a very wise man once said "a warrior should not have a favorite weapon, rather he should be familiar with as many as possible." Miyamoto Mushashi.
i think this video proves his point, well done gentlemen!
abntemplar82 A wise man also said beware the man who has but one gun for he most likely knows how to use it.
abntemplar82 true
A very wise man said once u fap once u fap twice.
@@yenahyena6993 A very good point. I'm not extremely wary of a guy who I know owns dozens of rifles and handguns, but I will beware the man that owns just a few reliable guns. Unless he's a total idiot he knows all of them top to bottom, and can wield them well
shut the fuck up
The AK and AR are both equally awesome in my book.
As much as I hate Russian quality control and reliability, I handled one at the store the other day and I loved the ergonomics of the upper receiver. It sat exactly where it needed to.

tactically closing the dust cover after charging the ar is an advanced technique
It's a stupid habit I'm guilty of too. I think it's just an AR thing.
@@derekwbooker93. U dont have to but cool
@@skoshaennis2991 Well, realistically, if you're carrying your AR for extended periods, its a good habit to have. It keeps your receiver debris free, and you never know whether you'll drop or somehow abuse the gun itself
You're a fucking idiot, it's called closing the dust cover, not tactically closing the dust cover, fucking moron

Tipped Lid homie you tryna start a flame war?
That was really fun to watch!
Why do ppl act like the weapon is the only thing that matters it's the person using the weapon!
Totally agree. It does not matter if you have high-end custom model of AR15 with shitload of additional equipment or a chinese AK replica. If you are bad at using it, you are bad at using it and no amount of money spent on buying and modifying the weapon will help you.
Exactly 😉 thays what matters most
Yup thats true☺
John Walsh
The person AND the weapon matter. I am most frustrated with people who act as though small unit tactics and weapon designs mean nothing. You know, the sort of people who worship generals.
Even if the person is good with guns it doest mean u hand him any gun and he be Rambo killing people's around

Judging by all the positive comments, we will have to do more videos like this one :)
I keep coming back to this video. very entertaining.
The press checks were excessive. Made me crazy, temporarily. Haha. Though, that's the 1st time I've seen a press check on a rifle, after you know you just charged it. Great video, like always, nonetheless. Always fun to watch you guys switch primary weapons, or pistols.
Can you hear the sound of your gun while people are shooting around you ? ;-) no offense
So instead of trusting your technique and equipment, you'd rather look at your firearm @maverickaegis76 during a firefight just to make sure you have a round chambered?
i runs military guns :D if you know the army, you know that those guns are the cheapest bought by your governement in a competiton test who complete olds requirements standards !!! :D so, i never trust my gun at 100% and i never trust my technique at 100%, and i teach to be never over-confident on his technique... BUT, for some weapons as light, medium and heavy machine guns, you actually don't need this by the mechanical functionnement of the machine gun... this press-check save me few times when my gun was damn dirty (sand) and a bit rusted by long-time exposed to salted water..., the spring was so damn hard, my hands so cold that i was making really bad charging moves... :D hopefully, i've done a press-check... 5min later, i needed to use my gun... conclusion keep alaways a doubt i a corner of your head when you're on the field... but on the range... ok, don't abuse of checks... ;) it's only a matter of "situations", type of guns, and confidence... hope you don't take this too bad... i'm always here to share my experience and my feelings about that... in that way of sharing experiences, i'm alaways there to discuss a bit more about it ;-) (excuse my bad english, this is not my mother language)
Ok Mr. Anti press checks James Yeager, you can go now.
i'm not against press checks but my opinion is that in most cases those are totally unnecessary
sometimes those can even cause an out of battery malfunction if not done properly
I love the back-and-forth banter.
Both are great weapons - I would feel just as comfortable taking either platform into battle. Thankfully it's not "either or" for me, I own both!
Great to see AR & AK people getting along after switching platforms. We all should learn both platforms.
Great shoot guys, very funny. But you made a good point. Sometimes we have to adapt and learn new things.
Good movie, very nice that you comparing them in this precise case, no traininig and just start and feel the difference. Wish you all the best and go on.

