I started my first batch this weekend. They are fermenting as a type. Hope my results are a good as yours. I am shooting for three gallon batch. If this process goes smooth I have another batch ready to go next. Have a great one. By the way you did a great video. Very instructional with good humor, really enjoyed.
yea man - Im about to bottle my second batch ( 2nd year ). I got less muscadines this year off my vines . I think it was from how I trimmed them in the off season ( as suggested ). anyways this batch is looking proper as well. pretty simple process really. this year I have exactly 5 gallons of wine . ( that's about 8 gallons of raw Berrys starting out). try it!
i thought i had deer problems or raccoons. trapped the coons and fenced in my vines. still no fruit. ison said i wasovercroppinfg. i watched your videos and isons and realized my pruning and fertilizing was really bad. next year i will do a lot better. thanks for your help.😮
Great job first of all! I do miss making muscadine wine! Some tips that might help for the next batch. 1. Freeze your muscadines. For better sugar yield and easier ferment! 2. Use a brew bag for the whole process. That will drastically help with the pulp in the must. And way easier clean up! 3. If needed I would be happy to help with any questions! Again great job and I’m a bit envious muscadine wine is excellent for cooking as well!
Right on thanks.l for the tips. Next year I’m gonna use all of my muscadines ( about 25-30 gallons raw grapes) and go for it big time. I’ll try and learn all year to do it even better. It did come out good- sipping some now! So glad it wasn’t a waste of time. It’s really dang good- and I had no idea what I was doing.
