I’m with you on rock scrambling. We went to Vegas, found so many places to climb all over rocks, so much fun!! This series to Alaska has been so fun to watch, you guys are my new favorite couple to watch.
When I met my Norwegian wife, it was in Joshua Tree National Monument. My family started camping there when I was 6. One of my favorite places on Earth
Around 40 years ago as a teenager in Joshua Tree, my friend and I bicycled from town up to Barker dam. Took hours since it was pretty much uphill all the way. Plenty of water there then. Really fun ride coming back!
Thanks for posting! Joshua Tree is on my bucket list. Love the mix of Joshua "trees" with the interesting rock formations. Would love to do some astrophotography.
Our upcoming ones are all pretty long, but it takes a lot of energy and time to produce and edit long videos, so it’s nice for us to have some shorter ones too.

Oooh the sun rise in hidden valley was just beautiful ❤The rocks around Skull and Arch rocks really remind me of the elevated section of the Devil's Garden trail in Arches. I'm a fan of rock jumping and scrambling so would have been loving it as much as you ended up loving it Kathryn! Whilst the Cholla Cactus garden may have looked different in person, what you captured on camera was just magical! Really enjoyed getting to see the park through you guys as its an area I've wanted to visit, but never have done!

That means a lot Eric, thank you! And that’s a very tough question! I feel like Palo Duro is more iconic (for good reason), but we loved the less busy feel of Caprock Canyon (+ the bison).
Everything about Joshua Tree is magical which is why I moved here from my hometown of San Diego in 2006. If you're young and in shape, I would recommend climbing to the top of Ryan's Mountain. It's a real sense of achievement!
Glad y’all got to do trails there I went July 2018 and it was like 111 degrees we didn’t do any trails then Death Valley was 122 at 830pm. I couldn’t take the dry heat to be out the car. From fla but was out west a month and still couldn’t do Death Valley so we just drive around there. Definitely a smart move going in cooler weather
Great job! I just visited Joshua Tree and you went to a few more of the sights that I didn't go to. I found the area around Skull Rock crowded as well and I probably rushed through my visit to the park. I had just been to Death Valley a few days before. All in all, I enjoyed Joshua Tree but just wish I had more time and energy for a few more hikes that day.
Love it! What a nice relaxing vid...haven't been to Joshua Tree for about 20 years now. Feels like such a distant memory now, but it was cool seeing your experience. I do remember just loving the rocks though and climbing all over them like you said. I do want to bring the kids there just for that reason. No Bob Barker Happy Gilmore quotes in the outtakes? Oh...congrats on 90k...I feel you'll hit it after this one.
We really enjoyed Joshua Tree when we were there last year. You have got to go to Death Valley if you haven't been there yet. That was a truly awesome place with some amazing colors. The Artist Palett will knock your socks off with the colors.

It stinks there wasn't any water there, that would have been cool to see in the middle of that landscape. But I love all the cool rock formations, and it really did look like a skull! Do you know if the holes in the rocks there were carved by water?
Hello Adventurers😄😄😄, Joshua Tree National Park looks AWESOME! There seems to be lots of huge rocks to play on and the trees look very interesting. How are the gas prices out there? Great video! Can't wait to see what's next👍👍👍👍👍.
Thanks Al! And they are pretty high haha, around $6.50 a gallon for diesel, but we're making it work! Still not worse than the prices at Death Valley though!
Was hoping to see you get down to the Cottonwood area of the park. Cottonwood campground is beautiful. February is too windy, though. After recent rains, the wildflowers should be gorgeous right now.
This was our first park we visited on the west coast. We had no water when we visited Barker so don't feel bad haha. Arch Rock is pretty cool, but definitely smaller than we were expecting. Check out Hall of Horrors next time you visit. Cholla is by far the coolest little stop in the park where the two deserts meet. It has a Big Bend meets Palm Desert vibe. Enjoy Death Valley, we were there in December and you will love the cooler weather. :)
Hall of Horrors looks like a cool spot! We loved Death Valley and are so glad we booked it there to enjoy it in cooler temps, it would be tough in the heat!
@@AdventuresofAplusK there were a few things we couldn’t do there due to flooding. Glad you enjoyed and will check for it when out. :) And I promise I’m not plugging it, but I find it funny because our trip in the park won’t be released until June. We milk our vacations 😂😂😂
Oh good, Death Valley! I am hoping you make it to all the National Parks headed North, but wasn’t sure if Death Valley would be out of your way. My daughter would love all the rocks at Joshua Tree.
Are you guys passing through LA? While working your way north, you should stop at Alabama Hills. Looks similar to Joshua Tree but with the seirra mountains as the backdrop!
We skipped LA this time (we’d rather explore there without the van) and we had hoped to visit Alabama Hills, but we’re saving that for a future trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains!
I need to go back so I can hike. When I went it was over 100° if not over 110°. Not my choice. 🤷🏻♀️ Joshua Tree is still my favorite of the few national parks I have been to so far.

