Indeed, the blueprints are hard to come by at the beginning of the game for no good reason, meanwhile later you can earn more than enough blueprints to unlock the VIIC/41, and you have enough unlocked later still to get the future Type IX and all its variants. I'm currently in 1944 and all the campaigns are completed.
Not quite all, there were still a few type IIB boats sailing war patrols in the 30th U-boat flotilla in the black sea. The last of them were scuttled in september 1944
At 15:06 you did not wait for the alignment of the gyro with tdc data. It left the tube with partially false data from the previous salvo. That's why it went so far off the target. Next time wait for the light on the tdc to go on before pulling the lever.
I can't get enough of Uboat. Loving the Sea Power uploads also. Keep it up Wolfpack. I believe the torpedo missed because you moved was moving Starboard as you launched. Only thing I can see that caused it.
I really like how you start those episodes, it makes it seem like watching a history documentary but more fun and intresting. Also the game is fun to watch.
General FYI for anyone else using the Ship Bundle Beta mod, Freighter's 04-07 do not have currently have unique silhouettes and have a generic Liberty one. The ship at 11:48 is a 05, for example.
I have been waiting for this. I cannot wait to see you do once you finally get a new U-boat. You already can do so much with just this U-Boat and its 5 torpedoes. Once you have a ship that can carry more, you can really go on a rampage.
Been loving the Uboat and Wolfpact series you have and because of your videos I got back into play Uboat and actually getting past the first month in game
This made me laugh imagining a guy walking past his buddy’s hot rack, stops, and the guy says “A girl just got on the boat! Hop in and maintain my G7E.”And away they go.
Its odd that these simulations spend so much time with historical accuracy, but always seem to mess up how ships sink. They don't go down in 30 seconds unless a magazine blows up. At the very least make realistic sinking times an option.
On VIIC/41, the screen starts to appear ~295-310m, it's crush depth territory for it. Although you can be sinking down to 400m before game over depending on how flooded/damaged and fast the boat is sinking (which means incredibly fast at this point, you are the ballast). It's only a matter of perhaps 20 seconds until the hull implodes past 300m.
Hey Wolfpack I found that I had this same torpedo targeting issue when I played Uboat a few days ago. Might be a glitch in the game not sure but hopefully it gets fixed. Love the vid!
Can you control other nearby U-boats? I am fairly new to the game. Your video showed interesting scenes of U-boat action at night, with ships on fire, and so on.
It's broken. If you call other uboats to attack the convoy and give them a waypoint, they do shenanigans like either being stuck on the surface until you press the "Escape" button and resume the attack order and they suddenly drop down deep, or they struggle to shoot, overriding the attack order. That and the fact that other uboats are not quiet at all, so they easily attract the attention of warships and trigger alarms in the convoys.
Pretty sure you poached that other U-boats kill there Wolf!! But...as they say, you snooze, you lose!! LOL I know that your little type II is pretty limited as far as speed and weapons load out... but more and more I'm kinda hoping that you try to take it all the way to the end of the war... But I'm gonna be watching either way! 👍✌️😎
I just wonder, are there any tips from you regarding visibility in the night? I am always scared that i am going to be detected getting too close. Eother way diving is the last resort because its more dangerous for uboat to stay down while there are a lot of escorts. I play with visibility advice on but i never know when its too close or too far.
Why dont you do a surprise attack on the warship first and take it out and then the second warship as it will come towards you, then take out all the cargo ships one by one with the deckgun and torpedos and call it a day?
i would of took out the corvette when they were going after the other u boat. it would get them confused and plus you lessen the enemy war fleet by one
@@Jedi_Jeff Its kind of considered the bad kid of the SH franchise. Quite poorly made, very buggy and quite unrealistic which is a bummer considering its whole first person concept is awesome. I'd say get SH3 and SH4 and you'll be plenty happy once they're both modded.