@Bob A what? Way to expensive and doesnt work in most environments?
I have both, and I prefer the AR-15 for bump in the night checks.
However if SHTF, the AR will get left behind like the bimbo in the horror movie.
The AK is the only thing I trust to travel and rough it.
The AR-15 is fun to shoot and can protect the home. It just doesn't get to leave.
>AR15 don't get to leave
>Afghanistan
Abimanyu Kusumo Negoro
That is quite a name, sir.
In your comment are pointing out that the AR15 did leave, and specifically went to Afghanistan?
Or are you saying that the AR15 won't be leaving Afghanistan?
+Lul Llipop both platform does well
Abimanyu Kusumo Negoro
Indeed they do. Both are the top dogs of the battlefield.
But, the AR-15 cannot go anywhere without a steady stream of lubricant, replacement parts, and tools to fix/adjust them.
AKs can run on motor oil if nessesary, and can run when rusted and damaged.
Armies use M-16s, and rightly so, but there's always an armory building/tent/facility within reach.
My original comment about leaving the AR15 at home was pointing out that I will probably not be able to get to an armory or somewhere where I can get replacement parts.
This is of course, my view/opinion.
If I had to travel, and I knew that I would need a rifle, I would carry an AK. Maybe a few spare parts, but no tools. Maybe some lubricant, but nothing special.
+Lul Llipop if you shoot your ak without lube, you also run the risk of breaking parts
breaking ar bolts isn't that huge of a problem

Both are fine weapons. That's why I own both.
lmao. im watching this while I'm eating and i almost spit my food out. you guys are nuts
All of these people who haven't walked more than 25 feet with their rifle saying they would take an AK to war over an AR.
McNasteh P I would take an AK and I will as our forces' choise of weapon is AK based...
The ammo makes the difference in weight, and they make AKs in 556.
The issue with the AK is that picatinny rails and such are addons, instead of milled in.... which makes them expensive and potentially fragile.
These guys will probably think I hate the AK platform after all of this shit.
>the ammo makes the difference in weight
The difference between 7.62/5.45x39 and 5.56x45 is no were near as drastic as 7.62x51 and 5.56x45 where ammo weight is an actual issue.
However, when referring to magazines. AK mags will never be as light as any USGI aluminum mags, even 5.56 Magpul mags can't be as light as aluminum mags without sacrificing structural durability.
Actual differences in weight are found in the rifles themselves, in which case the AR, unsurprisingly wins in this case as well by several lbs and that's not even including the weight of magazines. A full steel rifle is never going to be as light as one that utilizes aluminum is most of its construction.
I thought AK-47 chambered 7.62 and AK-74 chambered 5.45. AK-74 is where it's at if you want to make a statement, 7N6 that tumbles..
McNasteh P this guy thinking that a 1lb difference in weight really make the Ak that much heavier.. yea, the Ak isn’t a heavy rifle. It’s not like an ar is substantially lighter..
Svaka čast dečki :) Šteta što to kod nas nije dozvoljeno (mislim igrat se na taj način) :)

Shinjuku Phantasma
At once.
You guys are like brothers :) great vid as always
I'm an all out ak guy. Granted, steel is heavier than the AR's aluminum, but no one is comparing the weaker mans rifle... The ak out performs in realistic conditions.
Watching these guys messing around with each other's rifles is a beautiful thing.... haha
Are they not wearing hearing protection? I mean, i dont give a fuck... but why?
+Merlin Kropf alright, watched 5 more seconds and got my question answered
+Merlin Kropf homey they are wearing ear plugs.

Ear plugs, he forgot them on first round but they wore them the rest of the time
"was that better than zero?"...I love this scene...XD
It really depends on what the application is for. Both have strong points. Overall I think the AK is a better weapon. It's .30 cal, for combat that's going to be a big selling point. It has better penetration. The other big selling point is that it's easier to work on in the field under stressful situations. The practical combat accuracy of the AK isn't really any less than what the AR is. I think on 9 hole reviews the AK with iron sights actually out performed an AR with an ACOG on his test. The only situation I think the AR is better in is for home defense and perhaps some SWAT type roles where you'd be really worried about over penetration in CQC. For SHTF or pure combat though the AK is unparalleled.
Not true, 300 blackout, 6.8spc are just as good as 7.62x39 if not better. Not to mention 6.5 Grendel which is a legit 1000 yard cartridge. And just think all you have to do is switch uppers. As far as reliability go look at the BCM AR torture test
Stop trying to compare calibre when talking about two different gun designs, both the AR and AK are available in multiple calibres, there's a reason the Russians changed their standard calibre to 5.45x39mm with the AK-74.
I agree with your point about practical accuracy, in combat conditions both rifles are suitable designs.
The AR has the advantage of slightly better precision meaning you can convert an AR more easily with a different upper and barrel to a marksman rifle, and has overall better ergonomics.
The AK has the advantage of durability, the mags are a much better design, with the AR even better aftermarket mags are constrained by the design of the magwell and can't be as durable as AK mags.
The AR has the advantage of resisting mud ingress, with it's direct impingement design venting gas out of the bolt carrier before a round ejects, the tight tolerances and the relatively sealed design of the rifle when the bolt is in battery as well as a small ejection port there's very little chance of mud getting in.
The AK has the advantage of being able to run without maintenance for much much longer, you could literally leave it in a cave for a couple of years, pick it up and expect it to fire, in dusty conditions with both rifles unlubricated the AK is going to malfunction less.
Both rifles are excellent combat rifle designs, and both are equally as effective in the right hands.
I like the honest reviews on the rifles. Much Respect
Who came here just for the COMMENTS???😂😂😂😎