Most national parks aren’t very dog friendly. Only a couple spots in Joshua Tree allow dogs so she had to sit most of this adventure out. Thanks for watching!

Wonderful video. We skipped Joshua Tree in our December trip as it was just too much to fit it. Next time. I was wondering if you are adjusting your trip any to slow down and spend longer in places given the gas prices, or just budget that in and keep on keepin' on? If you don't want to respond to that, no biggie. I'm just interested on the impact of price fluctuation on folks who are entirely mobile.
We are keepin' on! It's not ideal and we will definitely be cutting back in other areas to make up for it, but we have things booked, plus some partnerships and other commitments that have to keep us moving. The areas we are in now are not ideal for free camping, so by staying longer we then have to pay a lot for campgrounds. There are so many factors to constantly consider!

This park definitely was a bit different for us since it was a lot of easier stops, but it was a nice change of pace!

To be honest, we felt the same going into it! But we had a lot more fun than we expected!
The big boulders were fun at barker dam but I was disappointed seeing it dried up when I saw photos of it being beautiful full of water

It stinks there wasn't any water there, that would have been cool to see in the middle of that landscape. But I love all the cool rock formations, and it really did look like a skull! Do you know if the holes in the rocks there were carved by water?
It was! It was from rain slowly eroding it and as it got bigger and bigger it eroded even more!
Hello Adventurers😄😄😄, Joshua Tree National Park looks AWESOME! There seems to be lots of huge rocks to play on and the trees look very interesting. How are the gas prices out there? Great video! Can't wait to see what's next👍👍👍👍👍.
Thanks Al! And they are pretty high haha, around $6.50 a gallon for diesel, but we're making it work! Still not worse than the prices at Death Valley though!
Was hoping to see you get down to the Cottonwood area of the park. Cottonwood campground is beautiful. February is too windy, though. After recent rains, the wildflowers should be gorgeous right now.
We camped near that area for a bit and it’s nice!
This was our first park we visited on the west coast. We had no water when we visited Barker so don't feel bad haha. Arch Rock is pretty cool, but definitely smaller than we were expecting. Check out Hall of Horrors next time you visit. Cholla is by far the coolest little stop in the park where the two deserts meet. It has a Big Bend meets Palm Desert vibe. Enjoy Death Valley, we were there in December and you will love the cooler weather. :)
Hall of Horrors looks like a cool spot! We loved Death Valley and are so glad we booked it there to enjoy it in cooler temps, it would be tough in the heat!
@@AdventuresofAplusK there were a few things we couldn’t do there due to flooding. Glad you enjoyed and will check for it when out. :) And I promise I’m not plugging it, but I find it funny because our trip in the park won’t be released until June. We milk our vacations 😂😂😂
Oh good, Death Valley! I am hoping you make it to all the National Parks headed North, but wasn’t sure if Death Valley would be out of your way. My daughter would love all the rocks at Joshua Tree.
We are skipping the Sierra Nevada region parks this time, but still have more national parks to share in CA 😃

While working your way north, you should stop at Alabama Hills. Looks similar to Joshua Tree but with the seirra mountains as the backdrop!
We skipped LA this time (we’d rather explore there without the van) and we had hoped to visit Alabama Hills, but we’re saving that for a future trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains!
I was there last weekend!! It was super cold with the big wind advisory that slammed California.
It seems like we can’t escape wind anywhere we go lately! 😅

Heart Rock is nearby the Arch Rock, just a short walk.
We wish we had time to see it, but we were rushing to get to the Cholla Cactus Garden to get the good lighting there!
I need to go back so I can hike. When I went it was over 100° if not over 110°. Not my choice. 🤷🏻♀️ Joshua Tree is still my favorite of the few national parks I have been to so far.
It would be so challenging in the heat!

Most national parks aren’t very dog friendly. Only a couple spots in Joshua Tree allow dogs so she had to sit most of this adventure out. Thanks for watching!

Omgoodness, go eat at Charlie Browns outside of Palmdale. Get tri-tip, shakes, fries, buffalo burgers everything is good...fudge too!

It's so sad to see the Barker Dam area with no water. We went in February 2019 and it was full to the rim.

Wonderful video. We skipped Joshua Tree in our December trip as it was just too much to fit it. Next time. I was wondering if you are adjusting your trip any to slow down and spend longer in places given the gas prices, or just budget that in and keep on keepin' on? If you don't want to respond to that, no biggie. I'm just interested on the impact of price fluctuation on folks who are entirely mobile.
We are keepin' on! It's not ideal and we will definitely be cutting back in other areas to make up for it, but we have things booked, plus some partnerships and other commitments that have to keep us moving. The areas we are in now are not ideal for free camping, so by staying longer we then have to pay a lot for campgrounds. There are so many factors to constantly consider!
