Fussed at me for not “washing “ my stuff with commercial cleaner, had me buy a testing jar and a hydrometer and Ph test strips. I told her that the video I watched didn’t involve all of this! And she said well you’re taking a chance that your wine is going to explode when it goes into bottles and all this other stuff. I finally told her listen, I’m not wanting to spend a whole lot more money than what I’ve already spent. I’m not looking to make commercial wine, everybody makes wine differently and bought my $30 worth of stuff and walked out lol so I’m praying this wine comes out delicious following your recipe!! The honey turned out ok but the aguave and cane sugar were the best.

With all the wild fruit trees available here for picking we’ve had great fun at it. As long as you have a cap to keep breaking up and the fermenting is happening don't worry. Probably a small leak somewhere in the lid. I have 1 bucket that I have the same problem with but it still works

I really enjoyed the video. Great job. I do have a few questions. First, after removing the sediment, what did you clean the carboy with? Second, the syphon tube and the bottles, how did you sterilize them? Lastly, if you were going to gift someone with a bottle, how long after bottling would you wait?
1st we drink right away its good. 2nd I just rinse out a few times really well. They do make cleaning tools for the carboys. Yoi can find them on Amazon. 3rd. Great videos. I am going to start a small muscadine vineyard in south Carolina. How do you decide which kind of muscadines to grow. So many different ones.
Isons nursery has an online catalog and you can check out all the different varieties and they tell what they are good for as such as eating and wines jellies and such. Tip, make sure you have some self fertle plants to cross pollinate the others
Have got one more question for you if you don't mind my trellis is going to be about 200 ft long do you think that's too far to run one wire with two posts should I add a couple more posts and split it up thanks so much for your help
Good Morning Shane. Thanks for reply. I live out close to Villa Rica NW part of State. Will be trying Your recipe to the T ,only difference will be using Sccuppernongs, seeing how My Supreme & Ison Vine did not do Well & found a trick that works well to keep the Deer away from My Scuppernongs. Want to touch on why I use a Perservative Potassium Sorbate @ a very small amount 1/4 tsp. at bottling .I take a qt of same fruit & run it through a countertop Juicer+ the Sugar Syrup like You & add @ bottling, because was not getting that exceptional Muscadine taste that both of us go crazy about HaHaHa! . Seeing the way You make Your Wine I can see how You get more Flavor. I add the Perservative to keep from refermentation, does not seem to effect taste of Wine. Cheers! Kay
Good Morning Shane, Awesome hope Your able to post New Wine recipe soon. I was wanting to know If You ever tried Ison Nurseries recipe for wine making? I think His Name is Greg If He still work there? Probably has it. Really different using Irish potatoes & steel cut Oatmeal..Kay

After fermentation you need to be careful exposing must to oxygen. While transferring to the 3 gallon carboy you want to make sure you’re not splashing it to introduce oxygen. Keep end of hose under the surface of the liquid. And also eliminate the headspace in the carboy. Should only be about an inch headspace at the top.
Awesome video! Truly. Really love your approach, not just to brewing, but explaining or relaying information. I just racked 60L of a really big bold, dark red grape wine off of 100kg of Hamburger as we call it...but it's actually Black Hamburg muscat grape. And for the end of the year and the brewing season I've just started slightly over 10L, basically ~ 11L of dark cherry mead from the frozen cherries I had left over from the summer. Again, love the channel, happy the youtube algorithm finally recommended it to me...I just subscribed! 👍
Absolutely amazing video. So informative. Just moved to north Florida from crazy tampa bay for the Tranquility and homestead lifestyle. Wine making is on the list. Muscadines already have fruit on them. Going to be fun!!!!!
If I don't have available to me all those additives, what can you suggest I can use in place of each that is either natural or available in any grocery store? Thanks.
Hi! If I wanted to add additional flavors to the wine (maybe strawberries, pineapples, etc.) when do you think the best time would be in this process? Thanks!
great video, I only have one question, when you made the last transfer to sweeten the wine, you did not add or did not mention stabilizing the wine, I understand that 1 cambden tablet is added per gallon and 1/2 Tsp of potassium sorbate, with the aim of slowing down the fermentation and preventing the corks from flying or exploding the bottles. Hello, I really liked your video.
HI, Love ❤️ Your recipe Cannot wait to try!. The minute You said Ison Muscadines I knew I was at the right place. Fellow Georgian Here. Several Questions about making the Wine, will have to e-mail later, but most importantly after fermentation finished & reracking to remove setament & your ready to bottle. I noticed you sweeten Your wine again. Will that not cause the Wine to Ferment again without adding a persevere ? thank You for reply.Kay
I add a Campton tablet at the end before bottling just forgot to add at the end of video. But the yeast should be dead anyway. We have had some strawberry restart and blow the corks lol. It was a disaster

