In case anyone is watching this in 2024 (3.24 Necropolis): -The max charges gain when hit by enemy is now 3 -Your flask needs to be ilvl 80+, hold Alt while mousing over your flask to see its item level
Christ, I skipped a few leagues (kind of, as in just didn't really metagame) and had no idea those crafting options existed in the bench. Thank you so much!!!
I remember when I was working as a lumberjack shifting 10-12 tones of timber every day and now my hands hurt from playing video game. "I'm old Gandalf." - Bilbo.
Holy hell, when they added the Orbs for the automation I thought they sucked because you still had to keep rolling for the god damn right mod... Fast forward to today, and I was still fucking rolling for the mod like a god damn chump, because I had no idea they added them as crafts. Honestly, thank you for this.
I think it's better to have "Use when flask charges are full" on one of your utilities and then "Use when adjacent" on the rest of them to the left. This way, while they are automated you will always have half charges on things like jade/granite and if you need them you can just press the "Use when full" flask and it will trigger all of them.
Thanks super helpful. I had problems with my right hand. Its the thousands of clicks an hour, especially when your making 6links or transferring inventories. I bit the bullet and created a left click macro using standard mouse software. Its sooo helpful. I dont care if its against GGG's TOS I feel its morally acceptable to break the TOS for health reasons. I used the macro for 6 to 12 months and no problems (except sometimes if you hold it down too long, the game auto boots you)
I have accessibility issues due to severe joint issues and carpal tunnel on both sides, if it weren't for flasks I'd be able to play so many other builds. Every league my boyfriend says "We will get a Mageblood so you can play" and looks so desperate and sad and worried for me. It's too bad one of the most expensive and difficult to obtain Unique items is the only true answer for players with accessibility issues. Instilling orbs help and I am able to enjoy the game on "1 button builds" but will never be able to play most builds due to pain. We've gotten to where flasks are my main source of pain. As a community, healthy gamers alongside gamers with accessibility struggles: we deserve better. Period. All of us. I don't want what I have for my fellow gamers; my arm/wrist/hand issues are a result of being on the computer all day sometimes for work (I write), school (I write even more), or what should be nice fun relaxing gaming. Whether you have a diagnosed disorder or just start to wonder why does my hand hurt SO MUCH after a few hours of your fav game, we ALL deserve better. Not a near unobtainable Unique that is their best solution for healthy gameplay.
Just use macros on a mouse. It’s “bannable” but they don’t check unless you actually say publicly you are using it, ie a streamer or on the PoE site. I can’t be bothered to have pain while playing the game, so I just do it.
One minor recommendation is to keep your chill/frozen protection flask with “used when chilled” , I can’t tell you how many times my flasks were out and I froze to death from a Harbinger pack. If you’ve got some % of ailment avoidance, you’d probably be okay spamming it but I prefer to keep a second Quicksilver just for use when chilled.
Wow this is huge. I'm running a minion build (skeleton mages), is the 'get a charge on hit' on flask viable for a minion build? Since my minions are getting hit all the time, but myself not so often. Thanks!
You can scour(white items only need 4 quality items for 20% even maps), then use 4 baubles(buy for 8 whetstone each at any blacksmiths last page, so 32 whetstone(8 ea)/trade up 96 armor scrap(24 ea)( per flask) then enchant then alt till you get a good prefix(t1 or t2 and certain mods only available at certain ilvls)(you can get a suffix at einhart to pick an immunity you dont have yet for free) or prefix and suffix. you can make really good curency (10-50c per) with charge on damage take,/charge on crit prefixes or t1-2 speed prefix on higher lvl 20 quality flasks for just a few alts! This works best early in the league because some people love to jsut buy their flasks instead of messing with them. its good cheap gambling while waiting for trades as well. check out poeninja what to rolls to watch for.
if i am evasion based, gain charges when hit by enemy isn't that good for me? or does the hit still "count" and i take no damage. not sure how that works.
I have a nooob question, if my build is evasion based (trying the zizz/xai phys poison trapper) is this still effective? as in, does evasion actually avoid the hits so the flasks won't charge? or do the hits still count but the 'evasion' waives the damage type of thing?
I don't know why. Maybe because I'm a.musician or because I played MMos for a long time, but I like "piano'ing" my flasks. I've been doing it for so long it would be difficult to not do it anymore. Perhaps my fingers are more dextrous than most idk. I don't use my wrists at all (which are actually kind of shit).
Thanks for that. Very helpful. I'm playing on console for the forseeable future and the flask change was really nice. Good info about how to craft them too. How come Einhar crafts are not as good anymore? Also how important is item level?
Great info, thanks! Luckily I have no muscle memory to contend with. I have never done flask piano, I tried repeatedly and just couldn't do it. So this would be a way to actually benefit from flasks without needing to active them every few seconds.
Wow, thats a nice change. I was playing with controller for a but and was like, 2 flasks will be very hard for me to use, that sucks. This changes everything :D This should be an "option" imo.

I came to say this! Playing on the controller makes this game SO enjoyable. This control scheme makes it easier to play while reducing hand strain. Once I got the layout configured, I was impressed. Any build can be played with a controller.
Wouldn't "used when adjacent flask is used" be better even tho you would have to use 1 flask manually to trigger others? Used when charges are full will stop activating if you are not killing anything like if you stopped to pick up some loot and then moved onto next pack of mobs.
@@raygo44 That's what I mean. You put 3 flasks on 'used when adjacent flask is used' and then the remaining one is the one you can put anything you want on. You can even experiment with different triggers at the cost of only changing one flask

Small note on the crafting part. If you want the armour or evasion rolls more easily, use the defense crafts from harvest.
Thx. I did not know that
Can you use the ele crafts to get higher chances of the ailment immune/effect ones?
I remember asking about this on stream a couple days ago. Thanks for the more in depth guide BD!

How do you unlock them? They aren't showing up for me....
its my second season and it was by far the best advice that directly changed the gameplay for me!
If you don't want to spend your Instilling orb just get Mageblood. Works fine as well.
🤣🤣🤣
lmao
That's my plan, saving up for one. At 27c right now so shouldn't take much longer
Considered it, but my build would get worse a lot by doing so
@@thalon3707 yeah, not an option for ignite builds

It won't be as good but is still very solid. Spells will still hit and you do get hit occasionally still.

Yes
Yes, you still get hit
Yes. All block, tanky characters can have constant flasks uptime. In boss fights that depends - can you survive most hits?
definitely helpful
300 OoA gone and did not see a single "gain x charges..."
Does the "Activate when you hit a rare enemy" work with trap builds?

It totally works, made exactly those flasks for my pathfinder and safely running Red maps at 3.5k life
Does the item level of the flask matter for getting the mods?
Yes I forgot to add this in as I recorded it twice, you typically want 80+ for the highest level mod but 70s~ is fine for the most part.
I've never had a problem with my left (flask) hand, my right (mouse) hand gets the issues
Always learning from your vids, had no idea i could use the bench for flasks. Now, lets talk about this build of yours.
