as someone who's been to the efteling a lot of times in her life, you make it seem so much more magical. i sometimes forget how much detail there is (at the carousel for instance) because it cas become so 'normal' so i really love seeing it from your perspective! it makes me love the park even more!

I seriously recommend Toverland in Sevenum, the Netherlands. It is a smaller park (but getting big quickly) and has a magical vibe to it. It is small enough to do in one day and have all the re-runs if you want to.
Pins are actually a really big thing in Efteling, people (myself included) collect them. Why there was only one is because they keep most pins as limited editions. There is also a little blacksmith on the Anton Pieck plein, when you put in a 2 euro coin the doors open and a little blacksmith animatronic will 'make' your pin and you get one of four pins.
Oh, another tip! There's these interactive Pardoes wands you can buy called the 'Interactieve Twinkeltoorts'. (The ones in the box, not the ones sold without packaging because those are just toys. The right one is like 20 euros so make sure you get that one and not the cheaper unpackaged one!) The wand lights up and makes noise when you're near something interactive in the Efteling and if you then wave the thing around or put it up against one of the panels something happens you wouldn't get to see otherwise. One of the places you can do this is at the teasure chest ATM. It does stuff in Symbolica too. It's mostly meant for kids, but it's cool to get to discover the Eastereggs.
If you loved the smells from the attractions/shops so much, you should have bought the roomsprays! Those are the exact same fragrances as in the attractions. 😍 Love them!
Not the food maybe. But the drink at the station could be the cause of sudden illness. Anyway it was a fun review again. And Denise was fun too. She even has a bit of princess vibes. Like she belongs there. Or a droomvlucht fairy on her day off. The only problem I have now is that I feel like poffertjes. I guess you will go there again if you have the chance. 2024 the new ride "Dance Macabre" will open. Video of the concept is on youtube. That will be a combo of Villa Volta and Sinbad.
I have loved this series! I've never been to Efteling so thank you for bringing us along! It was so lovely to see everything you experienced and the fun you had with Marie too! I am so sorry about how your trip ended! Being so unwell on the Eurostar must have been hell! I am super glad the hospital were able to help you feel better!

The carrousel is great, yeah! It's super old too, around 125 years old I believe. It's from the late 1890s if I'm not mistaken. The best places to sit in there are the carriages though, for sure. More movement than the horses.
I am so sorry you got sick from the hot dog...I am surprised you got sick and i hope the Efteling takes this serious and check their hot dog stand. To pronounce Pardoes i would say the par is like saying in english the word park...without the k of course...And the "does" you pronounce that like do's..I can't really explain it differently i think. I really like Europapark..I went there last september. If you do not want to stay in a hotel in the park (it is very pricey) then you can stay at Hotel am park, Rust..So much cheaper and really really very nice..I recommend it. If you love the Efteling you would like Europapark for sure.
Loved your vlog of the Efteling. I've been going there for about 45 years and I know it's good. Now nearly every week. Love to see other people react to the Efteling. I'm sorry you got sick afterwards. I Had a simular reaction (not that severe) this summer. Turned out I can't handle sugared drinks anymore. It was not the Efteling fault. They helped diagonse my problem though.

You may have just gotten unlucky and got a bad sausage or something while your friend didn't. Or she has an iron stomach 😂. Well,since snacks is in the title, this is good moment to... Not even finish my St. Nicholas food. December in the Netherlands: eating Sinterklaassnacks with christmasslights on. Even if you don't buy them, there's a fair chance you still get too much of them. Talking about Sinterklaas, the other day you ate at Het Witte Paard, which is The White Horse of Sinterklaas, currently called Ozosnel, but once America (which was a nice nod to Santa, oh well), since it is opposite Sint Nicolaasplaets. Considering the quiet crowds, that's becaus you went there schooltripseason is over... And it still is.
I’m going to Efteling on 12/30, so I’ve been playing Efteling vlogs on loop. Lots of help in finding a restaurant to reserve and prioritizing what I want to see on the one day I’m there.

I do not know if you already know, but in the last room of Fata Morgana (the one with the "snake creature") the room tilts, while you're moving through it. If you love Fata Morgana, you should look out for it next time visiting!

About the "I got sick" bit... First of all, I'm not a doctor, but that said... It sounds like you had stomach flu, which is not that rare to get in the autumn, but since ypu had three physically relatively busy days that probably put you over the edge. When I had the stomach flu,the doctor advised me to eat & drink.. well sip. Even though you feel you spit it all out. This said: 38.8 C? Oof! And secondly: that's fever, so apt. But yeah. When I got better from it, I said "I don't even wish that my enemy got this". I think I got covid this year and stomach flu was far worse, as you know now?
I think maybe that bottle of coffee you got in Rotterdam station may have triggered your food poisoning and your friend didn't have this I think. You can get food poisoning if you eat exactly the same as another person that don't get food poisoning but then you're more likely to get this easy or basically all the time.
The pins are actually a big thing. Hence it's hard to get them and there aren't many of them. Better put: at times there are less. I wouldn't mind a flag, even though 1937, not 1952. And yes, we call badges buttons in Dutch. Don't ask me why. Finally... Think French: Pardousse. Just think of him in chocolate mousse: Pardoes par mousse. :)
Best tip: eat some dry, light toasted bread. Nothing on it, very important!!! Fat like butter will you make you even feel worse. Never drink water but light tea. Just fly the teabag over it.
Fata morgana was based on the 1001 arabian knights stories , sinbads adventures , and Arretje Noff etc all middle eastern themed stories. Vogel Rock actualy beeing part of sinbads adventures as the bird in question is a Roek (Rook a giant singing family member of the crow and raven ) sinbad has an encounter with . . For the age of Fata morgana it did held up to the age of time. 1980s darkride .

Drouwenerzand is also a nice one, even smaller then Toverland but everything is all included. Everything from drinks to food to ice cream.

At the poffertjeshuis ALWAYS take the kids portion. It comes with candy or fruit and a souvenir plate
