    Wanted to thank you all for this video. I got back into the hobby after 15 years and the industry has changed 10 fold. Brushed motorswere the go to back then and you needed armatures and a lathe. Now brushed motors are pretty much non-existent in the hobby. This video helped me understand the ins and outs of brushless motors and what tools can help me be effective at getting the more efficiencies out of them.

    Tyler P, you nailed it man! No worries. Easily understood. Great show, you guys had me laughing.

    Gearing and timing is also important to kindof match… like, you could lower gearing, and get some bottom end gains, by gear, then timing up, and reduce torque, to somewhere back to the “same” amount, and end up having higher rpm, enough to actually have more top end.

    Cool I use to set up brushed motor back in the day with brushes and springs and cutting the com. I finally figured out brushless motors from tuning and analyzing it and playing with gears and heat temp

    got told down at the track im running my engine to hot HW 6.5T with 24 degrees of boost and 24 of turbo.
    car went like a rocket down the straight 🚀🤣

    Hi, great thanks for the helpful video. I have 2 further questions. What is best method to clean my brushless motor as I feel it must been important from running on filthy outdoor race track (on road and offroad dirt). I have 1 motor on my analyser which has a 37 b 42 c42should I replace sensor board immediately if didn't as still runs well what would happen. Many thanks

    Great video as always!
    Want a tech tip, non RC related?? Invest in some shock mounts for your microphones it'll get rid of that annoying sound of the mic picking up
    the vibration every time you hit, or set something down on the table.

    🎉if I choose non blinky 17.5 class or mod class and want to add lots of Boost and turbo what's the rule of thumb for setting up initial mechnnal timing please

    obviously if the gearing is too high the motor heats up, but if it is under geared will it overheat too ?

    • @lawton70
      @lawton70 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found if the motor is overgeared the motor and esc will heat up. If the motor is undergeared just the motor will heat up.

    I have 2 certified xfactors pretty sure they are fixed timing is it worth upgrading the rotor or is it not worth it

    • @RCMadnessHobby
      @RCMadnessHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xfactors all have adjustable timing. It’s just a bit different to adjust. They come with a good rotor

    Great video. I have a question. if you have a motor that has adjustable timing on it do you have to use the sensor for it to work?

    After having tuner your motor to the best timing, do you still Player around with the timing settings of the ESC?

  • @lawton70
    @lawton70 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rc madness, does 45 degrees in the esc with 0 in the motor dyno the same as 0 in the esc and 45 in the motor?

    Well guys good show lot of great info on how not to burn up your motor. But the fastest most expensive motor doesn’t put a bad driver in first dose it ?

  • @craigjones2015
    @craigjones2015 ปีที่แล้ว

    6amps is the max anything over that and the motor falls off from what Iv seen and experienced. I tune for 5 then gear from 5.5

  • @dirtrider88

    so basically turbo timing in the ESC is vtech yo!

    Video would have been great with fewer interuptions. Every time hes trying to explain hes interupted with lame jokes or questions that may have been answered without the interuption.

    The stock class is actually modified and "the modified class" is really the stock car, you just have to learn how to drive it.
