- Videos from my Operations Series feature less talk and more trains! Each new episode usually features improvements to the layout as its construction progresses, all while trains run operations, which is the whole purpose of the layout!
This episode features the El Dorado Refinery for the first time and switching operations conducted in and around that industry. Enjoy!
Switching operations are my favorite aspects of opts.
Specially if the switching area is a puzzle. The challenge is fun
@@jasonweir6345 I agree with you there.
beautiful locos and wagons for great switching operations 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@TRENINIEMODELLISMO617 Thank you!
great vid
@@anfieldroadlayoutintheloft5204 Thank you!
As is expected, a couple of little hiccups but a great little switching ops. Now I get the layout and it’s going to be a nice little challenge. It will be a good spot for an operator and the on site switcher will be a blast.
@@derekalexander4030 Glad you enjoyed it! I have plans to produce an operations scheme video for the entire layout so everyone can gain an understanding of how the whole thing will run. Might do that one next week.
Cool! Thanks for sharing 🙂
@@LJRLowevilleJunctionRailroad Thanks for watching!
Despite a little stuttering which we all have, nice Ops…
@@georgiasunbelt Thank you!
is that UP SD40 a Scaletrains unit?? Sounds great!!
@@Wolfe351 That one is a Broadway Limited.
@@KandWRailroader Nice I had one their AC6000s but sold it to pay bills!!
We don’t get many white tank cars our way. They look great. Is there a difference in white and black tankers?
@@DuCo_Loco I'm not sure...I'll have to get back to you on that unless somebody beats me to it.
After a quick google search, white tank cars are used for products where temperature is a concern, with the white paint reflecting the sun's heat instead of the black absorbing it.
very interesting. I guess I could’ve googled that also, but I’m lazy lol
@DuCo_Loco Don't worry, I am too, but as owner of said cars and publisher of the content in question, I thought it was my responsibility...LOL.