Around 10:35 you said you were resetting the tdc to 30kts for thr T2s, but it looks like you instead set it to 44kts. Tube 3 you told the tdc it was 1km away when it was 2. I don't know, though.
@@bmw_m4255 limit time compression but when going out your wolf pack stays together till you get close to a convoy you and slit up and time compression then gets limited.
not to hit the nail on it..but the Germans used the "Wolfpack" Style were ex amount of Uboats would be under a Command Sub at sea & if possible reach an attack point & like carnivore animals.."feast on the Convoys in their Path" so not so suprisingly that this game has more than PC Sub attacking other ships.
Red light "improves crews vision in dark areas" not sure that it actually does anything. Blue light makes the crew be as quiet as possible (especially when used with silent running)
Bots. They act independently but can be ordered around if detected by the player’s Uboat. I had a lot of success using a bot Uboat to sink escort warships. It seemed to have unlimited torpedoes and excellent close range aim. Quite cheesy.
I always wonder how violent the seas can get in UBOAT. The worst I ever see it is like it is at the beginning of the video once out of port. Does it get worse?
It definitely can but it's a bit less impressive than SH3 in my opinion in terms of how really bad it should feel because the wind doesn't have sound effects. If you are in an area with something like 24 knots of wind, a storm, it will definitely send your uboat bow and stern flying between the waves on top of submerging the coning tower completely.
The type ii was a waste of development time. It's just a drag playing in that. Before I get comments you can upgrade quickly, I did 10 patrols now and didn't manage to find or catch up with a SINGLE ship in my patrol area. So, no blueprints for me. I've been playing uboat since the beginning and I've played silent hunter for decades now.
Tactically, why didn't you attack that corvette closest to you, in order to free a more free attack on the rest of the convoy? I've never played this particular sub game, but I'm still wondering.
Attacking warships is a big gamble. They move around unpredictably on their patrol paths and start and stop randomly. So usually, and historically, these ww2 subs don’t shoot at warships
I was curious and asked youtubes ai why your torpedos veered off course. Thinking that would produce a silly ai answer. It said you selected the angle on bow to 70 degrees to starboard instead of port and even gave me a timestamp (19:34). I shall now see for myself
Reminds me of how Battleship New Jersey described the firing solution computers as 'precise, not exactly accurate.' because it'll put shots where you tell it to, but if your info is off, it won't be accurate.
It seems the AI needs some more training with the german tdc. The problem is at 15:06 right when he pulled the lever. He did not wait for the alignment of the gyro. Before launching the torpedo he should have waited for the light on the tdc. He did not. That means this torpedo had false data from when he launched the salvo with two torps previously.
That was not Freight 03@11:46. You see the bridge is separated from the rest of the superstructure? The BdU either hates you, or the game's algorithm is getting dumb. Sending type II U-boat in the March of 1941 is insane and makes no sense. Type II is a costal boat.
The last upgrade of the Type II had the range to strike targets out at sea. Why not use them when they're perfectly fine to hunt down ships in the open ocean with after a range upgrade just because they were originally meant for coastal operations?
For me this is the only thing that ruins this game.. other boats... set yourself up for a perfect attack and another uboat ruins it. I just think sh3 with a major mod is a better experience
Eventually by the end of 1941 you should be getting a Type VII...all Type II U-Boats were either training ships or sunk by then.
Definitely needs to uograde

Really enjoying these episodes from again a historical perspective. It seems like it's pretty accurate to the way it was in the horrific Atlantic War.
I wonder if the AI turns up its wariness during an attack. You’d think they’d be on the lookout for additional boats.

Could the torpedo that flew off bearing to the right be, because you had a spread angle set on the left box of the tdc from the previous salvo?

Is this under realistic night settings? I feel like if I went flank speed close enough to see warships like he did, they would see me.
I have brighter nights enabled to make it easier to see in a youtube video. This option does not change AI behavior
@@Wolfpack345 There is also an additional keybind to change the brightness in game but it's not as good of a result, it's very washed out.
