session
thank you very much
Thank you for this
That's dope, thanks!
OMG!!! Thank you for this progression. That drill is going to save me. Haha
A clean and snatch works better for me vs a swing
Thank you brother
Bravo.
This really helped, i can do them easily now 😃😃
This helps thank you
Thank you ❤❤❤
Power is all about Timing, babaay!
Thanks 🙏🙏
Ive hated kettlebells snatch for years as Ive never gotten the technique down right. Every now and then I do it correctly but usually it would slam into my forearms so Ive just avoided this one but will try again
I assumed the kettlebell was supposed to remain ball down, handle up and travel around the forearm, not upside down over the fingers and then down onto the forearm.
So the arm is locked or is it slightly bent?😊
The universe sent you!!!!! 🤗😅
Ahaaaaa thanks
The punch isn't what makes the SN smooth, it's the redirection of the arc and sneaking under the bell as it goes overhead.
Just curious 🤔 what part of the muscles does that work 🤔
What body parts and benefits does this work out have? Thanks
“Full snatch “ 😂😂
Классический рывок и сброс намного лучше!
Love snatches but girievoy dont hurt and save strenght and endurance for a while
I like this exercise, but when the kettlebell goes back and hits your arm, it can be painful.
That's the issue with those kettlebells, they don't sit right in ur arm. The competition ones never do that.
Дверь красивая
What do these work?
I am doing that but it is still slamming on my forearm. I think the 'arc' of the kettlebell is my problem. I'm making it go in an arc instead of straight up.
A kettlebell slamming is rarely caused by a bad punch. It’s usually from not using your legs to move the bell.
You also may be going too slow
The physics of it make sense for the arc idea. If you watch close, the cg of his bell is basically going straight up and slowing to a stop at the top. At the moment his arm contacts the bell, there isn't kinetic energy from the bell driving towards the arm. With your 'big circle arc', there is remaining lateral motion in the bell slamming into your arm when they meet.
Unlike the swing, which puts the bell out away from your body, the snatch has the bell go up and close to the body
What person above me said. There should be minimal swing with a KB snatch, try a lighter weight. Timing is important in this movement as well
❤💪💪👍
Hurt my wrist listening to this guy "dont punch thru "
Snatches only hurt when you've raised their kids and they leave you for a couch surfer
😎💨
At first I thought you where doing it on purpose for some karate training.
Didn't understand anything
Yeah that didnt show anything lol
It does, shows a lot... Watch the center of the bells mass and see where it's kinetic energy is going. In the 'bad lift', the mass is slamming into his arm, and that adds up to pain. In the 'good lift', the mass moves straight, and is slowing to a stop linearly, while the punch through imparts a rotational motion so that his arm comes to meet the bell while it's largely stationary, so, not driving it's energy through the forearm as before.
Техника рывка пиздец🤭
Learn to not do this bullshit💀
Best explanation and technique I’ve seen 🫡
Don't wag you finger at me @fpvfunk
Thank you
