I just think it's hard for her to look back at her career in the 90s because her voice was seriously perfection. She had Perfect pitch, and such control over her voice. She's still an amazing singer today, and still can sing better than anyone i've ever heard..but even Mariah isn't as good as 90s mariah, and that's got to be a hard pill to swallow. Still, i LOVE that she's still with us, and putting out projects to keep busy instead of just giving up because she's not as mainstream as other artists, or because she's not topping the music charts like she used to, or because people don't appreciate her lyrics and all the work she puts into her songs, nor the fact that she's paved the way for/ and inspired so many people,and a lot of todays artists. I wanna see Mariah doin what legends like Tina turner, Patti labelle, dolly parton etc are doing....Putting out music, for the FANS. Just because they're "old" or aren't as popular as they were back in the day, or because they get no love from Radio stations, or award shows does NOT mean they're not talented. People need to respect those that came before whatever is out and "Popular" now. Beyonce, Rihanna, taylor swift, Meghan trainer, adele...they will grow old one day too, and people will say ignorant, and hurtful stuff about them too as time goes on... Also, she did not like the person she was in the 90's because she was controlled by Tommy Motolla and she lost who she was. She was finally free around 1998, when she got divorced and regained control over her music. I still love her no matter what and she will forever be a legend!

Her inconsistencies, resulting in "hit-or-miss" performances, wasn't really noticeable until around 1999 and so on. I also think that's why people are bashing on Mariah recently, because we see the bad performances, which were mostly televised and from the beginning of her TECS, almost constantly. When she can/does sing well (excluding the lip syncing), she delivers great vocals. It can be almost the same as the records, the same as the records, or even better.

However, I prefer her live performances, most of the time, than what she does on record. I know they are not always up to par to the studio's version, but something about her live performances just amazes me.

+F. Mora I wouldn't say never again. I believe that she has inconsistencies throughout her singing career, because she has nodules from when she was a kid. Her inconsistencies, resulting in "hit-or-miss" performances, wasn't really noticeable until around 1999 and so on. I also think that's why people are bashing on Mariah recently, because we see the bad performances, which were mostly televised and from the beginning of her TECS, almost constantly. When she can/does sing well (excluding the lip syncing), she delivers great vocals. It can be almost the same as the records, the same as the records, or even better.
