    I have seen other vids and he looks like he did much more work than he had to. Thanks for the vid anyway. that is one long way of doing it. I dont have a lift and some vids show a couple guys doing on stands but it is still much more time than I want to spend fiddling with it for the first and probably only time. Unless I screw up that is.

    Egnine hoist and 2 jacks with jack stands, took forever. If you got 2011 or upgraded accords, the engine mounts are different in rear.

    Does a bad rack and pinion cause vibrations when under load or accelerating

    • @anarasii
      @anarasii  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No , Axles ( CV joint) do . Only under acceleration.

    • @OniVideo24
      @OniVideo24 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Im having that issue too. Vibration when accelerating. I changed cv axles, flushed transmission fluid, 2 new transmission mounts, 2 new subframe mounts, tires rotation, and alignment, and still the same thing. Im now noticing a little leak on inner tie rod, and im thinking that its causing the vibration. I dont know what to do. Did you fixed it in your car?

    • @RandomPhill
      @RandomPhill หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's going to be your wheel bearing more than likely. Inner ball joints wear out prematurely due to leaking rack and pinion inside tierod boot. Will cause pop, creaking, and clunking sound that you can't mimic unless you can move just that joint.

  • @myronjohnson6372
    @myronjohnson6372 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can remove it easily without dropping the entire subframe.

      My mechanic quoted me $1398. If I had access to tools and a lift, I think I'd try to do it myself, too! I definitely would want someone with more experience than me overseeing me, though, to be sure I was doing it right since I've never done it before.

    • @tonydization

      @@MrSupernova111 No mate, a new steering rack in the UK is £1800 for an OEM rack or about $2500. Plus labour on top of that and the repair will cost more than the worth of the car. Anyhow I've had my second hand rack in for a couple of years now and it cost $150 so the decision was the right one at the time. Hey if I could've had it repaired at the prices you mentioned I would've done it.
