Blood is the mixture of different components that are dissolved. But each components of blood works individually. Such components are: Red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Red blood cells : it has wheeled flattened shape with no nucleus. It carries a special pigment called haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is the mixture of iron and protein. White blood cells : It kills germs specifically. Phagocytes in this eat up the germs. It have nucleus and different shapes to fight against different bacteria and germs when we attacked by them Platelets : It stops bleeding. After certain cuts, platelets stop bleeding by a connection of pattern. It heals the wound after some time. Plasma : it is a yellowish liquid. It carries waste, nutrients, hormones, gases etc from our body. All these components are found in bone marrow. They are of course present but invisible.
White Blood Cells (WBC) has the function to fight with the Germs/Bacteria that may enter our body and can make us ill, but presence of WBCs avoid this. I hope it was helpful
