    I'm doing a Japanese bathroom would this be ok as a feature wall behind the bath

      Most likely it is not a good idea to have timber in high moisture / water-prone areas. This includes charred timber. Using it internally would be great for other areas of the house. Even the kitchen, thought design considerations have to be made.

      You can! But we do not advise. This will change the appearance of the charred timber. One or many that we are unfamiliar.
