Cynthia Garcia I got mine done two months ago and ended up having it swell up so bad that the ball part of the piercing wasn’t visible. I think it got infected since the piercer said there was puss in it ): it’s such a hard piercing to clean.It hurt so much getting my bar replaced with a longer one because the swelling was so bad .

I honestly don’t know what to think in terms of the pain that comes with getting this piercing since everyone seems to say that it either hurts really badly or just doesn’t hurt at all

i did 4 today, 2 on one side, and 2 on the other, the 2nd piercing hurt less
In my personal experience it didn't hurt when i got my cartilage piercings (both ears), because the piercer used anesthesia, so i didn't feel a thing. What i can tell you is, that you might feel a pinch that will last like 2-3 min.
What really hurts is the healing process, it's annoying, but you eventually get used to it.
i just have the one helix piercing and i worked myself up for nothing it honestly didn’t hurt whatsoever. i’m going back for my second in a few days. i love love love my helix :))

I've been preparing to get a double helix and I'm so scared of the pain😭 Everyone keeps telling me that it hurts a lot and I don't even know if I can do it anymore

I got my cartilage done at the same place 10 yrs ago and I never had one problem! They're the best. I got my nose and tragus there and would never go anywhere else 👍

I got my helix pierced yesterday and it didn’t hurt at all it was a little sore afterwards but other than that it didn’t hurt at all
literally just got double helix piercing spontaneously, looking at aftercare now😂
I just got my cartilage pierced on Tuesday at Claire's with a gun... it healed perfectly fine, but I don't recommend it just bc they're not professional..

$80 for a helix? Jesus! that's how much i paid for my nipple piercings. They look super cute though. I want to get 2 helix piercings like you have, but when I got my ears pierced I was in agony for weeks

Mines was 30 , and that was for both ears all together. With the earrings!! Pain scale a 2 !! Least painful!! Payed less - thankful
Yeah I paid 20 dollars. 15 for the initial piercing and 5 extra per piercing. So for two piercings with the jewelry. Wasn’t painful at all.
Mine was 40 then including the jewelry came out to 60.
Ikr! I go to asgard in Southampton, their helix piercing's are only £20. Buy one get one free. Their really hygienic there too, they use a brand new needle everytime (it can shatter your cartilage with a gun) , you can choose from whatever stud you want (their screw on backs), they numb the ear beforehand too. And you get a sweet afterwards lol. AND a aftercare note. So yeah it's pretty sick there, do recommend lmao.

juliana carreto yeah ikr I’ve been blessed with ugly elf ears. I want to do a mid helix piercing because I can’t do a regular helix piercing with my pointy ears. They are also at a weird angle where the top of my ear (helix) is stuck to my head. And the middle and my earlobe like extrudes out.
You do realise piercings have an addictive quality 😊 and I think the 2nd hurt less because you knew what to expect. I got my anti -helix done a couple of days ago but it's a super annoying place to clean. Super cool though

You're super pretty! i can't stop staring at your beauty lol. I also got my double helix piercing and i was literally fine the whole time like it's just a flinch and that's it. I think anyone can handle it. I have my nose and my belly button pierced and I have to say the helix piercing was the easiest out of all.
i have one helix and thinking about getting a second one fr. my first helix didn’t hurt at all, it only hurt SUPER bad afterwards, like wind made it throb and i had to have my hair up for the first week or two. i also could only sleep on the opposite side
I just got mine done a hour ago and it doesn’t hurt AT ALL I didn’t feel a thing but it’s worth it!
Mine cost about 150 cause my ears like to reject jewelry. I guess my body only likes to have nice things.

Angie Ardon I just got both ears pierced and it was super painful for me, but I’ve got a really low pain tolerance so I’m a wimp anyway lmao. It’s been like 2 days and they’re kind of sore and achy, though they hurt so much if I accidentally know them. Don’t get both ears pierced at the same time though!!! You can’t sleep on the piercing for the like 3 months it’s healing so if you sleep best on yourself side do one ear at a time to make it more comfortable for you
I just got them, it was honestly my most painful piercing and I also have a chest dermal, but it still wasn't unbearable. The most frickin annoying thing is sometimes it acts up and feels itchy, but also hurts... It's a weird unexplainable sensation and not even cleaning or itching it makes it go away, u just have to sit through it😩

Amber westlake I completely understand what you mean mine will get itchy at random times for no reason and it’s so annoying to deal with bc you can’t really scratch your piercings so the Itchiness will go away
I *really* want a helix... the place where I always go for piercings does it for $63... I’m just scared about the pain and healing. I have a question though... can you get it with a ring when you get it done or does it have to be a stud?
Ya there some places where u can get it with a ring plus the pain if ur doing it with the needle it hurts like seconds when they poke it but afterwards its gonna be sore but with a gun piercing my opinion no bc its gonna hurt more :)

Not sure if it’s the same in the US but in the UK most professional piercers will only put a flat back barbell in first to reduce complications during healing plus making it easier to clean during healing

Over 20 years ago I had my helix pierced at Claire’s. I also have 6 other piercings,too. A couple weeks ago I had an industrial piercing with needles. It did hurt. I am glad that I went through it.

Jaime Gosling that’s not the case. that’s only happened to a few people, but what is true is that it is in fact possible, but rarely happens. I got my helix pierced at Claire’s and so did my best friend, and both of ours are perfectly fine. I would still recommend getting it done professionally though :)
@@nanashi_nina6998 NO! Its not okay for a ear lobe piercing either. Guns pretty much rip a hole through your ear because you are shooting a blunt earring through your ear. Needles make a clean hole for the piercing to sit in. I have two pierced with a gun when I was younger because I didn't know about the needle way and my other two with a needle. Healing time with gun vs. needle was night and day. Gun piercing healing was so bad and I was in so much pain. Needle piercings healed faster and hardly any pain at all. NEVER, EVER get any piercings with a gun. Its not sterile or safe.