So fun
Great videos. I am going to start a small muscadine vineyard in south Carolina. How do you decide which kind of muscadines to grow. So many different ones.
Isons nursery has an online catalog and you can check out all the different varieties and they tell what they are good for as such as eating and wines jellies and such. Tip, make sure you have some self fertle plants to cross pollinate the others
@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia thanks buddy, really appreciate the info
Have got one more question for you if you don't mind my trellis is going to be about 200 ft long do you think that's too far to run one wire with two posts should I add a couple more posts and split it up thanks so much for your help
Add t posts every 20 ft. th-cam.com/video/jeA4wQrFi_I/w-d-xo.html
Thank you
Good Morning Shane. Cheers! Kay
Awesome new wine video coming soon I think you'll like
Good Morning Shane, Awesome hope Your able to post New Wine recipe soon. I was wanting to know If You ever tried Ison Nurseries recipe for wine making? I think His Name is Greg If He still work there? Probably has it. Really different using Irish potatoes & steel cut Oatmeal..Kay
Great video, one question about the camden tablets, when do you add them? Is it before you start racking it or after racking is complete? Thank you
24 hrs before backsweetning and bottling
Awesome job! You might have to hide from Sheriff Rasco P. Coltrane, though. lol Thanks for sharing this with us.
Shane, you say in the video that you use the camden tablets in the beginning and end. When do you put them in at the end?
Sorry 24 hrs before bottling and before backsweetning I forgot to add it in the video
@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia Awesome, thank you very much. I live just up the road from ya'll in Senoia. I have my first ever batch ready to be put in the glass carboy. Your video was very informing and cant wait to have some wine. Thank you, again for the how-to. CHEERS!!!
Awesome we were there last night for trick or treat lol@@paulcain3970
@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia I would have told you to come to my neighborhood of Fox Hall.
How long does your primary fermentation usually take? Going on 2 weeks now and still very active.
Always different. Let it brew. Patience makes the best wine
could you use coffee filters to strain out the sediment?
Yes probably, but would take forever
Is there a reason you use the two buckets instead of one bigger bucket for the fermenting?
It's what I have lol
I love ec118 I've made some damm strong and good tasting meads with it.
Another question. Can you reuse the wine bottles. I have so many from different companies and vineyards.
We try and reuse every bottle yes
Awesome video! Truly.
Really love your approach, not just to brewing, but explaining or relaying information.
I just racked 60L of a really big bold, dark red grape wine off of 100kg of Hamburger as we call it...but it's actually Black Hamburg muscat grape.
And for the end of the year and the brewing season I've just started slightly over 10L, basically ~ 11L of dark cherry mead from the frozen cherries I had left over from the summer.
Again, love the channel, happy the youtube algorithm finally recommended it to me...I just subscribed! 👍
Thanks so much really appreciate it
Thanks. Y’all are awesome.
On those particular air locks, did you add any water or sanitizer?
Yes water
@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia Ok thanks! The caps seem very hard to pop off? Any suggestions?
Absolutely amazing video. So informative. Just moved to north Florida from crazy tampa bay for the Tranquility and homestead lifestyle. Wine making is on the list. Muscadines already have fruit on them. Going to be fun!!!!!
Awesome
Wonderful wine 🍷 making video. It looks delicious. Thanks for sharing 😇
Go make ya some wine lol
@@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia 🤣😂
If I don't have available to me all those additives, what can you suggest I can use in place of each that is either natural or available in any grocery store? Thanks.
Not sure lol. I'm still learning as well. Just the way we make it and turns out fantastic.
Hi! If I wanted to add additional flavors to the wine (maybe strawberries, pineapples, etc.) when do you think the best time would be in this process? Thanks!
I've never tried that but we have mixed fruits together at the very start and turned out great
Im getting into wine making. Do I have to worry about tannings from the skin? Or does one of the chemicals get rid of it?
Tanning doing what? We never have a problem
Hey Shane
Can you give any bottled juice making tips and recipes. Thanks
Never just made juice
great video, I only have one question, when you made the last transfer to sweeten the wine, you did not add or did not mention stabilizing the wine, I understand that 1 cambden tablet is added per gallon and 1/2 Tsp of potassium sorbate, with the aim of slowing down the fermentation and preventing the corks from flying or exploding the bottles. Hello, I really liked your video.
I honestly forgot to add it to the end of the video but I definitely do add tablet 24 hrs before backsweet
Will this work for mustang grapes as well?
I don't see why not. I've made plum apple pineapple and lots of other fruit wines
We have been following your video for wine. Why does fermentation stop after 1 week?
Not sure if it should be done but probably slows way down.
Very informative video
