I think, people deserve this downgrade because they accepted the ROTR version. The ROTR version was so bad you could rename the ROTR as "Temple Run with Vicky" and you wouldn't have figured out it was a Tomb Raider game.
I started with the 2013 trilogy and went ahead and played the Remastered 1-3 version. I prefer the old Lara by a mile. Shame that the people running this IP hate the old stuff.

Well, at least I'm lucky enoug to say I'm yet to beat the OGs games, so they're still kind of a new experience ready for me to enjoy. I finished the OG TR 1 a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised of how entertaining and satisfying it was to play. It actually plays and controls pretty well for a game that old, and at least it's not as clunky as Mario 64. Good times, good times.
The Shadow of the Tomb Raider Lara and game was terrible, and now we can see where they r going. The Netflix Lara at least looks pretty n has a feminine figure. Even though everyone's supposed to hate white ppl now so she cant be that, so that's not continuity. This unified Lara that they have previewed is horrendous. Lol! The game is supposed to be a fun fantasy in ancient locations, which I love archeology. Making her ugly and manly and woke and annoyingly without self-assurance tells me that unless it's remasters, I'm not buying it. I wouldn't care if she was a lesbian if it was in her character to even want a relationship. But she is a feminist character already who doesn't have time for that or care about that even. Also, I'm a female. So they can't say I'm male gazing over here.
I like the Survivor trilogy Lara Croft. I didn't think she was always angry. I didn't get into the old Lara much. Was never into her cocky persona. I don't know what to think of the anime, tho.

Lara not Laura Croft. it was repeated so many times that if this was a drinking game, someone would die from alcohol poisoning.
For the new Lara Croft Tomb Raider I only loved the 2013 release, any other new releases of Lara Croft was bad to me.
