I love this car, had it for a year now. If you want all the bells and whistles then pay for the extras. The terrain your driving in would be more suitable for Allroad.
The review lacks coherence. Audi built this version with a stiff suspension for people who like to ride the A6 low. If you like to ride high from the ground and comfortable, Audi offers exactly those options be it the customers opt for those settings. The conclusion, which lacks from the review and which makes the video incoherent, is that Audi actually builds said solutions to their customers which is far harder to do than to sit and post videos without technical foundation.
Audi probablly use these engine designations like 45, 55, etc. to make car power comparable to e-tron which has no internal combustion engine with the displacement. For example "Audi Q8 e-tron 55 quattro" - so 3.0TDI engine in "Audi A6 55TDI quattro" should be equal in output power. BMW 530d and 535d also are the same 3 liter diesel with different output power, and 518d is 2.0 liter diesel a bit less powered than 520d. So in this case we can say - this it Audi A645TDI or this is Audi A655TDI. And what actually tells "3.0TDI" if it can be with 204, 245, 272, 313 and 320 horse powers?? (sorry if I have mistaken with all these hp variations)
Good review, a bit incoherent sometimes but good all in all. So my question to anyone who currently owns a 2020-21 A6 Avant TDi (any variant), is it reliable? What are the service costs? I`ve been gradually narrowing down our next car since I rented a VW Passat 2.0 Tdi Estate and sat in a 2021 BMW 520d Estate (lackluster materials and feel imho, was expecting more from a BMW 5). I know that the VW has a great engine but also Audi has been refining for awhile + their quattro system is awesome. I would buy it as a family car (2 kids) current car is also a Ford estate car, but it`s showing it`s age and my repairs cost more in the last 5 years than the purchase price of the car itself when I bought it years ago. Would love to hear from anyone with hands on experience and insight. Cheers
Kris, you gotta know what your driving. A sport suspension S-line is supposed to be glued to the ground, that's why you enjoyed it so much on the highway like you explained. Its' obviously not gonna be comfortable on worn city tarmac. The S-line also adds a more sporty look as the wheels have way less rubber than any other setup and as we all now that decreases the comfort. You could spec this car with a comfort setup but your driving the least comfortable ride in the whole A6 series. Don't criticize the car for acting as constructed. And btw, air suspensions that you are suggesting in your comments doesn't work well in cold temperatures.
ventende I know what S-Line and sports suspension is brah... I’ve owned several Audi’s and I have a 2018 A4 brah brah. I also have 22s on my XC90, and was a sales manager for 4 years in a company that sild wheels and tires. So I have a heile bunch if knowledge on the subject. And further more air suspension works perfectly fine in cold climates, why the hell shouldn’t it? I’ve had two XC90s with it. Lastly, a car doesn’t have to be uncomfortable to be stable on the highway. Eg. all Mclarens and German cars. And lastly, the A6 is a luxury wagon, not a sports car. It has to be comfortable before anything else. And the sport suspension ruins the car, period.
@@KrisRifa Well, the A6 Avant isn't classified as a luxury wagon, at least not in the country you were testing it. It's more like a utility vehicle with lots of backspace room when the seats are laid down. Typical Avant advantages. They actually were used as pickup cars when the Norwegian government gave great tax reduction if you bought it without back seats. They stopped doing that some years back cause too many people were buying it rigged with no back seats. The car wasn't a luxury car at all but a very common vehicle in the mid range class. Still is. The A6 platform is also utilized in the sports car segment with the S6, R6 and RS6. The A8 and Q8 are the luxury wagon segment in the Audi fleet. I live in a cold climate country with minus 25-30 degrees in winter, you don't see any air suspension setups here as they have a tendency to malfunction in low temperatures. Just sayin. Thanks for sharing your trip with your model of the Audi anyhow.
Kris Rifa maybe the sports suspension ruins this individual type of configuration that u drove. But that doesnt mean at all that people shouldnt buy an a6 in generell. So I truly cant understand why u wrote that into the video title - thats unfair for audi and its also kind of clickbait. Without that - great video man :(
I had A6 Avant C7 (previous mode) that I drop to local dealer back after 3 years of using. Then I have tried this new model and honestly my experience was not good. I don’t know why I can’t describe it but I didn’t like this model. That’s why I have bought XC90 and I am happy. Best regards from Poland!!
Kris Rifa agree, it is not bad car. But for me, when first time I had opportunity to try this car I knew I will not buy it. I love my previous A6 C7 and I had big hope to change to C8 as an upgrade. But it didn’t work with me. I don’t feel new generation of Audi outputs.
carbonito46 i bought it new at the beginning of 2018 and i had 1 problem after another. Buttons on the steering wheel stopt working twice, intercooler hose and turbo hose broke several times, heated back seets work half the time, music system works half the time, last month my door got stuck out of the blue and needed replacement, the motor is highly underpowered and noisy , fuel consumption is out off the roof etc , cant find 1 possitive thing about the car in my experience
Touch screens make the car interior always dirty and not safety without joystick wheel close from the hand. Add the lack of beautiful speedometer : now the inside si flavourless. No longer make you dreaming when looking through the window. Better without pilote cockpit which I don’t use in the end, as the head up display I usually disable (was fun few first years / cars but finally borring)
"It's not as nice as the Q8" no shit sherlock, it costs a huge amount more and competes in a completely different class! your expectations are a bit high aren't they.
Depending on what market you live in the price difference between an A6 and Q8 spec for spec car be as little as a few thounsand USD. Fruthermore they are both closely related being both built on the MLBevo platform. So no, my expectaitons are not to high because the compete in the same price bracket and Q8 is simply at better car imo :)

Sry thats not the S Line exterior. Its just a configuration with a sports engine which does make the car look more sporty but not like an a6 S line which is an xtra configuration on the exterior... WTF is "sports" engine genius ? The s line refers here to the lower suspension which if you actually ever owned an Audi you would know it is shit, The standard may not look so cool ie the car sits higher but it is light years better. Stick to your Hyundai pls.
I dont like your video not at all your opinion about this car. I found only one video which has a negative opinion about the new Audi A 6 . IT WAS YOURS! Sorry, I dont believe you.
personally i would rather have physical buttons to control climate, radio, etc., i like virtual cockpit, the second display asi in bmw would be fine but that third... there are too many of them, also who thought it is a good ide put sport suspension in DIESEL a6, not even the most powerful diesel engine, wth, that is not rs6 :D why is thatoption and not having a chance to choose whether you want all of those displays
I tried the e-tron with air suspension and could for the first time in my life get across speed bumps with comfort :-P For some reason my A4's sport suspension is less aggressive.

Air suspension and insulated windows are a must !
It’s a different 4 drive to a suv or jeep, it’s a performance 4 drive not off road ! If your looking for something to drive in the snow you buy a Q7 !
