- Learn How To Mix Harmonious Colors for Mixed Media
Have you wondered how to improve your color mixing? Or do you get hung up with color mixing? I know all about this because I’m self-taught and learning how to mix my paint colors has been a challenge. I used to look at other artist’s work and think ‘how do they get that amazing color?’ never realizing that color doesn’t stand alone. Choosing color combinations and learning what colors interact in certain ways is the secret to creating work where the color speaks LOUDLY. I’m still learning, and hopefully, always will! Here’s my best method for learning more about color. I hope you enjoy it and find it super helpful, my friend.

These exercises… which I did many years ago in college… well.. I did so much different work… and I forgot a lot! This is a wonderful reminder how much practice is useful to remind me why I like certain colors. You are such an excellent teacher!!! I appreciate it!!

Cool yeah I understand how and what your doing. I do the same thing but on a smaller scale when I'm figuring out the pallet I want to paint a picture with. I'll pick out 3 or 4 colors and work with that on a painting. The color wheel really helps. When I first started watercolor I was like why get a color wheel well now I know why. Lololol 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣.
