    I started watching you guys on RV unplugged. I heard you talking about your 51 parks in 51 weeks and so far. Have enjoyed it very much. Really enjoyed the Florida staff was never really a big fan of deserts but you’re turning me around and I’m starting to enjoy them also. Keep up the great work. Enjoy your videos a lot. Thanks from Wisconsin.

    There are actually three entrances to the Joshua Tree National Park. Cottonwood (south entrance), the (west entrance most popular and crowded) and the 29 Palms (east entrance) which typically doesn’t have a lot of traffic into the park.

    • @NewstateNomads
      @NewstateNomads  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Julia! Great point! Although the 29 palms visitor center has been closed, so there isn't anywhere for folks to get info if they come that route..but definitely great for less traffic!

    Highly recommend listening to Santana's Caravanserai while you are in the park. It really has such a sense of mysticism, and the music really adds to that. Had such a blast visiting, hope I can again one day in the future.

    Sooooo beautiful! Joshua Tree is only two hours or so from us. Gotta go visit again, not seen it in years. Howard, don’t feel bad, I can’t tell the difference between Yucca and Joshua trees. One thing, I know, is that Yucca’s bloom in the spring, with long branch tufts. We actually have them around on the hillsides in Los Angeles and here in Orange County mountains. You are having the BEST TIME! Keep it up and stay safe, Love Ya, Virginia

    Went to Joshua Tree over 10 years ago (I'm from the East). The highlight was the ranger interpretive Key's Ranch talk. Highly recommended. Key's View in the evening also a good choice.

    What a conundrum lol - all I know is they are both very unique succulents that store water. That stone man at 5:51 was so striking, and to me he looked like he was wearing a cone hat. Super cool NP and looks like a great place to visit and see first hand. The rocks are very beautiful as well. Did you have any difficulties finding a site large enough for your rv? Safe travels & hope the fur-girls are all doing well too.

    • @NewstateNomads
      @NewstateNomads  ปีที่แล้ว

      Conundrum is a good word for it 😂 The rocks really are amazing! They look so smooth. We didn't end up camping here during this trip. We did have reservations at Jumbo Rocks that would have fit our RV just fine, but we had a schedule change and had to change them. The pups say hi! Scout was sworn in as a 'Bark Ranger' this weekend. Can't wait to share that video in a few weeks! ❤ -Katelyn

    haha I've definitely carried spines into the truck and house by not checking my feet. The worst has been the goat heads I've accidently brought inside to then find later with my bare feet. Most people forget to carry pliers or a multitool with pliers to pull spines if you get them. It always shocks me how I can get cactus stuck to me and not even realize it till later, pulling them out is a different story though. Ouch

    • @NewstateNomads
      @NewstateNomads  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much, Sharon! So mainly, it's the park websites and the National Park Service App! The websites actually have a ton of information for each specific park and even their park map you can look over ahead of time. The National Park app has offline maps you can download and descriptions for trails too. We also use Roadtrippers & Wanderlog for planning as well! Hope that helps! Thank you so much for watching! -Katelyn

      Thanks Katelyn! We’ll check into the two apps you mentioned. Have you ever used the RVLife suite? We tried it but it seems too complicated for our current needs.
      BTW, we’re going to Kennebunkport in June and getting the best lobster roll ever on your recommendation! Can’t wait!

      Sharon, apologies I just started using the new filtering tool for replies to comments (before, we had no easy way to know that people continued the conversation in a comment thread!). We haven't used the RV life suite yet, but definitely familiar with the Roadpass/Campendium/Roadtrippers offering. Regardless of how you find travel info, using a tool like Wanderlog works great for us to collect it all and plan. 👍 -Howard
