I'm looking forward the next series on understanding the modes,I've gotten down the names, how to play them, but now I need to know what to do with them, thnx Daric I wished TH-cam was around 30yrs ago then I'd be a much better and more confident player
Thanks for simplifying the modes man. Until these 2 lessons they were so confusing. Now I have some use for them since I understand them a little better. U can create almost a mood or a theme I guess with the modes. It's pretty fun.
Hey Daric, great channel! To the point, smooth, and informative... I've been playing guitar for 20+ years and never learned the scales/modes. Now I've started learning bass to teach a friend and I'm finding it fresh and easier to pick up and memorize on a new instrument. Thanks for the help, I'm having a lot of fun!
Thank you a 1000 times for these videos! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out just what the heck all this Greek mythology was. So well done! Again thank you for your generosity in taking your time to make this amazing instructional. These videos are the only ones out of countless others that made that click in my head.
Amazing lesson. Best Mode series online. Daric is there a typo on locrian. Note: You mention while talking the fifth is flat in the b minor scale but not the seventh when transforming a b minor scale into the B locrian mode in the Key of C. I ask because I wrote it out. B Major B C# D# E F# G# A# B Minor B C# D E F# G A B B Locrian (Key of C/No accidentals) B Cnatural D E Fnatural G A .... meaning if transformed from the B minor scaled it would be b2 b5, (not b2, b7 as the text on screen states) correct?
While watching this video I figured out that the Simpsons theme isn't a mushroom trip by Elfman, it's just Lydian mode. Already knew the modes but having you walk through them still produced new learning. Thanks Daric.
Hey @Daric Benett, great stuff man, can you please do a tutorial on the fast licks you do like the one in the Christmas video with the keyboard guy. Thanks in Advance.
As soon as he said aoelian I was like "am I watching Men in Black?" XD. Love the guys voice, love the video and love the fact I now know how modes work!
I'm new at bass and have been trying for an hour and can t get that " mystery" you played at the end with the Lorian mode. Was that F#? So in context you played G-F#-F-E. I am I close?
Absolutely in this case. But keep in mind depending on what key you’re in, the Aeolian scale can start on any note or any scale in that matter. But because I’m in the key of a major in this particular lesson the aeolian scale will start on any “A” on the fretboard
That made me wonder, the fact that the modes sort of align with the scale, I ii iii IV V vi and vii is deminished (however you write that lol), is that how the scales got to be like they are?
Daric, you're discussing the Locrian mode stating the 2rd note is flat and the 5th note is flat, but your screen is showing the 2nd b and 7th b.. Is this my error or is the illustration incorrect.. Thanks W Charles
+W. Charles Wingate oh! I see what you mean! Sorry about that, that was a typo. In the locrian scale there's a b2, b5, and also a b7. Thats in comparison to the major scale Thanks for pointing that out.
Daric, if the modes are based on the C major scale, can you play these modes using let's say A.. Can you play all the modes using A, or is this not correct theory... Tks W. Charles
Dude I think you can you just have to copy the intervals of each mode.. so if you started the e mode with an a you'd hit b flat which works represent the f .. does that make sense..
Why are you showing a 7b on the screen and stating 5b.. It appears to be a 2b and 5b.. Just a minor error... Or did I miss something...Sorry for the typo on the first comment.. Tks
Just gonna say " i love you sir" i really wish i could talk to you . You have a great heart . Thanks being so generous and so groovy.
At last someone has broken down this maze of scales and their names, thanks, loving your work so much information.
I'm looking forward the next series on understanding the modes,I've gotten down the names, how to play them, but now I need to know what to do with them, thnx Daric I wished TH-cam was around 30yrs ago then I'd be a much better and more confident player
Thanks Daric! At last a teacher that's too the point, fun & easy to understand. Keep up the good work.
+Graham Lewis Thanks Graham! 🤘🏾

Really good delivery thanks for uploading
Just love how you broke down modes. perfect
Daric, I watched your Locrian mode vid and it answered my question... Tks
Awesome, was just about to reply! 👍🏾
Amazing lesson. Best Mode series online.

B Minor

B Locrian (Key of C/No accidentals)
B Cnatural D E Fnatural G A
.... meaning if transformed from the B minor scaled it would be b2 b5, (not b2, b7 as the text on screen states) correct?
thank you for sharing a lot of groove lessons to us
I must say, I really enjoy your lessons... Again Thanks W. Charles
JAMAICAN HERE ....WAA GWAAN... GREAT LESSON SIR. B
Thanks so much. You make it easier to remember with your direct teaching style.
While watching this video I figured out that the Simpsons theme isn't a mushroom trip by Elfman, it's just Lydian mode. Already knew the modes but having you walk through them still produced new learning. Thanks Daric.
Great lesson. Very well explained. Subscribed 👍
Your a very good teacher. Thank you.

Fantastic
Can you make a video where you speak about the MODES OF A C MELODIC MINOR SCALE? thanks Daric!
Thank u. Simple as that. I'll stay tuned
Hey @Daric Benett, great stuff man, can you please do a tutorial on the fast licks you do like the one in the Christmas video with the keyboard guy. Thanks in Advance.
Thanks dude ur video is very helpful

Michael K ..that " mystery" note was G# which is a Major 6th interval above B. (G is a minor 6th aka b6th/b13)
There are no sharps or flats in the C Major scale. The sharp an flat notes he's talking about in relation to the C Major.
Thanks for these great lessons. My question is, could you also do the Aolian from the A on the E string?
Absolutely in this case. But keep in mind depending on what key you’re in, the Aeolian scale can start on any note or any scale in that matter. But because I’m in the key of a major in this particular lesson the aeolian scale will start on any “A” on the fretboard
How would one use the scales in a song... and how do i know which scales to use??
That made me wonder, the fact that the modes sort of align with the scale, I ii iii IV V vi and vii is deminished (however you write that lol), is that how the scales got to be like they are?
11:37 a true teacher

Thanks Daric, I appreciate your time... So, there's a b6 in the scale also.. Thanks W Charles
Awesome
Daric doesn't every mode share all the same notes of that root scale or is only that relative minor scale?
I think your actually helping me get it lol.
god bless you!
Is these the last lesson for this?
GR8888888 DARIC
Why are you showing a 7b on the and stating 5b.. It appears to be a 2b and 5b.. Just a minor error... Or did I miss something...Tks

Where does video 3 come out?
I Don't Play Like My Aunt Lydia: my way of remembering modes.
Good one. Ill remember that. Thanks.
Wow...smart guy
would you tell me what the fingering was for the mixolydian mode?
+jazz 2-4 | 1-2-4 | 1-2-4
thank you very much.
Why are you showing a 7b on the screen and stating 5b.. It appears to be a 2b and 5b.. Just a minor error... Or did I miss something...Sorry for the typo on the first comment.. Tks
+W. Charles Wingate on which scale are you referring to
daric. The 7th mode is b5 or b7?
its a b5. I think that is a typo
🙏🔥🔥
skip to @0:40
Right I hated that plateau
All what you doing is talking !;;;
