He was infected by Eveline's mold (the same mold that infected the Bakers), which is why he "survived dying" in RE7, and why he doesn't die in RE8 despite getting stabbed in the gut, getting his hand cut off (and can reattach it), etc etc. It's also why that magical healing Mountain Dew actually works on him. It comes across as ridiculous plot armour but it's basically all foreshadowing for the reveal.
Charlie's mic is louder than the game volume to the point where I feel no suspense. I usually only get scared if the volume is high enough to a certain point. Maybe that explains why Charlie literally doesn't get scared, or he adjusted the game volume to be lower than what he is actually hearing for his viewers and is actually not scared

Ethan actually died in Resident Evil 7, where the old Baker guy killed him when he first gets captured ("Welcome to the family, son.") He was infected by Eveline's mold (the same mold that infected the Bakers), which is why he "survived dying" in RE7, and why he doesn't die in RE8 despite getting stabbed in the gut, getting his hand cut off (and can reattach it), etc etc. It's also why that magical healing Mountain Dew actually works on him. It comes across as ridiculous plot armour but it's basically all foreshadowing for the reveal.

Charlie's mic is louder than the game volume to the point where I feel no suspense. I usually only get scared if the volume is high enough to a certain point. Maybe that explains why Charlie literally doesn't get scared, or he adjusted the game volume to be lower than what he is actually hearing for his viewers and is actually not scared