I got my helix pierced it hurt so bad for me😭 I have so many piercings but this one is definitely the most painful and sore
what the heck i got mine done today for over 300$. the pain of it isn’t that bad when you get it pierced. it’s more just a feeling that’s uncomfortable. after getting it done though it throbs and is a little sore. i would totally get it done. don’t think twice about it
I had to take my piercing out. it was so painful after sleeping on it. started throbbing and then turned a bluey colour had to take the stud out. I was so disappointed. i wish i had watched this before i took out as i would have gone and bought one of those pillows.
Smart tip with the neck pillow! I'm thinking of getting a double. I have a single on one ear from ages ago and can definitely say needle piercing is the only way to go.
Just got a double helix today, and the pain I rate it 1/10 really did not hurt at all, but on the second one 2/10 cause the blood was rushing there already from the first one lol. So don’t worry guys cause it does not hurt just the aftermath does cause it will be sore for a while.
On my left ear that I have my cartilage/helix pierced twice at different years apart from each other. My 1st on was pierced with a gun on late May 1999 at Claire’s. My 2nd one was done at a piercing studio with a needle. That one didn’t hurt as the one done at Claire’s. I still have them both. I also have 10 more piercing. They are mostly on my ears. I have 12 totaled. 6 on the left ear and 6 on my right ear.
What else can you use to clean your piercing? Sea slat solution? I have heard that antibacterial soap can be good and bad.
Okay so i know this was really stupid of me to do but you guessed it, i pierced my double helix myself and my ear is very swollen and i don't know what to do any advice?

Have you tried spark through advocare? That's all I buy from that line but it's my favorite preworkout great energy, delicious (watermelon is my fav) no negative side effects. C4 made my heart race, skin itch and gave me the shakes!

Got mine done today and the pain wasn't there just some uncomfort .plus the worst part of it all is sleeping on one side .hope this helps 💜.
i got the exact same piercing at claires lol. Got it done on both ears. Worst mistake. Didn't heal until a year after.
Hailey Vanderburg Please please do not get anything done at Claire's it's not worth the risk of them messing up your piercing and getting an infection. They ruined my seconds on my lobes.

Clairs is not good, they use piercing guns that can shatter your cartilage and cause permanent damage. Also their staff is only trained for 3 days in order to be a piercing person

I've been to Claire's and had two lobe piercings and they've been absolutely fine. But I would go to a piercer with a needle for a cartilage

All three of my helix piercings felt like sharp pressure. It wasn’t fun, but it was not unbearable. I think it depends on exactly where your piercing is placed.
AWW GIRL this gives me flashbacks. when i got my double helix, my attitude was "go big or go home" so naturally i got four piercings at once (second lobe on one ear, tragus, and double helix) then i went back in a few months and got three more (other second lobe, conch, and forward helix) and now i want to get another triple lobe on one ear xD

day to day, nothing really hurt too much. It's not like the piercings would just hurt constantly. the most painful healing process for me, personally, was the double helix, just because of the position they're in. they would always get snagged on my hair or i would hit them on things, which hurt pretty bad for maybe two weeks? and for the first few days it hurt to move the earrings to clean them. but after that they were all perfectly fine. the pain's really not that bad, and of course it's temporary, so i wouldn't let that stop you from getting it if you really want it. hope it helped?

I pierced my helix myself by my own and it didn't hurt at all ofc I had to take care of it alot more then normal just to be safe

DO NOT get it on each ear in one day! Once you get it you cannot sleep on your side, so if you get it double, you can't sleep on either side! Trust me here
I would agree with the commenter above, try and limit it to one ear at a time.
You won't be able to sleep with both.
I got my double helix today. The top one didn’t hurt at all, but the bottom one was super painful. I didn’t do my research before and got it done at Claire’s, but I think they did a good enough job. If I remember to, I’ll do an update in 3 months

+Amanda Nascimento The price really depends on the jewelry you get. But I personally wanted to get them pierced at the same time so they can heal together. Your ear does hurt so I didn't want to go through the pain twice and have to wait for double the time to heal

random_dancer01 I got mine done yesterday. I got my double on the same day so the first one felt like a pinch but the second was much worse bc it was already irritated. So like a 6.
I got mine done around 2 weeks ago, the piercing itself didn't hurt it was just while they were cleaning it that was aching, It didn't hurt after I got it done but around 3 days after it swelled up and went very red and hot but I put ice on it and used tcp and it's now fine, tcp definitely helps a lot I don't use it every day though I usually use it if I have pus coming out or I have caught it on something, Goodluck!!

It burns and the area of the ear is very sensitive, just a flick of a finger could leave you on the floor screeching
Plus Ye can’t change it yourself and I couldn’t sleep for the first week since the pain and every time I’d lie down my ears would explode
I had a triple done yesterday.
I'd say it's about a 7/10. It felt like getting a bad flue shot three times in your ear. Afterward it felt like I burned the top of my ear with a curling iron.
If you don't sleep on it/touch it, it shouldn't hurt too much, but it does still throb sometimes and hurt when cleaning.
If you truly want it though, don't worry about the pain. It will be worth it in the end :)

The piercing didnt hurt getting it done, my pain tolerance is really low but it was around a 4/10, but the healing process is a painnn😫😫

Mine doesn’t hurt and I did it with the gun twice I’m 5 weeks in and I love it and it’s healing fast before I got my ear lobes 3 times. Claire’s did great