Great vid, thanks for uploading!
Those guns are so intensely customized, that the title is misleading. They're not being compared in their raw forms.
i think thats a good point
Aryan Ghomi there is no real raw form in either gun lol. they have both been around for 50 plus years and have been cloned hundreds of times. a Russian AK vs a standard issue m16 would be as close as you could get to raw form or whatever you are thinking that is. hell an m16 and ar15 are totally different rifels that look the same.
They were mostly comparing the ergonomics, by swapping guns and using each other as a kind of "control group" that hasn't already formed muscle memory for that rifle.
There is no such thing as a "raw form" AR15. The platform is completely modular and can be build 10000 different ways.
@@bcgunner9324 I think what he means by "raw form" is a basic carryhandle ironsight and handguard, same thing with the AK. The sights will help them get rounds on target easier, if anything they should've used the same sights.
this right here is quality footage

This is by far the coolest video I've seen on TH-cam I own both ak-47 and M4/ar-15/ that I built myself in 7.62 by 39 millimeter. I definitely like my AK better.
Never could understand people comparing those rifles...Try to compare the 74's with the AR at least. Russian army is no more using ak 47 and there is a reason for that- his time is passed. Why didn't u try other russian Rifles? OC-14, VAL, AK-12, AN-94, AK-74M.
Зачем их вообще сравнивать?- Разные винтовки, 50 лет разницы, разный калибр. Сравнивайте 74й в таком случае. Попробуйте другие винтовки. Надоел уже АК- о нём все знают уже всё.
Check your sources, the AK 103 was designed for exportations. It's use in russian forces is mostly inexistant or just for "educational" purposes(well, u should try different calibres to understand the ballistic differences). The 7.62x39?- No, it is not used. Just because the ak 47 is no more produced, and the old ak's are too risky to use(and it's not necessary) The ak 47 of today is a cheap chinese/pakistanese/othershitese version of the soviet one. Some hackbars would like to use it for combat- maybe. But certainly not a trained soldier in Russia, The 74th became a new symbol for us - 47th was a history even for my father(was in army in 80'), so u can imagine...BTW it's not necessary. Stopping power is not so overwhelming, but the difficulty to use a 7.62 round, especially in urban area, is still there.
same platform
+robert20351 police, armed forces, PM/SC-s in Russia use AK74M. AK103 is basically the same AK74M but made for export: there is little to no difference. Also, AK74M is now being actively replaced by AK12 and the special forces/the bigger PM/SC-s are getting AK-107 and AK-400.
Mecsympa LeBeaugosse because AK-47 has so much more street cred compared to ar, got to compare to the most famous one.
A number of possible reasons: Everyone loves to keep rehashing the classic cold war rivalry of east vs west. It's still part of many countries national identities. Especially in the Vietnam war, it was AR/M-16 vs AK-47, and the US adoption of the M-16 is still debated even today, 60 years later. It's more than just technical specs to some, it's a whole worldview.
Also, in the real war zones today, the US, armed with it's ARs, is still going up against scrappy 3rd/2nd world forces that are still generally using AK-47 type rifles, and not the more current versions. Somalia. Afghanistan, Iraq.
The AK-47 continues to be incredibly popular with civilian shooters. For a long time a shooter, in the US, had the
basic choice of either getting a very expensive AR-15 or a rough and ready AK-47, for half the price. People love debating their purchase choices, and the cost/benefits.
It's a funny video. This whole debate mainly comes down to shooter's preference and proficiency with their weapon system
An ak74 would have been a much better comparison.
Nice Vieo Guys !
