22:35 this is specific to the Bombardier Bi-Level cars, they aren't allowed to lead any trains because of a Metrolink derailment many years back that pretty much mandated crash energy management structures on every brand new cab car built or sold in NA (as fair as I'm aware). This is pretty much why we have the Rotem Bilevels, and why only they are allowed on the ends of trains.
Only 5 F59PH remain, with all F59PHI out of service. Important to note the the 5 F59PHs are used as reserve fleet therefore not in regular service so not really much point
Crazy idea, DTG make TSW truly the actual world. Kinda like ETS2 or ATS (truck sims) and the players purchase the areas they want to operate on. It's the old Microsoft idea of the next generation of train sim with a "world of rails."
You can't drive the cab cars in the Bombardier Railcars, but you can in the Rotem Cars, IRL the Bombardier coaches have their cabs sealed off because they are phasing them out of service but they aren't gone yet
+1 on the Surfline, now with the route hopping mechanic they can easily split the track from LA Union to Oceanside, and Oceanside to San Diego Santa Fe. If only DTG would spend a little more on licensing with the US Railroads ( people are always going to say the US class 1’s don’t want to license but the real truth is money is how to corporates talk in the states, no royalty for the companies, no license for Dovetail).
@@markwilliams8492 Praying on it! I’m starting to live on the hope of “maybe next year” for TSW, but hopefully we all get what we want sooner or later.
Need more NEC. That's their best selling routes in the US. This game would be perfect if routes like Washington-Baltimore were in it. Even with unmarked MARC trains. Or New York-New Haven. They have the license to the CT rail M8s and would be one of the best routes imo for Tsw5.
@@brandenloman6925 it is over 400 miles and dtg don't hold all the licenses. That would take several years and they don't have several years. They can only release in short sections but without the licenses, it'll be very quiet
If you get the starter pack within the window to get it free then essentially it's like a version update. The issue is if you miss the window and you have to pay extra.
i still hate that we cant use the bom cab cars feels annoying that they removed it for the sake of making the timetable modern but there was a period of time where both cars ran.
Unpopular opinion here, I don't hate the new releases of very similar games, as it gives me the opportunity to pick up 3 or 4 routes for the price of 1 or 2 usually, if a new dlc route is added for TWS4 its gonna cost like £30, maybe more, and with the new release can pick up 3 different routes for £40 But tbf I think this more so highlights a problem with the prices of the routes
@Trainmaster-nw1en I'm sorry but american steam coming to TSW? You really think that will ever happen? Maybe in TSW10 lol. These devs don't care for american players and it's clear. Most of the horns on american locomotives are terrible I'd be surprised if they even get the right tender for our steam locomotives lol.
@@mrsalmon16 I don’t disagree with you dovetails are very biased anything that doesn’t really concern the UK. From my understanding its well capable of doing more but the thing was if they kept it under 80 it didn't require safety systems besides an alerter but when PTC was forced by the FRA The whole point if the 79mph was basically thrown out. With some track upgrades i feel like some sections could easily be 90-100mph
Max speed is gonna be 79 mph same as Antilope Valley line. Only route in California that goes 90 is the south portion from LA to San Diego. More than likely gonna be another year until we get that if they ever do it.
@@markwilliams8492 it would be goleta tho most north bound trains only stop at goleta anyway and its also a turn around and inspection and servicing point tho the speeds are a lot slower.
Wdym? If you think like that then yeah theres never a “purpose”. Irl an engineer takes the train from point a to point b. Passenger trains pick up and drop off passengers but it’s not much different. The “purpose” is to get the goods/people where they need to go. After you’re done irl you go to “sleep”. In the game you can just stop playing it, or do another service. I think what you’re looking for is a dynamic system where trains interconnect with each other, one train drops off cars, another picks them up. Load coal cars and take them to a power plant etc. While this game does have that, it wouldn’t be my first choice to be “real life railroad simulation”. This is a “train simulation”, not a “railroad simulation”.
Ok but where is the metro North railroad V2 missing the M2 and m4 and m8 and are there going to be blue line Boston Massachusetts route and Marta Atlanta GA route and Canadian TTC when is it coming I will like to get it and I will be playing the shit out of it somebody tell me?
Correction: God mode is a good tool for fast travel NOT route hopping. I got that mixed up! Lol

20:40 Because they don't use cab signals. That limits them to 79mph
What about the weird speed limits in Los Angeles? I think it’s 125mph. Very strange
They should've had the f59PH and f59PHI in the game because i think they still use a few of them, but idk
I agree. They do need to add those locomotives.

The article was a bit confusing, but about the cab car part: they don’t run bombardier cab cars so they run the rotem cab cars instead, I think.
Hoping they at some point add west palm beach. Would be nice to see either that or the surfliner route.
